Chapter 378 When Olivia was on the ground floor of Dorothyâs apartment, she suddenly remembered the news, so she called Ken to ask him to negotiate with the media.
They had to get rid of everything before Zyla woke up.
When everything was settled, she went upstairs and knocked on Dorothyâs door.
Soon, Dorothy opened the door and saw Olivia leaning against it with her arms folded over her chest. She was looking at her disdainfully.
âWhat are you doing here, Olivia?â
âDonât you know what Iâm here for?â
Dorothy smiled and shook his head. âI donât.â
Anger rose in Olivia upon seeing Dorothyâs reaction. She sneered and said, âI recorded the phone calls. today. I can play you back every word youâve said.â
Dorothyâs expression changed, and she growled, âOlivia, are you looking for trouble? Arenât you afraid that b*tch Zyla will lose her reputation?â
âDonât you forget that your brother is still in my hands! Heâs going to take his A-levels soon. If anything happens to him, you...â
Dorothy looked at Olivia mockingly and deliberately did not finish her sentence.
âAre you threatening me?â
âIsnât it obvious?â
Olivia took out her phone and was about to press the play button when the policeman stepped out of the elevator.
âMs. Larson, where is the suspect you mentioned?â
Olivia pointed at Dorothy. âItâs her, Dorothy Ellis.â
Dorothy put on an aggrieved look when she saw the police. âOfficer, what have I done?â
âMs. Larson is suing you for using othersâ photos illegally, falsely accusing others, and employing rapists.â
âWhat?â
Startled, Dorothy looked at Olivia and pouted her lips as she sobbed. âLiv, what are you doing? Do you have any proof? How could you accuse me so unjustly?â
The policeman asked, âMs. Larson, do you have any proof?â
âI have a recording of the phone call. I donât know if that counts as evidence.â
âYes, it can be used as referential evidence, but not as conclusive evidence.â
Olivia glanced at Dorothy coldly. âIf so, why donât you ask Ms. Ellis to accompany me to the police station, and weâll slowly listen back to the recordings?â
Dorothyâs gaze turned cold.
She could not go to the police station.
Besides, there would be a real mess if Olivia played that recording.
She could not let that happen.
Dorothy cried so hard that her shoulders trembled. âWhatâs wrong with society nowadays? How can you take me to the police station without any evidence?â
âOlivia, no matter how jealous you are of me, you shouldnât accuse me! I havenât gone out today, so how could I have done the things youâre accusing me of?â
âHeh.â Olivia scoffed. âOf course I knew you wouldnât admit it.â
Then, she clicked on the record. âLetâs listen to it here, then.â
However, the recording only played until the sentence: [Olivia, did you get my gift?]
Someone snatched the phone and turned it off.
Olivia lifted her head and saw John trying to delete the recording. She wanted to snatch it back.
However, John was taller than her, and she could not reach it since he was lifting the phone away from her.
She got angry and kicked him in the knee as she cursed. âYou son of a b*tch, give me back my phone.â
John was in pain and threw the phone back into her arms, but the recording was now gone.
âJohn!â
Johnâs eyes turned red. âWhat are you doing? Who are you to delete the recordings?â
He glanced at her coldly. âYour so-called evidence is just a missing recording.â Then, he looked at the police officers. âNothing happened here. You can go back.â
