CHAPTER EIGHT

Sakyja's Sweetening

"Call me when you need some loveeee" Sakyja sang out and along to Summer Walker as she sketched onto her canvas. She was about to draw and paint this Rick and Morty and Joker inspired drawing she found on Pinterest.

She had just gotten done drawing this car inspired drawing and one with Lisa from The Simpsons.

It had been 2 days since the whole fight with Mera and the falling out with Jaliy. Ky hadn't talked to any one from her friend group. Only person that even texted to check up on her for real was Saun. She appreciated it but she didn't even bother to respond.

Juke had also texted her but it wasn't really to check up on her, it was to see if she wanted to go to the movies with them. She also didn't bother to respond to him because no, she didn't want to go. She hadn't even talked to Jaliy so why would she go hang around her after, especially after she said fuck her.

Sakyja felt like she did nothing wrong. It was her life and her choices and decisions. She honestly didn't feel any feelings towards Javier and had no intent to get back with him. They weren't even close.

Javier would text her checking on her and apologizing for everything he did for like the 1000th and she would say she was fine and hold slight conversations, a few jokes here and there. That was all.

Ky also wasn't on the best terms with her mother because she felt like she was kind of lowdown for not even checking up on her when she told her she had been into a fight. If she was going to yell and blame her, Ky felt like the least she could do was check on her first.

So, they hadn't talked even though they had been around each other. Ky would go eat dinner when her mom cooked and even sit on the couch and watch SpongeBob with her. She was hoping her mom would speak and apologize for the way she did her but she never did. It was always a usual hey and bye.

"People are ass holes" Ky said throwing her pencil down, getting frustrated with her thoughts.

"How are you going to be mad cause I'm talking to who I want to talk to?" She said picking with her nails and talking with her hands. "Then how are you not going to check up on your own daughter after she tells you she's been in a fight? I could've lost, she wouldn't even fucking know!"

"Why you in here cussing like that?" Ky's mom said coming in the room in the middle of Ky's rant scaring her.

"Nothing" Ky responded blandly, picking her pencil back up finishing her sketch so she could go on to painting it.

"It's something" Her mom said walking in sitting on her daughters bed and picking up her phone to turn her music off.

"But it's not so you can turn my music back on, I was listening to that" The girl responded snappily, opening her green acrylic paint and pouring it on her plate.

"Little girl wh- " Sakina started but cut her self off remembering why she came in the room. "What's going on with you Senai?"

"What do you mean?" Ky said staring at her drawing.

"You haven't spoke to me. You haven't went out with your cousin you was just telling me you love so much. You're fighting. When did all this become you?"

"No you haven't spoke to me, I didn't think I always had to speak first. I was fighting cause I was constantly being disrespected just for being around. I told you and you didn't even check up on me, you blamed me and went off on me. You said you were so disappointed in me, I'd changed and I need to go find the old me and you didn't even know the whole story. So I came and spent time to myself to find myself again like you suggested." Ky said continuing to paint, not even looking at her mom.

She knew if she looked at her mom and told her all the hurt she felt weighing on her for the past 3 days, she would do nothing but cry.

"Look, that's what I came in here to talk to you about. Yes I was wrong for faulting you and not even checking up on you when you told me. I was completely in the wrong, no doubt. But you have to understand that when you telling me oh you just got into a fight over Sonic and all this petty crazy ass shit, Im not gone really be too happy."

"Yea but you didn't even give me a chance to even explain it throughly"

"You right. I just feel like I don't want you to get into the wrong things. I want you to always be my sweet baby. I apologize." Sakina said sighing. "What even happened anyways?"

"It's okay. I apologize as well for even giving you something to be disappointed about. I should've continued to ignore the girl because she never going to stop picking with me." Ky said shrugging. "Nothing even really happened. The girl dates one of my cousin's friend and she just felt a lil threatened by the new presence of me and Jaliy. So when I was riding with Tae and stuff to get food and posted about Sonic she saw it and did the most."

"So it's really about her being insecure basically" Sakina said rolling her eyes.

"Yes mommy. I feel like I could've waited to do all that but it was gone come eventually."  Ky shrugged.

"Everything happens for a reason. I just want you to promise me that you won't be out here acting like a hoodlum all the time. Do that shit when it's necessary. You too pretty with a bright future ahead of you. Look at me. You hear me?" She asked grabbing Ky's face, making her look at her.

