He kisses me slowly,
And my cheeks warm up to the touch.
His lips pressed firmly,
Against my own.
My heart skips a beat.
He says goodbye,
And my heart halts.
The sadness creeps in,
and I know the moments lost.
He's gone now and my heart aches,
The moments gone,
But the feeling lingers on.
My heart seems to break all over again,
Watching his back turn to me,
I know he'll never return to me.
Our time is borrowed.
And I know there's no plan for we.
Yet I continue on,
Time and time again,
To allow him to kiss me slowly.
Leave and move on from me.
My heart aches,
The pain familiar to me.
Seems to me I'm the only thinking of, Lingering lips and blushed cheeks.
Seems to me I'm the only thinking of we.
The pain in my heart overcomes me.
As I whisper a short goodbye.
While he doesn't even notice me,
Notice me in my pain.
He only sees what his eyes,
Allow him to see.
A body.
While I see everything,
Mind,
Body,
And his heart,
With ease while I feel everything,
Leaving my heart not at ease.
He leaves,
Taking my heart with him,
Not realizing the mess that he leaves.
