Geon Hyeong immediately headed to the Seongbuk area. Why did his father’s face appear in Jung Won’s family album? Then, it felt like he was familiar with Jung Won’s mother’s smiling face while carrying Jung Won in her belly.

No, to be more precise, even though he doesn’t remember that face, he still remembers seeing a photo of his father in a similar pose to that photo. It was a very long time ago.

It was possible that the person in the photo was different from the person in the photo she was referring to. It must be. But why was his father with that woman?

Geon Hyeong shook his head imagining various possibilities that crossed his brain. His hands that were holding the steering wheel tightly seemed to slowly turn pale.

The Goryo Group’s big family house was located in the Namsan area. The gate was made of sturdy wood with yellow-colored walls surrounding the house area.

Some distance away from the gate, there was a magnificent and beautiful hanok-style house with a blue roof. But right now, all that splendor and beauty was completely invisible to Geon Hyeong’s eyes.

“What are you doing here, I didn’t call you.”

“You should have come with Jung Won.”

“You’re really going to marry her?”

Seeing Geon Hyeong’s unexpected visit, the married Kim couple and Mrs. Oh asked him a lot of questions, but Geon Hyeong currently didn’t have time to answer them one by one.

“I came because of that photo.”

“The photo?”

“You must remember it even though it’s an old photo. You told me to look for that woman once.”

Hearing Geon Hyeong’s brief explanation,  married Kim couple instantly understood what photo Geon Hyeong was referring to.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Oh looked at them with a curious face. There seemed to be something she didn’t know between these three people.

“Because of what? Did you find her?”

“There’s something I want to confirm first.”

“If you can say that, then you’ve found it. Who?”

President Kim pressed Geon Hyeong even more when he heard his flat answer.

“She came to you by herself?”

“No. I think I found her.”

Geon Hyeong’s very serious gaze suddenly seemed to waver. President Kim and his wife looked at Geon Hyeong’s unusual behavior.

This child had never shown his emotions in front of his family. What made their grandson look panicked like this? Suddenly curiosity and impatience came over the couple.

President Kim gestured with his eyes to his wife, and Mrs. Hwang hurriedly stood up to take the photo.

“Father, what is this? Whose woman is it?”

“You don’t need to know yet. Go on your way. I’ll explain later.”

“No. I need to know about this, too.”

Mrs. Oh insisted despite her father-in-law’s orders. What’s going on? Why did Geon Hyeong look panicked like that? There’s no mistaking it, this must be a big problem.

“Who? Who is the person? Your face is like that.”

“Still not sure.”

“If we do a genetic test, the results will be known immediately. Whether she is our family or not.”

“I don’t want to do that.”

Hearing the words ‘genetic test’ and ‘our family’, Mrs. Oh understood the situation and Geon Hyeong’s face looked even more tense.

President Kim, who was responsive to the situation, was about to say something, but Geon Hyeong’s entire attention was focused on the photo brought in by his grandmother.

Geon Hyeong just held his breath realizing that the woman in the photo was the same as the photo of Jung Won’s mother that he had seen earlier at Jung Won’s house.

“Is it……?”

“I’m still not sure.”

Geon Hyeong tried hard to hide his disappointment and replied in a flat tone. The words written on the photo. A photo set in Hwaniwon. Then the genetic test.

Mrs. Oh was just about to take the photo from Geon Hyeong’s hand, but Geon Hyeong warned her sternly.

“This is none of Mom’s business.”

“Right. You keep quiet first.”

“But why are you acting like this?”

Mrs. Hwang said gently to her daughter-in-law, while President Kim pressed Geon Hyeong again. Everyone in the room knew that Geon Hyeong’s answer that ‘he didn’t know’ was a lie.

“What do you mean?”

“There must be a reason why you’re suddenly acting like this. This photo has been kept in the reading room for more than 10 years.”

President Kim asked while watching Geon Hyeong intently. His grandson had always controlled his emotions since he was 23 years old. However, since 10 years ago, this was the first time he saw his grandson’s face full of fear and worry.

“Is it that child?”

“That child?”

Mrs. Oh’s sharp voice that she had been holding back came out, but no one in the room noticed her words. President Kim kept looking at Geon Hyeong straight on. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hwang couldn’t say anything to comfort her daughter-in-law.

“Call that child here.”

“Jung Won doesn’t know about this.”

Hearing President Kim’s firm orders as if reading Geon Hyeong’s mind, Geon Hyeong just shook his head slowly. No, it wasn’t Jung Won who was the problem right now.

Right now, he really wasn’t ready to accept this. Seeing his grandson’s anxious gaze, President Kim couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.

“So, are you really serious about that child?”

“Why do you think I’m not serious?”

“There’s something fishy. I don’t think that kid is someone who would just date you for 50 million won.”

It turned out that his grandfather was indeed a scary person. Geon Hyeong just laughed softly in response to his grandfather’s casual and sharp attack.

When President Kim first met Jung Won, he thought there was no problem with the girl. The problem was Kim Geon Hyeong, his stubborn grandson.

The woman Geon Hyeong brought back then was a woman with a much different mindset than Geon Hyeong, different from all of them. Therefore, he was actually satisfied in his heart. However, now it turns out that the woman is part of this family?

President Kim was just as anxious and panicked as Geon Hyeong.

“You think I don’t know?”

“No, I didn’t. I still don’t want to underestimate your ability.”

Even in a difficult situation like this, the grandson still dared to say ‘still’ nonchalantly and seemed to challenge President Kim.

“Even if you are serious about that child, what can I do? It looks like that child is part of our family.”

“Grandfather.”

President Kim did not stop his speech even though Geon Hyeong had warned him.

Our family? He didn’t want to make Jung Won a part of his family in this way.

“Shin Hee’s family formally proposed marriage. I was going to reject it, but if the situation is like this, I think I should rethink it again.”

“There’s nothing to change.”

Geon Hyeong muttered softly, but his own words sounded meaningless to his own ears. Right now, his condition did not allow him to argue with his grandfather.

“Father!”

“I understand how you feel. I’m sorry. It’s not that I meant to curse at people who no longer exist, but for now, I don’t like my own son’s attitude either.”

President Kim pretended not to understand Mrs. Oh who protested to him and apologized on behalf of his son.

His only son really liked playing with girls. He was also kind to everyone. To other women, except for his daughter-in-law who was forced to marry him because of politics, his son was a good man. That’s why now President Kim regrets his mistake. He felt very guilty to his son, to his daughter-in-law, and also to Jae Hyun.

“Since it’s like this, you should marry Shin Hee. Even though your relationship is a bit fractured with her, her family will bring good influence to Goryo Group.”

“No. I can’t do that.”

Geon Hyeong said in a flat, cold, and firm tone while shaking his head.

Marriage? Then, that woman is his sister? It was then that Geon Hyeong realized his own feelings. The feelings of why he couldn’t marry Shin Hee, and his feelings for Jung Won.
