Nothing new

Shizue's eyes were wide in shock as her heartbeat rose drastically. She couldn't believe it, it was like what you felt when your greatest wish had finally been answered. And all of it happened because of Levi's jealousy.

"Please say it again," She asked with a pleading eyes that Levi had to avoid. How the hell was he supposed to say no to that face?

"No."

The girl pouted. "Leviii-"

His heart clenched as he felt his defenses weaker because of the girl in front of him. The ravenette man walked past her and headed towards his desk. No. He embarrassed himself already, he couldn't possibly do it again.

"Forget it."

Shizue frowned and crossed her arms, until an idea popped in her head. "Alright, maybe I'll just go to Erwin's and see what he's up to-"

"Alright!" Levi lost at as he rushed back to her. The man let out an exhale as he massaged the bridge of his nose before finally facing her.

"I..love you," He balked.

"You say that like you're about to throw up." Shizue glared at him. He was honestly not surprised that her patience would run thin with him, because Shizue always voiced her emotions out loud, she didn't have a problem opening herself up to Levi, and that's why he knew her like the back of his hand. But its different the other way around.

Levi held her waist as he slowly pulls her close, he kept his gaze on the ground while trying to compose himself. Meanwhile Shizue's heart was racing due to their close proximity.

"I'm not good with...words, so listen carefully because I will not repeat this again." Levi spoke as if he was commanding a hundred soldiers which made her held a chuckle.

"I love you, Shizue."

Shizue was dressed in her uniform which consisted of a simple dark purple long-sleeve blouse with a swirl symbol on its buttons, tucked in the same colored long skirt.

"I'm leaving." She spoke tiredly, making Levi peek from the kitchen.

"Where are you headed to?" Sasha asked as she puts down her breakfast.

Shizue grabbed a cigarette from her purse and lights it. "Work."

Unknown to her, the squad was still frozen in their spot while their eyes never left her. "What?"

Sasha was looking at her in disbelief."Shizue-san....you have a job?"

"Of course I do! What the hell do you think of me you brats?!"

"We just think you were already born rich that's all!"

"Connie doesn't speak for me."

"Jean you punk!"

Levi steps out of the kitchen and the whole room went silent. "That's enough."

Shizue was halfway through the door when she remembered something. "Oh and...Hanji is on their way now to get you guys."

Levi's shoulders dropped. "Where are we going?"

"No idea."

"And you waited just now to tell us?

"Yeah. Goodluck." Shizue says with a fake enthusiasm and waves her hand as she left.

"And this is the barbeque place I was talking about! Pretty cool right?!" Hanji exclaimed and happily presented the restaurant. Sasha and Connie was quick to peek on the transparent window and gawked at all the delicious meet.

"This place must be heaven, Connie."

"You're most certainly right, Sasha."

Armin tried to pry them off the window, mostly because the customers were already whispering among themselves while looking at them weirdly. The squad went inside, Hanji greeted the store owner. It seemed like they come here often.

Annie pushed Reiner's face away from the menu and just basically stole it from him and browsed it herself. The brunette with glasses didn't stop talking about the ultimate barbeque, Mikasa just chose the same thing. Levi didn't care so Hanji ordered for him.

Hanji took them to almost every tourist spot in the city before they even went here. They made it their personal goal to introduce the squad to the new environment that had a lot of modern technology, most of which they already saw in Marley but it was more advanced. Hopefully, they wouldn't have to tell them about those things.

"Oh come on, just because Shizue is not here you're more grumpier than ever!" Hanji gave him a small nudge, the man only glared at them.

"Can you not say that for once?" He spat, remembering how they always teased him with that back then, every chance they get.

"I hope you don't get tired of her, ya' know," They said out of the blue as they took a big bite of their food. The man furrowed his brows at Hanji.

"Do you even know how insane you sound, Hanji?" Levi spoke in a serious manner. He couldn't even imagine leaving Shizue, why the hell would he give up on her in the first place?

"I'm sorry, Shizue did change a lot. But I hope you don't forget that it is still her. I know so," Hanji smiled encouragingly and smacked his back which came harder than expected.

"Damn it you four-eyes!"

"Go get your woman midget!"

"Stop talking. Now."

Their table was loud that Levi could actually pity the other customers. Everyone was chatting at exchanging stories about everything that happened, everything Hanji missed. It was nice, but of course, no such thing would last. Not for long.

A woman wearing an apron approached their table with a soft smile on her face, she holding a silver tray. "Anyone would care for sushi?"

Pieck shook her head, "No thank you," the girl said politely.

But the waitress did not move. Levi didn't look but felt something incredibly wrong.

"Please...have some sushi," The smile never left her face. Mikasa's brows furrowed in confusion as to why the woman was so persistent, that was until she turns around and saw the disfigured face of the waitress. She gasped and stood away.

