Chapter 307
âMr. Sumner, what brings you here?â Nyla asked.
Seeing Nylaâs composed demeanor, Richard frowned, his tone condescending. âName your price, as long as you agree to let Cyrus go.â
Nyla remained calm. âAnd how much are you offering?
âThat depends on your demand. The incident happened so many years ago. Even if you send Cyrus to prison, I can still find a way to get him out. Stubbornness wonât benefit you,â Richard stated.
Nyla stood up, her tone flat. âSince youâve put it that way, thereâs no point in continuing this conversation.â Richardâs expression turned icy. âWhat do you mean by that?â
âI mean, I donât think we can come to an agreement. I have work to do, so Iâll take my leave now.â With that, Nyla turned and walked out.
Watching her leave, Richard felt his frustration reaching a boiling point. If she wouldnât accept his offer, he wouldnât hold back any longer.

Nyla shook her head. âItâs nothing. Just focus on your work.â
That evening, Nyla received a call from Gabriel.
âAre you free tonight? Letâs have dinner together,â he invited.
Surprised, Nyla paused for a moment before replying, âSure, where are you? Iâll book the restaurant.â
Gabriel, who hadnât returned to Saintornia for years, was unfamiliar with the area. He didnât insist on choosing a place himself and gave Nyla the name of his hotel.
After hanging up, Nyla made a reservation and pondered why Gabriel had suddenly returned to the city. Given his career prospects abroad, it seemed he would have better opportunities elsewhere.
Unable to reach a clear conclusion, she decided to set the thought aside.
Later, as Nyla was about to leave work, she received a text from Damon asking her to wait for him so they could go home together.
Nyla stared at the text for a moment before replying that she had plans for dinner.
Moments later, Damon called her directly. âWho are you having dinner with?â
âA friend,â she replied.
Damon frowned. He knew Nylaâs close friend in the city was likely Valorie. If it were her, Nyla would have
