CHAPTER TWELVE

Sakyja's Sweetening.

Ky sat on her bed swiping on her phone. She was trying to find clothes for back to school. School started in a little over three weeks and she had nothing at all as far as clothes, except for the things in her closet of course. She wanted some thing brand new though.

She knew that if she ordered online it would take two to three weeks to ship out so she was trying to get all her orders placed today.

Isaiah had gotten her a few pair of shoes and her mommy bought her wig and said she would pay for all her back to school preps. Her mommy also gave her some money to put on her clothes.

Ky huffed out in frustration as she looked through what felt like the 209th page on Shein.

She swiped out the app going to her messages app. She huffed again not seeing any new notifications before going back to the Shein app.

It had been almost two weeks since she had talked to Tae. She wasn't sure about the exact timing but she knew what it felt like. It felt like a thousand years.

Ky had tried to text and call and call and text but he wouldn't respond to either one. She was so confused but she fell back to stop herself from looking like an idiot.

She had seen him in person one time and he didn't even look her way. Instead he got up and left soon after she came.

"I can't stress it." Ky told her self as she added cute things to her cart. These days that's all she found her self saying. Especially when it came to boys.

Ky felt like she was going sour. She felt like she wasn't the same person anymore. No matter how good she was to people, she felt no one ever tried to be good back to her.

Ky finished up her cart on Shein and placed her order. She decided she was hungry and would finish her shopping at a later time.

"Hey pay. Your momma was just talking about you." Isaiah greeted Ky as she came trotting down the stairs.

"Hey. What Sakina talking about?" Ky said walking into the kitchen looking back at Isaiah.

"Who you calling Sakina?" Her mom said scaring her as she turned around to meet eyes with her.

"Yea, look like you saw a damn ghost." Sakina laughed before walking past her.

"No for real, what little boy you was with that day?" Sakina asked tapping her foot with her hand on her hip.

Sakina liked to wait until Ky thought she forgot about something to pop back out with it. This way she couldn't have time to plan no lies or nothing being it was fresh on her mind.

"A nobody." Ky shrugged.

"A nobody, my ass." Her mom said mocking her voice before hitting her in the back of her neck,

"That's exactly what that thing was." Ky said not budging.

"Whatever Senai. He couldn't be too much of a nobody while you was laid up with him with your phone off. Oops I mean 'broke'." Sakina said sarcastically.

"You right. He was somebody while I was laid up with him. He became a nobody when I left." Ky said smartly before adding a laugh to fix it.

"Yea you better chuckle before I beat your ass. I already owe you one." Her mother said mugging her.

"Okay mommy. I'm hungry. What you making?" Ky asked.

"Shrimp and chicken pasta. You wanna help?" Sakina asked ready to pass all the work over to Ky since her feet and back was hurting.

"Yea Ma, just gone on and sit down." Ky said giggling knowing she was finna make her do all the work.

Sakina happily complied, walking over to the couch where Isaiah sat and threw her feet over in to his lap.

"Rub my feet daddy." Sakina giggled, watching him smile and grab her feet.

"MA. ALL THAT IS NOT NECESSARY." Ky yelled out in disgust from the kitchen.

"Girl just cook the food and hush." Sakina laughed.

Ky began seasoning the shrimp that her mom had already peeled, and the chicken she had already cut up.

She pulled out two skillet pans and put butter in both before turning on low heat to both of them on the back burners.

She watched the butter melt down before dumping the chicken into one skillet and the shrimp in to the other.

She saw that her mom had already made the penne noodles and had them sitting in a bowl of cold water.

"Great." Ky said to herself as she moved on to focus on her pasta sauce.

She melted some more butter, adding heavy whipping cream, cream cheese, minced garlic, and her seasonings. After letting that all come together she added her shredded and grated cheese before letting the sauce thicken up.

She let her sauce cook for a while as she went to the freezer to get sone garlic bread knots. She lined those up on a pan and popped them in to the oven.

She then went back to to the stove and cut her shrimp and chicken off. She stirred up her sauce and began tweaking some things about it.

After a while of adding her additional touches, making it perfect to her taste buds, she turned it off.

Ky drained the noodles from the water and added them to her sauce. She then mixed it together on low heat before taking her chicken and shrimp and dumping those in there also.