"What the hell?"

The waitress' eyes fell on the tray. "Please...ev..ryone...likes....su...shi." Their eyes widened as an enormous tentacle emerged from the human body, the flesh oozed as the skin of the human body was torn apart. They all stepped away but couldn't understand why the other customers were calm as ever, as if they couldn't see everything that was happening.

"What the fuck is going on?!" Jean frantically pulled Sasha out of the way as the curse violently waved its tentacles around until it stabbed through...a woman. The place filled with panic and fearful screams. And the curse fed from it.

"It's a curse! Everybody get out!" Hanji yelled as the civilians rushed to get out. Mikasa bumped against the counter where her eyes wandered, and saw a bunch of knives lying around.

"Captain!" Levi's senses heightened and swiftly caught the knife that Mikasa threw carelessly and used it to cut the tentacle that went towards his direction. None of them couldn't understand what that creature was but it was anything but harmless. Though it didn't seem to have any intelligence as its only motive was to attack.

A figure from outside the shop saw everything that went down. Her teeth sank against her thumb, she couldn't help but feel even more fascinated with the people they met. Shizue had a feeling, they were everything but ordinary.

"S-Shizue-san! We need to drop the curtain right now!" Ijichi shook in fear as he stood behind the sorcerer. She kept saying later and later. She's gonna be the death of me...!

The squad worked their way out, taking the other civilians to safety, that's when they saw a familiar pink haired female, standing outside with her arms crossed. The curse grew vastly that the shop couldn't contain it anymore.

"Go on, drop it." Shizue observed as everyone got out the radius, Reiner and Jean were carrying the injured civilians as they thankfully ran to the area outside the hazard zone.

"Shizue!" Hanji called out to her, a large battle axe emerged from her own blood. Levi's eyes widen. "SHIIZUUE THERE'S A WEIRD OCTOBITS FUC-"

"But there are still civilians Shizue-san! This is a grade 1 curse!" Ijichi cried.

"Its fine," He was talking about Levi, and the others.

There's no way those are just civilians. There was no time to get them, but they can run.

"Tell Hanji to get out. Drop the curtain."  Shizue ran the opposite way from Mikasa and charged against the curse. Her eyes widen in shock as she called for her vice-captain, but her words only fell on deaf ears. Ijichi ran towards the brunette as the dark sky materialized and slowly envelopes the radius.

The ravenette man angrily snatched his arm away from Hanji who forcefully pulled him away. His were shaking as he dropped the purple-stained knife.

Its eyes wandered its surroundings. The enormous curse let its tentacles wipe out half of the vicinity but it still couldn't find the pink haired sorcerer.  It felt an unsettling aura behind him but when it turned, there was nothing. Shizue continued circle her way around the curse until he grew angrier. A loud thud erupted from the field as his blood gushed out from one of its tentacles.

Then another.

Then another.

The sound of a large debri crashing against the ground echoed. "What the hell are you doing we can't leave her there!"

"No calm down, Let her do her job." They tried to calm him Levi down, but it was of no use. Finding out that this was the job she was talking about spiked some unknown fear within his chest. He thought she finally lived a peaceful life after the cruel fate from the war but, he was wrong.

"Please, if there's anyone who can handle this mission its her."

"Its true! That's why they assigned it to her alone!" Levi's eyes twitched when he heard those words, making Ijichi hide behind Hanji in hope of protection from the frightening man.

"She's supposed to deal with this job alone?" Hanji let out a nervous laugh and took a step back. They didn't know if what is more scary between Levi back then or the person who stood before them right now.

"W-well not all the time.."

Levi clenched his fists, turning back to the ruins of the shop, but to his surprise, there was nothing there except for the pink haired girl, her axe, and the fading corpse of the curse.

"W-whaat" Sasha gaped. "I swore I just turned around. What happened?!"

Shizue's eyes watched unemotionally as the curse dissipated from her sight, after going through the origin of the curse, she noticed something peculiar. Scratching her fingers in irritation, the girl walked away from the remains of the store as the veil slowly went down. It seemed that Hanji already told them about the curses because she saw the way they were looking at her right now. She just walked past them, dialing on her phone.

"Good job on the civilians, though I never would've minded," She muttered. Levi couldn't help but knot his brows at her statement, he only continues to walk behind her.

Hanji put their arms around them, "Come on Shizue, don't be like that." The girl didn't say anything. She was about to call Gojo when Hanji's phone rang. Their eyes shot at the strawberry haired girl and gulped.

"Yes, I understand." They heard them say before hanging up. "That was Gojo,"

Shizue raised a brow, something didn't sit right with her. Hanji took a sharp exhale, rubbing their temples in distress. "I think we have a huge problem."
