Cindyâs lips quivered as she opened her mouth, but she couldnât utter a single word.
She hadnât expected Damon to install surveillance cameras in the Sumner residenceâs living room. Even if she had known, her hatred for him might have driven her to blurt it out intentionally.
âDamon, everything thatâs gone wrong is my and Cyrusâ fault. We didnât raise Clark properly. If you want revenge, come after us. Please, spare Clark!â Cindy begged.
Damon showed no reaction to her pleas, merely saying, âI need to rest. Leave the room within a minute.â
Cindy and Cyrus froze. They exchanged glances, realizing this was their only chance to save Clark.
Cyrus struggled to stand up and addressed Damon, âI have over a million dollars left. Iâll give you all of it. Iâll persuade Dad to hand over the Sumner Group to you, as long as you let Clark go.â
Damon remained indifferent, a hint of impatience flickering in his eyes. âDo you really think you have the right to negotiate with me? Those things mean nothing to me. I wonât spare Clark.â
Seeing his icy demeanor, Cyrus and Cindy finally understood that no matter how much they begged, it would be in vain.
âDamon, even though youâre not a Sumner, Iâve always considered you my brother all these years. Youâll regret treating us this way one day!â Cyrus snapped.
Disgust flashed in Damonâs eyes as he pressed the call button, summoning his subordinates to throw them out.
As the hospital room door opened and closed, Cyrus and Cindyâs shouts faded away.
Damonâs expression settled back to calm. To him, family ties were merely tools for binding interests.
Once they were thrown out of the hospital, Cindy despaired. âCyrus, what are we going to do now? If we lose Clark, I canât go on livingâ¦â
âDo you even have the right to say that? If you hadnât mentioned those things in the family residence, Damon wouldnât have found outâ¦
âForget it, thereâs no point in talking about that now. Iâm going to see Dad and see if he has any ideas,â Cyrus replied, hurrying away.
Cindy hesitated for a moment before quickly following him.
In the Prestonsâ living roomâ¦
Rebecca sat on the sofa, her body covered in bruises. She stared blankly at the television, which was the only source of sound in the otherwise empty villa.
The cold light from the chandelier cast a harsh glow on her face, illuminating the fingerprints left on her
skin.
Suddenly, her calm expression shifted, her eyes filling with deep hatred.

Chapter 660
The television news was reporting the kidnapping of Nyla and Mason by Clark, along with Damonâs serious injury while attempting to save them. Now, everyone knew that Nyla was alive.
Rebecca tightened her grip on the remote control, her gaze locked onto Nylaâs face, seething with
resentment.
If it werenât for Nyla, she wouldnât have been forced into marrying Nathaniel. The past five years wouldnât have been a living hell.
Five years ago, Damon had nearly driven the Preston Group to bankruptcy.
If he hadnât suddenly lost his memory afterward, Nathaniel would have struggled to keep the company afloat. Although he had managed to prevent the companyâs collapse, they were left deeply in debt. Under Damonâs covert oppression, the Preston Group barely managed to survive.
After Nathaniel and Rebecca were married, he initially ignored her.
However, as it became harder to secure contracts for the Preston Group, he started arguing with her
when he got home. Those arguments escalated into domestic violence, and eventually, he even pushed her into bed with business partners to secure cooperation deals.