"Ma taste this." Ky said walking up to her mom on the couch with a little pasta in a paper bowl and plastic fork.

"It's hot, hold on." Isaiah said stopping Sakina from putting the fork of pasta in her mouth. He blew it off before putting it in to her mouth.

"Thank you baby. It's good Ky." Sakina said nodding.

"Yea Pay you did your lil' shit didn't it?" Isaiah asked eating what was left in the bowl.

"Thank y'all." Ky said lightly smiling and going back to the kitchen to take her breads out.

Truth be told, she had gotten in to her feelings seeing her mom and Isaiah. She longed for a love that, at this point, she felt she would never obtain.

She felt like she was always stuck locked up, having no fun, and just feeling depressed. She didn't want to feel like that but everything she did to change her circumstances never worked out.

"Come eat." Ky said after making their plates and sitting them out on the table. She also poured them some pink lemonade.

"You not going to eat?" Isaiah asked her.

"No, I'm okay. All that cooking made me lose my appetite." Ky nervously laughed before she jetted up the stairs.

Ky walked into her room before plopping in her bed. She felt like she wanted to paint but she didn't feel like setting up all that stuff that she knew she wasn't going to want to clean up.

"Let me stop being lazy." Ky spoke out to her self as she walked over to the drawer she had all her art supplies in.

She pulled out a small seven by five painting canvas and her sketching tools. She was going to draw her picture first before pulling out all that paint and possibly making a mess.

Ky began scrolling on Pinterest looking for some type of inspiration. She decided on drawing the splattered version of Plankton from SpongeBob.

"Alexa play Love Yourz by J.Cole." Ky said to her Alexa dot as she began lightly sketching out her drawing.

"No such thing as a life that's better than yours." J.Cole sang lightly over Ky's Alexa as she wiped her tears and erased over her mistakes.

"Stupid fucking pencil." Ky grumbled out before snapping it in half and aggressively wiping the salty tears from her face that kept trickling in to her mouth.

"It all started with that black ass blue-eyed freak. I hate him." She said referring to Javier.

Every since she gave him that chance her life had been horrible. Don't get her wrong, she always felt alone, bored, and basic but her feigning for a relationship was not at an all time high like this.

Ky felt like maybe she rushed in to things too fast since she had never had a man love her but that wasn't to be used as an excuse. These niggas was flat out trifling and dick heads for the way they were treating her.

Ky got up and went back over to get art supplies drawer. She got another pencil and went on and pulled out her paint, paint brushes, and a few paper plates being that she was almost done sketching out her drawing.

Going into her closet, Ky grabbed one of her old raggedy towels that she now used for art. She laid it out over her carpeted floor and began placing all the stuff on top of it.

After she finished, she laid on her stomach, propped up by her elbows and finished up her sketch.

"Alexa play Chaka Khan." Ky mumbled out to her Alexa. It was playing Love Yourz by J.Cole over and over and she was beginning to get irritated with it.

Ky lowly sang along to the song as she looked over her canvas seeing if she could spot any mistakes before she put the paint on it and it was too late.

"Love me now or I'll go crazy Se'Antae!" Ky sang out before laughing. "That was very delusional."

"I know a song." Ky said snapping her fingers as if she came up with a grand idea.

"Alexa play A Long Walk by Jill Scott." Ky said as she sat up and popped open her Apple Barrel Shamrock Green Paint and squirted some on the plate. Then, she popped open her white one and poured that one on the plate too.

After about twenty or thirty minutes of painting, Ky was all finished. All she needed to do now was trace it with her black sharpie and clean up. She held a fan in one hand, letting it dry her painting as she scooped up other stuff in her other hand.

In defeat of not being able to clean up everything with one hand and dry her painting with the other, Ky just got up and began cleaning up properly.

After she finished cleaning up, she went to check on her painting to see if it had finished drying up.

Seeing that it did, Ky picked it and a sharpie up and sat back down on the floor. She began outlining the drawing to crisp up the look. She then opened her camera app and snapped a quick picture for her art gallery.

Ky stared over her painting with a small smile on her face. It came out so cute and neat. She propped it up on her dresser so she could see it everday.

Since she didn't really want an art wall yet, Ky would just prop some of her works on her dresser. Once she did new ones, those would replace the old ones and take their place on the dresser.

