From Left to Right: Megan and Mandy
The snow outside was coming down steadily, blanketing the streets and rooftops in a soft white glow. Inside, Megan and Mandy had the perfect setup: cozy blankets, steaming mugs of hot cocoa, and a roaring fire that filled the living room with warmth. They were both stretched out on the couch with their bare feet propped up on the coffee table as they chatted and laughed.
"Tell me again why you're incapable of wearing socks like a normal human being?" Megan teased, glancing at Mandy's feet.
Mandy grinned, wiggling her toes. "Because I'm embracing my natural state. Besides, you're not exactly setting a better example, Miss 'Toes-on-the-Coffee-Table.'"
Megan chuckled and leaned back, taking a sip of her cocoa. "Fair point. But at least I don't flaunt it."
Before Mandy could retort, the sound of the front door opening interrupted them. In walked Kenny, holding a bag of snacks and flashing his trademark mischievous grin.
"Well, well, well," Kenny said, his eyes immediately falling on the scene before him. "Two ladies, cozy on the couch, and not a sock in sight. Is this what I've been missing out on?"
Megan rolled her eyes. "Oh, look, it's the peanut gallery. Took you long enough."
Mandy laughed. "Don't mind Megan. She's just mad because I'm winning the 'most relaxed' award tonight."
"Winning?" Megan shot back. "You wish."
Kenny dropped the bag of snacks on the coffee table and plopped down in a nearby armchair. "You two are at it again, huh? You know, I think it's time we settle this 'competition' once and for all."
"Oh, no," Megan said, narrowing her eyes. "I know that look. Whatever you're thinking, the answer is no."
Mandy, however, seemed intrigued. "What are you suggesting, Kenny?"
Kenny smirked. "A tickle challenge. Let's see who can hold out longer."
Megan groaned, sinking deeper into the couch. "Oh no! Absolutely not!"
Mandy grinned. "Come on, Megan. Don't be scared. What's the worst that could happen?"
"The worst," Megan said flatly, "is that you'll laugh so hard you spill cocoa everywhere, and I'll be the one cleaning it up."
"Sounds like someone's scared," Kenny said, leaning forward. "Don't worry, Megan. I'll go easy on you."
Before Megan could protest further, Mandy extended her foot toward Kenny. "Alright, let's see what you've got."
Kenny didn't hesitate. He reached out and began lightly running his fingers along Mandy's arch. She squirmed immediately, bursting into giggles as she tried to keep her composure.
"Oh, come on, Mandy," Megan teased. "That's pathetic."
Through her laughter, Mandy managed to say, "You... won't... last... either!"
Kenny grinned and turned his attention to Megan. "Your turn."
"Nope," Megan said, pulling her feet back. "Not happening."
"Oh, it's happening," Kenny said, grabbing one of her ankles and pulling her foot back onto the coffee table. His fingers danced along her sole, and Megan's defiance quickly gave way to uncontrollable laughter.
"Okay, okay!" Megan squealed. "I take it back! Mandy's the worst!"
Mandy, now recovered, grinned wickedly. "Oh, no. You're not getting out of this that easily." She grabbed one of Megan's other feet and joined Kenny in the tickling assault.
The room filled with laughter as Megan writhed on the couch, barely able to catch her breath. "You guys are the worst!" she managed between giggles.
"Just admit it," Kenny said. "I'm the undefeated tickle champion."
"Never!" Megan cried, though her laughter betrayed her resolve.
After a few more minutes, the tickling subsided, and the three of them collapsed in a heap of laughter, wiping tears from their eyes.
"I hate you both," Megan said, though her smile said otherwise.
"Love you too," Mandy replied, raising her mug in a toast. "To Kenny, the instigator of chaos."
"And to Megan," Kenny added, "for being such a good sport."
They clinked their mugs together, the warmth of their friendship making the winter evening feel even cozier.