"Yes mommy I promise" Ky said smiling lightly.

"Good. I love you and I like your painting" Sakina said before kissing her daughter's forehead then walking towards the door to leave.

"I love you too and thank you" Ky said back smiling before hearing her door close.

As, J.Cole played lowly, Sakyja continued to paint her drawing and added her finishing touches to it like the outlines.

"I did very good" Ky mumbled to her self. "Let me post my art works."

Ky began cleaning up all her art supplies and putting them back in her designated art bin. She picked the towel up that she would always paint on and folded it neatly then put it on top of the art bin.

Pulling out some underwear and a big shirt she stole from her mommy's room, she got ready to take a shower.

Ky sat her clothes out on the bed and went to grab a towel out of the dryer before coming back to her room, going into the bathroom, and turning on the shower.

She stripped her clothes off and walked them to the dirty clothes basket in the corner of the room. The girl then walked back to the bathroom and stepped in the shower and began to wash her body.

Later on, she stepped out the shower and grabbed her large body towel, wrapping it around her small body. She walked back in to the room grabbing the yellow african shea butter and coco butter lotion before rubbing the shea butter all over her and the lotion after.

After Ky moisturized her self really good, she pulled her underwear on and put the shirt on after . Ky sprayed the Walmart perfume on for a good scent and sat down on the bed and got on her phone.

The girl scrolled through instagram and replied to the messages of people calling her art cute and answering the ones who were asking if she sold her art.

"That's what I need to do" Ky spoke to herself, swiping out of instagram and going to amazon.

Sakyja wanted to be a lash technician and a hair stylist. She already knew mostly everything about the two, she just had been procrastinating on going ahead and investing into it.

Ky feared that she would get no clients. She felt that people only went to people who were popular to become friends and stuff and not the real talented ones.

She scrolled through amazon and added all kinds of hair and lash products. She also got her a few things she had been looking at but hesitated on buying. She hated spending money.

"I need to call up to Walmart and get my job back don't it ?" Ky asked herself after seeing her total.

It was 334.87 for 19 items but the items was in bulk sizes so she couldn't complain too much.

After she placed her order, she got up and headed downstairs to get something to snack on.

"Oh hey Ky, Isaiah was just asking about you and how you were doing." Sakina said to Ky seeing her walk down the stairs.

"Hey saiah. How you been?" Ky said hugging Isaiah and smiling.

Ky grew to like him. He was making her mom happy so he was making her happy. Plus he always gave Ky what she asked for, she liked that. He had her so spoiled.

"I been good pay. I see you doing good too, lounging around in my 400 dollar shirt." Isaiah said laughing, hugging her back.

Pay was a nickname he gave her cause that's exactly what he always had to do when it came to her. Pay wasn't a bad kid, she always did what she was supposed to and gave her mama no problems. It wasn't nothing he wouldn't do for her.

"This shirt 400 dollars ?!?" Ky asked with her mouth wide, looking down at the shirt. "All it say is gallery department."

"Yes. It's cool though. It's just a shirt" He said shrugging and chuckling.

"Well okay. Mommy are you cooking?" Ky asked rubbing her stomach as she walked to the refrigerator.

"Girl naw. I was actually just about to tell you me and Isaiah actually are about go out. I'm cash-apping you now so you can go get you something to eat or doordash whenever you get hungry" Ky's mom said tapping on her phone.

"Oh okay, thank you. Where y'all going?" Ky asked plopping down on the couch.

"Somewhere to be grown" Isaiah said, hugging Sakina behind and rocking back and forth with her body in his arms.

"Ew please." Ky said making a gag noise and getting up from the couch. "Im about to go take a nap. Y'all be careful. I love y'all"

"We love you too pay and we will" Isaiah said.

"Yes what he said baby" Sakina said grabbing her daughter and pulling her in for a hug and then kissing her cheek.

Ky walked back up the stairs to her room and plopped down into her bed.

Life is soooooooo boring.

She grabbed her remote and scrolled through the home page of her roku tv zoning out at the sound it made every time she clicked. It was very cool and satisfying to her.

She snapped out of her zoning out and finally decided to just watch her usual Octonauts.

Sakyja lovvveeeddddddddd Octonauts.

"Im going to name my kid Kwazii just like him" Sakyja said, smiling and rubbing her feet together.