Ky called Jaliy so that they could find cute clothes together on face time.

"Hello?" Ky smiled over the phone as she heard Jaliy shuffle on the other end soon after it connected.

"Sakyja. Where you been? I been calling you." Jaliy said finally putting her face in the camera.

"What's wrong?! I'm sorry I been painting, you know I put it on do not disturb when I'm painting. What's wrong, where you at?" Ky rambled, seeing her red and tear filled face and instantly hopping up throwing her feet in her bear slides.

"Jaelun got shot." Jaliy said before her phone dropped making Ky see her bloody white shirt.

"Are you okay?!?" Sakyja screamed feeling her eyes began to water, running down the steps.

"What the fuck wrong with you? Why you yelling?" Sakina asked looking at her crazy.

"Where Isaiah? Juke got shot." Ky said making her mother's face drop.

"He said he was going to handle some business." She said.

"Well I'm going to the hospital. I love you bye." Ky said pulling up Jaliy's location and speeding out the house.

"What happened?" Ky said walking towards Jaliy.

It was Jaliy, Saun, Tae, and some other people Ky didn't know of. That didn't matter to her though, she wanted to make sure her cousin was okay and her best friend.

"I don't know. Saun just called me while they were in the car cause Jaelun told him that he wanted to tell me he loves me. I got here before them because I was right at the subway across the street and he was so bloody. He was so bloody. He was coughing." Jaliy sobbed, stumbling over her words trying to catch her breath.

"It's okay. It's okay." Ky said grabbing her face and rubbing it. " Here. Let's get you out of this shirt." Ky said trying to walk her to the bathroom that was right next to the chairs. She was pulling off her jacket to give to Jaliy.

"You don't even have nothing on for real, it's okay." Jaliy said stopping her.

Ky only had on a white t shirt, pajama shorts, and some bear slippers. Her hair was in this old wig install, pulled back into a bun. The only thing cute about it was her edges that were still maintaining their curly fluffy look.

She knew she looked bunny but she was rushing out the house so fast, she didn't have time to make sure she was properly prepared.

"Jaliy take this freaking jacket." Ky said pulling it all the way off and pushing it into her arms, also pushing her in the direction of the bathroom.

Jaliy just complied and went into the bathroom taking her bloody shirt off and her bra since it was also messed up and trashing them. She pulled Ky's jacket over her body and zipped it up.

Walking back out, her thoughts clouded her mind. She felt like her life wasn't real. Her love for Jaelun was unconditional and for him to leave would be unbearable for her. They had basically just met, they still had so much to experience.

"Jaelun Williams?" The doctor came out making, Jaliy snap out of her thoughts and an older lady who seemed to be his mom stand up quickly.

"Yes ma'am. I'm his mother. Is my baby alright?" Renee, Jaelun's mom, cried out. She had her hands in a prayer position because as she talked and listened she continued to pray.

"Im so sorry Mom." The doctor said reaching in to hug Renee.

"No. No. No no no. My baby. Is he? Is my baby dead?" Renee screamed falling to her knees. Her body had became so weak she couldn't even feel herself breath any more.

"Is he dead?" Saun asked getting up. He wouldn't believe it.

"Technically? No. He's slipped into a coma. He's what doctors would deem as brain dead. He could wake up tomorrow or he could wake up in 2 years. Most people seem to pull the plug after a few days due to financial reasons." The doctor explained making Saun nod and look back at Tae. Tae nodded in response before standing up.

"Ma go home, he straight. How ever long he need, he got it. We not pulling shit." Saun said helping Renee up. "You go home, get some rest so you can be up here with him tomorrow. Same for you Jaliy." Saun said also pulling at her arm so she could get up.

Saun helped them out to their cars. Meanwhile, Tae and Ky sat in the waiting room together.

"Let me hol' atchu. Walk wimme to the car." Tae said to Ky making her just mug him before walking out the door.

"You lucky it's not in me to act out right now or I would cuss your stupid ass out." Ky said shaking her head at him and pointing her finger, but following him to the car.

"Im not tryna' hear all that right na." Tae groaned and huffed lowly so she was made aware that she was being annoying to him.

"Well you're going to. I don- " Ky started before being cut off by Tae grabbing her neck and pushing her up against the trunk of his car.

