“What?” Maximilian didn’t hear him clearly.

“It seems to be Mr. Ivan Wolfe,” Gary pointed at the child’s back through the glass door.

Maximilian looked over and found two children had already walked into the hall.

“It’s not Ivan,” Maximilian said.

He had never seen his son playing with children his own age, especially girls.

Moreover, why would Ivan come to the institute at this time?

“Maybe I got it wrong,” Gary said before driving in with Maximilian.

The two went straight in. While passing the security desk, the security guard said respectfully, “Mr. Wolfe, Mr. Ivan Wolfe has just arrived.”

“Really?” Maximilian frowned slightly. “Where is him?”

“He went to the banquet hall with a little girl,” the security guard smiled.

Hearing that, Maximilian walked towards the banquet hall while picking up his phone to call Diane.

“Where’s Ivan?”

Diane quickly answered, “Mr. Ivan Wolfe has just finished his meal and is in the room on the second floor.”

“Are you sure he is in the room?” Maximilian asked again.

Diane felt nervous instantly, saying, “Mr. Wolfe, I’ll go upstairs and take a look right away.”

Maximilian had already reached the door of the banquet hall at that time.

He glanced around and caught the sight of the woman being admired in the hall almost instantly.

In a black dress, Evelyn was holding a wine glass with a faint smile.

Her eyes were squinting from the smile. The mole became even more vivid, perhaps because of the wine she had drank.

Around her, the researchers, rated as the most simple–minded men of the institute, also tried their best to show their courtesy to her.

She smiled at everyone, but her smile looked so fake, like a heartless fairy.

Maximilian turned a bit gloomy and was about to walk in when suddenly, two small figures caught his attention..

He was shocked.

It was really Ivan!

The little girl next to Ivan looked so familiar. Wasn’t she Evelyn’s daughter?

Maximilian only felt ridiculous.

When did his son, that introverted Ivan, meet Evelyn’s daughter and develop such a good relationship with her?

They were even walking together hand in hand.

Thinking of that, Maximilian strode over.

“Max, why are you here?” Karen was a little surprised by Maximilian’s presence.

She asked Maximilian in the morning. He told her he would not come because he had something to do.

Karen ridiculed Evelyn for that, saying that Maximilian wouldn’t come to her welcome party.

Maximilian was in a hurry to ask Ivan what was going on. Seeing Karen not getting out of the way, he suddenly felt annoyed.

He blurted out, “You don’t look good in black. Don’t wear it again.”

After saying that, Maximilian directly bypassed her.

Karen only reacted after he left for two seconds. Suddenly, she lost control of her expression! She quickly turned her head and saw Maximilian walking fast towards Evelyn!

It was Evelyn again! Karen’s nails almost dug into her palms.

Maximilian must have done a genetic test, so Karen didn’t believe Evelyn could leave unscathed this time!

By that time, she would personally tell Evelyn’s son that their father had killed their mother! Karen had a vicious look on her face until she saw Maximilian walking in front of the two kids. She saw the boy’s face clearly.

Was it Ivan?

No, it’s Lucas! How could Ivan, that autistic child, have a playmate?

Karen’s heart suddenly beat wildly.

What would Maximilian do if he found it was Lucas?

At this moment, Maximilian had come before Lucas. “Ivan?”

He stared at Lucas before him. “Why are you here?” Seeing Maximilian, Lucas immediately held his breath. Didn’t Evelyn say that Maximilian wouldn’t be here today?

Lucas quickly turned to look at Evelyn, who was hurrying over.

Evelyn also looked at him with a hint of sullenness on her face.

Just as Evelyn and Lucas were thinking about the situation in their hearts, Diane’s from Maximilian’s phone.

“Mr. Wolfe, Mr. Ivan Wolfe is in his room…”