"Or Peso? That's a good name huh?" Ky asked her self. "I should be writing this stuff down."

"Nevermind who I am fooling? I'll never forget about Octonauts or stop watching it so I'll never forget my baby name. Duuhhhh!" Ky said smiling even more.

Sakyja sat up on her bed with her legs folded in a cross cross and watched a few episodes of Octonauts, singing along to the songs, before feeling her eyes get heavy.

She got up to get under her comforter and dozed off to sleep.

Sakyja woke up from her nap and began patting around in her bed trying to find her phone. She finally could feel it under her hand, making her pick it up. She tapped on her screen continuously until it lit up, showing the time.

5:26 pm.

Sakyja sat up in her bed placing her back against her head board and started off into space. A few minutes later she could feel and hear stomach grumble reminding her she hadn't eaten anything all day.

"I don't even know what I want to eat" She said, yawning soon after.

She got up from her bed and pulled her comforter back, smoothing it out to make her bed look neat and started walking to her bathroom.

Sakyja flicked the light on and looked in their mirror as she stretched. She pulled her mouthwash from off the sink, untwisting the top off, and pouring some in before pouring it in her mouth.

She swished the mouthwash around in her mouth for thirty seconds then spit it out in the sink. She ran the water in the sink for a minute to rinse it out.

Ky pulled at her curly hair thinking about what she should do to it. She wanted some braids but she didn't want to do them her self or sit and get them done.

"I'll think about that later then" Ky said to her self having her growling stomach interrupt her from her thoughts. She separated her hair into 2 ponytails, and fluffed them out so they could fall prettier.

"I don't even feel like doing my edges" She said shrugging, flicking the light switch down and walking out her bathroom.

She walked to her dresser pulling out some shorts, pulling them on and tying Isaiah's shirt up to make them visible.

She slid her crocs on and walked downstairs, grabbing her keys out the bowl all while holding her breath. She was trying to see if she could hold her breath long enough until she made it out the house.

Sakyja walked up to her car hitting the unlock button on her key fob then getting in. She locked her doors so no one try nothing while she was sitting idle trying to pick something to eat.

After a few minutes of thinking and scrolling, Ky decided on just plain old Wendy's.

She pulled her seat belt on and crunk the car up, pulling off while listening to Crooked Smile by J.Cole.

"We ain't picture perfect but we worth a picture still" Ky sang out looking at some of trees as she drove. "IS IT REALLLL??"

She continued to sing along to the song, restarting some time when a certain lyric hit her on a personal level.

Around 7 minutes later, she pulled into the drive through of Wendy's. She sat there on her phone waiting until the person in front of her got done ordering.

"Damn fat ass it wasn't that serious" She said mugging the car behind her through her review mirror after hearing them beep at her. She then pulled up to the speaker and began ordering her food.

"Hey how are you?" Ky said waiting on her response to continue placing her order.

"That's good, I'm doing good as well. Can I get the 10 spicy nuggets meal with a strawberry lemonade?"

"Yes would you like that meal as a large and what will be your sauce?"

"A large would be fine and honey mustard please."

"Okay 9.62. Pull around to the first window for me"

Sakyja pulled up to the first window and pulled out a ten dollar bill.

"Hey how you doing? Your total is 9.62." A younger lady, a teen it looked like, greeted Ky giving her a smile.

"Hey I'm good. Here you go. Don't worry about the change" Ky said smiling back and pulling off to the next window.

Ky grabbed her food and pulled into a parking space. She clicked on Disney Plus and pressed Gravity Falls, placing her phone against the gear shift.

Gravity Falls was her second favorite show behind Octonauts.

Ky pulled out her food from her bag sitting it in her lap. She pulled the top back from her honey mustard before dipping her finger into it then tasting it.

So good. I'd die for honey mustard man.

Ky ate her food and watched her show, watching her surroundings as well, checking every so often.

As she continued to eat, her phone began to ring.

It was Saun calling.

"Hello?" Ky answered as she stuck her straw in and out of her drink.

"Hey sis. What you been up to? I been calling and calling, tryna check on you" Saun answered through a lot of rumbled noise. He must have been driving.

"Nun bubba." Ky answered, purposely ignoring the second part of what he said.

"Why you ignored all the rest of my calls?" He asked, making it hard to avoid the question again this time since it was so straight-foward.

"Just haven't been up to talking I guess" Ky shrugged.