She stayed quiet as she looked at him. His jaws were clenched and his eyes were blood shot red.

She could see the sadness and stress all in his face but some how he still looked handsome as could be.

Tae aggressively pushed his lips on to hers catching her off guard making her let out a moan in to his mouth. She grabbed his face, pulling him towards her, and deepening the kiss. She felt her heart start beating a thousand times faster and her stomach tighten up.

"That's what you wanted right? You got it." Tae said pulling a way letting her catch her breath. "Get in the car."

Ky complied, pulling open his passenger door and getting in. She shut the door and let out a sigh quickly before he got in. He was getting something out the trunk.

"Put these on." Tae said throwing her some joggers and a thicker shirt than what she had on.

Ky pulled her pajama shorts off because she didn't want her pants to look crazy and pulled on his joggers. She then just pulled the shirt over the one she already had on and sat back in the seat.

"Where have you been?" Ky asked, no longer being able to hold her tongue and refrain her self from asking the question.

"Working." Tae said shrugging, not wanting to get in to this conversation but he knew it was bound to happen.

"Working don't have you going missing for two weeks." Ky rolled her eyes.

"When you do what I do, you can go missing for 2 years." Tae said laughing, thinking about all the old habits he had to pick up to get Jaybo a better lawyer and still continue providing like he been doing.

"What do you do?"

"Im the Candy Man."

"You always think something a game. Just don't worry about it." Ky said mugging him reaching for the handle to get out his car.

Tae hit the locks swiftly and pulled her by her wig to sit back in the seat.

"You won't have no hair, you keep playing." Tae said mugging her.

"Let my fucking wig go." Ky gritted out. She was tired of playing games with him, that's all he liked to do.

"Sakyja what's your problem?" Tae asked looking at her with his face frowned up.

"Nothing."

"Sakyja."

"Se'Antae."

"What the fuck is your problem dude. A nigga be stressed enough just to still have to deal with your childish fucking ass." Tae aggressively said.

"You my fucking problem. You say we nothing then be all up under me then go missing for two weeks. Make your fucking mind up you dick head." Ky said back to him talking with her hands.

"WE AGREED THAT I WOULDN'T BOTHER YOU NO MORE." Tae yelled at her. He usually was a calm cusser but she had him yelling tonight.

"So why in the FUCK are you bothering me now?" Ky said laughing making Tae mug her and yank her head by her wig again.

Ky swung connecting with his chest making him gasp and hold her wig tighter and grab her arm pulling her over the seat on to the middle console.

The car rocked back and forth as they continued

to fight and wrestle, Ky doing most of all the hitting.

"You dumb ass. You a dumb ass." Ky said cocking her fist back and hitting him in his jaw.

"I wish I never met you hoe." Tae spat out grabbing her by her neck and throwing her in to the back seat.

"Yea? Come get this dumb ass lil' girl keys. You drive her car back." Tae said on the phone with Saun who had initially rode with him.

After 2 mins of sitting in silence with the exception of heavy breathing, Saun walked up to the car, knocking on the window.

"Damn is y'all straight?" Saun asked seeing both of their faces with mugs plastered on them as he grabbed the keys from Tae's out stretched hand.

"We cool bih. Imma see you what? Tomorrow?" Tae asked.

"Ya. Same place I guess." Saun said sighing and rubbing his hands over his face.

"He gone be straight. Especially with that thang coming up, you know we got him." Tae said.

"Fasho. Fa shit sho. Imma holla at y'all later tho. Be safe." Saun nodded before dapping Tae up and going to Ky's car.

"What if I didn't want to go with you? Or if I didn't want nobody driving my car?" Ky asked mugging the back of his head.

"Shut the fuck up." Tae said driving off.

"Nobody told you to go missing for two weeks. You really played in my face. That's cool though. Niggas ain't hard to find." Ky laughed in Tae's face making him clench his jaw.

"I told you I was working. How many times I gotta tell you that shit, dumb ass girl?" Tae asked mugging her.

"You don't have to tell me any times bitch." Ky spat out accidentally. She didn't mean to call him a bitch but she was so angry and pissed it was hard to hold her tongue.

Tae snatched her up by her shirt, pulling her body close to his.

"Watch yo' fuckin mouth before it be some shit." Tae said laughing in her face.

