25- Hurt

Bella's POV

"Leave me alone" Ashton said as he walked away from me.

That was unexpected...

I stood in front of the diner dumbfounded as I watched him walk away from me. It's so funny to think that this is yet another time that he's walked away from me.

In our four weeks of dating he's walked away from me a lot of times. Sometimes I wonder if this is a one sided relationship or if he really loves me.

I sighed and walked to the bus station. Maybe he'll come around soon, I hope.

After the long annoying bus ride with the weird girl beside me who kept chewing with her mouth open, I finally arrived home. Today was Mason's birthday so we were eating dinner at a restaurant nearby. I already missed going zip lining with mom, dad and Mason.

I texted Ashton asking him if he'd like to come, but he only read it and didn't reply.

I changed into a black tube top and black jeans with black sneakers.

I let my hair down and put on light makeup.

Satisfied with my look, I ran down stairs to my parents. Immediately they saw me, his  eyes widened.

"What happened to wearing hoodies?!" My dad asked, making my mom giggle.

"She's an adult, she can wear whatever she wants" My mom said, hugging my dad from the side.

"But it's showing her belly button," He complained.

"It's ok, it's only showing three centimeters of skin" My mom said.

"Yeah, dad you said I can't show more than five centimeters of skin" I reminded him of the ridiculous rule he made five years ago.

"Ok" He said.

"Why are you giving her attention? It's my fourteenth birthday so give me attention" Mason complained. I rolled my eyes.

"I thought people become smarter as they age," I said.

"Not like you've grown attractive since you were ten" He retorted.

"At least I'm smart" I retorted.

"What's the square root of twenty five," He asked.

"Six hundred and twenty five" I answered. And some people called me a freak for learning squares in middle school.

"How'd you know? I don't even know it" He said in disbelief.

"That's because I'm smarter than you. Next time don't underestimate your sister who's four years older than you" I said.

"I better start learning squares," He said before walking away.

I followed him outside. My eyes widened at the sight of my mom and dad kissing

"Aww" I smiled.

"Eww!" My brother said with a disgusted face on.

I always knew we were polar opposites.

"Let's go before it's late" My dad said, with a light shade of pink on his cheeks.

They're so cute.

We rode in my dad's car for thirty minutes before arriving at the restaurant. My dad had already made a reservation and after dinner we're going to the park where Mason's friends were meeting him to celebrate with him.

We stepped into the restaurant and made our way to our table. I sat beside my mom while my dad and Mason sat opposite us.

The waiter came to take our order. We ordered pasta pizza, giant pork ribs and a bucket of chicken, for dessert we ordered chocolate and cheesecake, vanilla and chocolate ice cream and edible cookie dough.

While eating my pork ribs I looked up at the door of the restaurant, Ashton walked into this restaurant with a girl!

I suddenly felt a very familiar pain in my chest.

My giant pork ribs fell to my plate, attracting attention from both my parents and some people from the table nearby.

It's been barely a day since we fought or since he walked away from me again and he's with another girl.

I tried to calm down and pretend like nothing was happening.

"Honey, isn't that Ashton? Tell him to sit with us" My dad said.

"There's no need for that, I'm sure he's busy," I said.

"But he's your boyfriend I'm sure he's never too busy for you" My mom said. If only that was true.

"No there's no need" I said, hoping they would drop it but my dad seemed very much determined.

I 'mistakenly' spilled water on myself so I went to the bathroom to clean up.

I finished cleaning up and decided to go back to my family. I glanced over to where Ashton and the girl were sitting.

I had enough time to study her now she had curly brown hair and brown eyes with glowing light black skin, her face looked perfect and. She looked like a Victoria's Secret model.

While I... I looked like a total mess. Even my own brother can't admit that I look pretty, I must look really awful.

I guess I was one of those girls he's used and dumped.

The pain was back again.

I walked back to my table and sat as I watched my parents and brother crack jokes.

