Chapter 846 Olivia waited by the emergency room door for almost an hour. Before the operation was over, she became more flustered as time went by.
âNothing can happen to Kate!â
Suddenly, her phone rang. She thought it was Ken and picked it up without looking.
âWhy arenât you here yet?â
However, she heard a familiar yet strange voice as soon as she asked.
âMs. James, I should be asking you this. The auction is about to start. Why arenât you here yet?â
Olivia paused and looked down at the caller ID before pressing her lips together in embarrassment. âSir, Iâm sorry. Something happened to my friend, and sheâs still in the emergency room, so I forgot. I think I cant make it today. Iâm really sorry...â
She expected Milo to be angry, but Milo unexpectedly chuckled.
âMs. James, I noticed you have been strangely afraid of me since we met. Itâs as if I will eat you. Itâs a big deal if a friend is in trouble, and itâs normal that you canât come. You donât have to apologize to me.â
âAfter all, I promised you Iâd attend. I feel bad that I canât go.â
âWhat happened to your friend? Do you need my help? Which hospital are you in? Shall I come over?â
âNo thanks. Donât bother, Sir.â
Milo was silent for a while. âThen letâs meet again when youâre free.â
Olivia nodded. âYeah, okay. Goodbye, Sir.â
However, she could not help frowning after hanging up.
âWhy do I find Milo speaking and acting differently from Mr. M?
âBut how could he be an impostor when he could bring up so much that only Mr. M and I knew?
âAm I being paranoid?â
Olivia patted her face and shook her head. Johnâs meddling must have made her so paranoid.
âSheâs not out yet?â
Suddenly, a dark shadow cast over her head and enveloped her.
She knew who it was without looking up, so she spoke bluntly.
âSo you came? I thought you were going to watch her die.â
âWhy are you mad at me? Itâs not like there arenât doctors to help her. Iâm not going to be of any use even if I came. Iâm not the one operating on her.â
Olivia jumped up and punched Ken in the chest when she heard this. âKen, since when did you become so heartless? Sheâs your sister. Shouldnât you be here? Do you know how much she needs your support and companionship?â
Ken sneered. âIf she hadnât been stupid and became Dorothyâs lackey, this wouldnât have happened to her.â
âKen, do you know what youâre talking about?â
âOf course I do.â Kenâs face was cold. âWe warned her. Whoâs to blame when she went her way?â
âKen, Dorothy thought she was a traitor and beat her up because she helped me!â
Olivia lost her temper and slapped Ken. âEven if you donât feel sorry for her, you didnât have to say such nonsense here! Iâm so disappointed in you!â
She had hit him so many times, and Ken never fought back. He just looked at her indifferently until the emergency room door opened, and he turned to leave.
âKen, arenât you going to see her? Do you have to do this?â
Ken paused and left without a word.
Olivia looked at his back in disbelief, wondering why the men around her had changed.
They became so unfamiliar that it scared her.
How could people be so indifferent?