"Whatever, b- " Ky started but being cut off by Tae tossing her body aggressively against the bed.

"Keep playing with me Senai. Keep playing."

"I was about to say boy." Ky said truthfully rolling her eyes.

Tae ignored her walking to his kitchen to get ice packs for his face. Ky had for one bruised his jaw up. He also had a small busted lip and a lightly blackened eye. He didn't even feel her hit him in those places but he could definitely see it once he got home in the mirror in good lighting.

"Let me fix your face up." Ky said feeling bad for tweaking out on him like that, following him to the kitchen.

Tae just nodded letting her grab the ice packs from the freezer and walk him to his rest room. Tae sat on the toilet as she stood in front of his body, her legs on either side of his right knee.

"This might burn just a little bit." Ky said referring to the alcohol as she dabbed some on one of her q-tips.

"You ready?" Ky asked making him just look at her. She pressed over the cut on his lip getting a wince in response of the pain.

"Almost done. Only peroxide this time." Ky narrated out to him as she dabbed the other end of the q-tip with peroxide.

She pressed that over the cut and let it bubble for a minute before pat drying it with a cotton round.

Applying neosporin to both the cut and his eye, she stared into his face.

He is so handsome.

"You fine too mama." Tae grumbled out. His tone of voice never really changed. He could be so excited, jumping for joy in the inside, and he would still sound all bleak and bland.

Ky giggled in nervousness thinking that she had said that in her head and also because he called her fine and "mama" in one sentence. She needed to change her underwear.

"You finished?" Tae asked making Ky nod.

Tae just nodded before grabbing her and carrying her out of his bath room and in to his room, throwing her on the bed.

He began kissing her before lowering down to her neck then proceeding to get lower and lower.

He pulled off her tank top well his tank top. When they came in, they showered and washed the day off so they could get a good night's rest.

"This li' shit cute." Tae smiled popping the strap before pulling it off as well. He played with her boobs by rubbing and caressing them. He even began to place kisses on them, every where but the nipple.

"Okay." Tae said nodding but continuing to pull down her shorts.

"Se'Antae." Ky started off before feeling a feeling she never felt before making her gasp loudly.

"Hmmm?" Tae responded only sending vibrations through her vagina making her cry out more.

"Oh my god." Ky cried out trying to close her legs. That only made Tae irritated, leading him to lay on the bed on his stomach and push her legs all the way back against her torso.

"Be quiet." Tae said coming up for a slight second of hair then pushing his face back in it.

"But Tae." Ky whined.

"Shut the fuck up Kyja. This what you wanted right?" He asked before aggressively poking his tongue in and out of her hole.

"I don't know. Yes ." Ky said with her eyes rolling to the back of her head.

"You want a nigga to show you they like you right?" Tae laughed then taking a big lick at her clit, flattening and pressing his tongue against it.

"Oh my fucking god. Yes. Yes. Yessss" Ky said as tears welded in her eyes and her white painted toes curled.

"Watch your mouth. You don't talk like that." Tae said pushing a finger in and out of her.

"I know. It just feel so good oh my god baby." Ky moaned shutting her eyes tightly letting the tears trickle down her face.

"Im baby? I'm baby now?" Tae meddled with her as he watched her hands grip at the sheets and her tears flow down her face.

"Pull these down." Ky instructed him, referring to his briefs that he walked around the house in.

Tae just looked at her. He couldn't bring him self to do it thinking that she was playing around. A frustrated Ky took matters in to her own hands, yanking the loose fitted polo briefs down from that area of his body.

Out popped some thing that had Ky rethinking her choices. It wasn't overly long or monstrous but Ky knew that it was too much for her to handle. It was around 8 inches with a lot of girth, very lots of girth.

"Mntmm." Ky shook her head before getting up going to his bathroom.

"Yes the fuck she has. I'm beating her ass." Tae grumbled thinking his way in to having an attitude.

Soon later, Ky came back out the bathroom with a clean face and hands and a warm towel.

"Hm. Lemme help." Ky said taking the towel and cleaning him up.

"Go to fucking sleep. I can't believe you right now." Tae said side eyeing her as he hopped out the bed to change his underwear.

"Whatever." Ky laughed before actually rolling over and going to sleep.