I brushed my curly hair away from my face as I checked my notifications. A few from YouTube and some from my friends and some from Instagram.

I tapped on my Instagram notification, most of them were notifications that Adrian posted a new picture or that someone started following me.

I tapped on Adrian's account and checked his account. A new picture was posted yesterday, he was coming out of an airplane.

The caption read: I guess I'm back to square one.

What was that supposed to mean?

I shurgged it off and checked the one that was posted today. He was holding flowers and a box of chocolate standing at his doorstep, he wore a white button up shirt and black jeans.

The caption read: Wish me luck

He's probably going to ask the girl he broke up with me for to be his girlfriend.

Now that I think of it, it's been awhile since I've seen Adrian. I would really like to talk to him and see how he's doing with his life.

To be honest I really miss my friendship with Adrian and all my old friends from high school.

I smiled at the thought, it's sad to think that all that is gone now and might be gone forever.

"I think we should go now" My dad said after he finished paying.

After leaving the restaurant we went to the park where we celebrated with Mason's friends and went home afterwards.

Ashton still hadn't texted me back and after seeing him with that girl tonight I doubt he's going to text me. I just hope everything will be back to normal by tomorrow.

I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.

...

"So you're telling me you need me to make Ashton stop ignoring you?" Jessie asked. I nodded.

"I will!" She said excitedly.

"So what do you think I should do to get his attention?" I asked.

"Well, I have three things that might work," She said.

"What are those things?" I asked.

"One, give him lots and lots of attention. From all the magazines I've read they say if a guy ignores you he actually really likes you and is trying to know how much you like him by the amount of attention you give him" She said. She did actually have a point.

"So I suggest you be all over him. Talk to him, do things that are gonna make him want you" She said.

"Your other options?" I asked. This one is kinda weird, I ain't like being super clinging. And it obviously has nothing to do with Adrian's breakup speech.

"Ignore him too. That way he'll have to come around and try to find out what's going on " She said. Good, but I hate ignoring him. I'm literally looking at him right now.

"I don't like that one," I said.

"Give other boys attention and ignore him" She said. That's basically cheating on him.

"So you're asking me to cheat on him. No thank you" I said.

"No. It's not considered cheating since he went out with another girl last night. Besides he'll surely have to come around since you'll be spending more time with another guy" She said.

"That's childish, we are adults," I said.

"Really? Do adults steal skittles from my bag every morning?" She asked.

"You know?" I asked. She nodded.

"It's fine," She said.

"What do you think I should go for?" I asked.

"I feel like you should try every single thing I said," She said.

"Sure I will," I said.

I looked over to Ashton and found him talking to the other girl from last night.

What the heck?!

"Jessie, who's that?" I asked.

"Oh that's Effie, the new girl working here" She answered.

"She's the girl I caught Ashton with," I said.

"Are you sure? She's super nice" She said.

"She's the one," I said.

"Small world" She mumbled before leaving. She's infected my friends too.

Today was a very bad day for me, everyone kept talking about the new girl and she seems to have made a lot of friends. She's also been all over Ashton and he seemed to be enjoying it.

I don't even know what to think any more. Every time I glanced at them my heart feels like it's being stabbed over and over.

It was finally 2pm and my shift ended. I picked up my back and rushed out of the diner.

Ashton and Effie were standing in front of me, he was holding her hand like she'll disappear if he let go.

"Ashton! We need to talk!" I yelled as I ran closer to them.

"Ashton!" I yelled, pulling him by his arm.

"Please Ashton talk to me, you can trust me" I said hoping he would share with me what's wrong, but he didn't even look at me instead he tried to pull himself away.

"Please Ashton. You can't keep ignoring your girlfriend" I said, raising my hands to touch his face.

"If I recall well, I never asked you to be my girlfriend. So don't keep deceiving yourself," He said harshly before leaving.

My heart tore into tiny little bits.

This is honestly one of my favorite chapters. Anyways fasten your seatbelts and get ready, because this is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions.