"I know you not tripping off the whole situation with Jaliy. You know she loves you. She been over here looking glum but everytime we tell her call you, she refuses. Y'all both stubborn." Saun chuckled.

"She doesn't have to. I'm not tripping" Ky shrugged. In all honesty, she was definitely tripping. "I been sitting her watching my show, I actually feel a type of way about Javier."

"Man that nigga with that bullshit. All these niggas be with that bullshit. Fuck these niggas mane" Saun said. Ky could see him shaking his head with his face frowned up in her head.

"I know but- I don't know, it's just crazy. I want somebody I can count on to love me and to care for me" Ky said.

"Ky, you hit me I got you. You understand me? Fuck that nigga. I got you! Me. I'm your big brother. You feel me?" Saun asked.

"Yes I hear you." Ky said wiping her few tears.

"And don't ever ignore my calls again. I'll call your mama, I'll track you down" He laughed but still said sternly.

"Im hollering, I hear you." Ky laughed.

"Im serious man. But I called you to invite you to Tae lil shit for his birthday. We supposed to be cooling and going to dinner later that day. It's in bout 2 weeks I believe" Saun said running her the details.

"Who all gone be t- "

"Yes Mera gone be there but I got you. I just miss you man, I want you back around" Saun sighed.

"I'll think about it, most likely gone be a yes since you asking. Plus my mom already asked why I ain't been going around y'all. I miss Juke too but I know he siding with his girlfriend."

"He told me he texted you and asked you did you want to come to the movies with us. He said you never responded."

"Yes he did and no I didn't."

"So how he siding? He want you back around too. Jaliy never told him not to either when he brought up that he was going to ask you. Even though he wasn't gone care if she did." Saun said then laughed. "Mane been on her ass talking about she childish as hell trying to fake mad knowing she miss you.

That made Sakyja laugh because she knew that's exactly how they both acted. They were so stubborn. They would act mad but both knowing they really missed each other.

"I miss him too and lol I feel her" Ky laughed.

"But alright sis. I was just trying to check up on you for the 100th time. Im glad this time was successful. I love you" Saun said.

"I love you too bubba, be safe" Ky said.

"You too"

Sakyja triple tapped the phone, per usual, hanging up. She got all her trash together putting it back in the bag so she could easily throw it all out.

She crunk her car up and backed out of the parking space she was in. She pulled up to a trash can and rolled her window down, tossing her trash into it.

"Do I need to do do anything or get anything while I'm out?" Ky asked her self. "Some pads and some wipes. Some snacks probably too"

She drove towards Walmart to pick up her items, calling her mom on the way.

"Hey do you or Isaiah need anything from the store, Walmart"

"Hey I don't think so let me ask him" Sakina answered before Ky heard a lot of shuffling.

"He says no but thank you"

"Welcome, bye bye" Ky said hanging up the phone after she said it back.

Sakyja pulled up to Walmart, getting out, and locking her doors after.

She went in and grabbed a basket, wiping the handle off with a sanitizing wipe.

She walked towards the pads first since that area was closer. She picked up her Always flex-foam pads and then headed towards the baby section to get her wipes.

After she picked up her wipes, she started going towards the food aisles. As she was looking at chips, someone started talking to her.

"Ky is that you?" They said making her turn around and look.

It was Ms.Charade, her old manager.

"Hey Ms.C, how you been?" Ky said smiling.

"Hey my baby. I been good how you been?"

"Just living, just living" Ky answered.

"When you gone come back up here with me? These employees don't do right for me" She sighed.

"I actually thought about that today. I'll probably come back when I get all my stuff together for my business, and get it up and running. I'll probs only do part-time though."

"That's fine with me baby. I just need you back here ASAP." Ms.C laughed, pinching Sakyja's cheeks.

"Ima come back Ms.C, I promise." Ky smiled

"Well okay hunny, I'll leave you to your shopping. See you later."

"Alright see you later" Ky said back looking back towards her chips.

Sakyja continued her shopping, picking up chips, candy, pasta bowls, pickles, and icecream. She also picked up some ranch chicken from the deli for her dinner tonight.

She headed towards self-checkout, ringing and bagging up all her items. She payed then left out, going home.

took me 3/4 days to write this! Filler chapters give you the worst writers block. anyways no i did not proof read! if i messed some up just think real hard on what i probably meant!
