Chapter 595
Luca shook his head. âI donât know either.â
Nyla grabbed Damon, her voice cold. âWhere is Buddy?â
Damon, clearly annoyed, shrugged off her hand. âI told you, heâs in a very safe place.â
âI donât believe you! Not unless you let me see him!â Nyla exclaimed.
Damonâs patience finally wore thin. He turned to Luca. You handle this.â
With that, he got into the car and drove off.
Nyla tried to follow, but Luca stopped her. âMs. Kinsey, even if you catch up, if Mr. Sumner doesnât want you to see Buddy, you wonât be able to. But I assure you, heâs safe. Thereâs no need to worry.â
âNo need to worry?â Nyla shot him a cold look. âIf your child were suddenly taken from home, wouldnât you be worried? Mr. Fleming, do you honestly think Mr. Sumnerâs actions are justified?â
Luca hesitated, at a loss for words. âMs. Kinsey, Iâm just his secretary. I can only follow Mr. Sumnerâs
orders.â
âFine, I wonât make it difficult for you. Iâll just wait here until he lets me see Buddy,â Nyla replied.
Luca sighed. âDo as you wish. But Mr. Sumner wonât change his mind for anyone. Even if you wait here for a long time, he wonât agree to let you see the child.â
Soon, Damon arrived at the hospital.
Masonâs injuries had already been treated, and he had been moved to a private room.
Upon seeing Masonâs arm in a cast and the scrapes on his face, Damonâs expression darkened.
The maid noticed him and quickly stood up. âMr. Sumner.â
Damon replied indifferently, âYou can go back.â
âYes, sir,â the maid answered before leaving.
The room fell silent.
Mason turned his head away, refusing to look at Damon.
âDo you really think that by refusing to eat or trying to jump out of the window, Iâll let you go back to your mother?â Damon asked.
Mason didnât respond, staring blankly out the window, his profile almost identical to Damonâs.
âAre you sure you donât want to eat?â Damon asked again.
Mason glanced back at him. âNone of your business! Iâd rather starve than eat your food! Youâre just a kidnapper!â
Seeing the anger on Masonâs face, Damon remained calm. He called Luca to have some food delivered

to the hospital.
âEven if you buy it, I still wonât eat!â Mason insisted.
Damon raised an eyebrow. âWho said itâs for you? Iâm hungry too after working all day.â
Mason, momentarily taken aback, turned his back on Damon, clearly upset.
Within half an hour, Luca entered the hospital room, carrying several bags of food.
âMr. Sumner, I got everything you asked for,â he said.
Damon nodded. âGood, hand them over.â
As he opened the bags, the aroma of food filled the room.
Mason, having not eaten all day, couldnât help but swallow hard at the smell.
Damon took a bite of a fried chicken drumstick and exclaimed through a mouthful of food, âThis is delicious!â
Mason turned to glare at him. âCan you eat somewhere else? Youâre bothering me!â
âNope,â Damon replied curtly.
Mason fell silent, his gaze flicking briefly to the drumstick in Damonâs hand before he quickly looked away. He needed to hold out. He wanted to see his mother more than he wanted the fried chicken.
Damon continued eating, working his way through various dishes, while Mason managed to resist looking back, which surprised Damon. He hadnât expected a 5âyearâold to have such willpower.
Picking up the last drumstick, Damon waved it deliberately in front of Mason. âAre you sure you donât want any?â
