Chapter 46: Wedding Day Laughter Part 2: The Bride's Turn

The soft golden glow of fairy lights bathed the private bridal lounge in warmth. Stone walls and plush seating gave the space an intimate, cozy feel, a perfect retreat after the excitement of the wedding day. Four women lounged on the oversized couch, the hum of faint music drifting from somewhere outside the lounge doors.

Lily, the radiant bride, had finally kicked off her pristine white heels and propped her bare feet on a cushioned ottoman in front of her. She let out a long sigh of relief, her gown pooling around her like a cloud. Bethany, Emily, and Grace—her three bridesmaids—were sprawled comfortably nearby with champagne glasses in hand and their laughter mingling with the flickering candlelight.

Emily raised her glass with a sly grin. "To the most beautiful bride and an unforgettable day!"

"To Lily!" Bethany and Grace chimed in, raising their glasses before all four clinked them together.

Lily smiled brightly. "You three have been my lifeline today. I don't know how brides do this without their best friends."

As the laughter died down, Bethany's gaze lingered on Lily's bare feet, now crossed at the ankles and relaxed against the ottoman. She nudged Emily with her elbow and subtly tilted her head toward Lily's feet. Emily bit her lip to keep from grinning as Grace caught on, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"You know, Lily," Emily began, her voice casual, "you missed out on some pretty hilarious bonding time this morning."

Lily raised an eyebrow, taking another sip of champagne. "Oh? What exactly did I miss?"

Grace smirked. "Let's just say... it involved feet, petals, ribbons, and a lot of giggling."

Bethany set down her glass with a playful sigh. "It's tradition now, Lil. And you, my dear bride, are the last one who hasn't participated."

Lily's smile faltered as realization dawned on her. She glanced at her exposed feet, then back at her three friends, who were now inching forward with mischievous smiles.

"Oh no," Lily said quickly, shifting her feet back slightly. "No way, absolutely not!"

But Bethany was already leaning over, her fingers trailing lightly along the arch of Lily's right foot.

Lily let out an involuntary squeal, jerking her foot back with a sharp laugh. "Bethany! No, no, no!"

Emily chuckled. "Oh, come on, Lily. It's tradition now—you can't be the odd one out!"

Before Lily could protest again, Grace reached for her left foot, her fingertips skimming lightly over Lily's sole. Lily erupted into laughter, squirming and trying to pull her feet away, but Bethany and Grace had already secured their playful grip.

"Stop! You three are terrible!" Lily cried between gasps of laughter, her cheeks flushed as she squirmed against the ottoman.

"Terrible? Us?" Bethany teased, using her finger to draw a slow circle along the ball of Lily's foot. "We're giving you the full bridesmaid experience!"

Emily joined in, wiggling her fingers teasingly over Lily's exposed toes. "Tickle, tickle, tickle, Mrs. Newlywed!"

Lily's laughter grew louder as she tried to curl her toes and kick her feet free. "You three are insufferable! I... can't... breathe!"

The bridal suite filled with the sound of joyful chaos. Lily's giggles blended with her bridesmaids' laughter as they teased her with feather-light touches. At one point, Grace paused and plucked a tiny white petal from a flower in the bridal suite.

"Let's see if this works," Grace said, dragging the petal slowly down Lily's arch.

"NO!" Lily howled, her head falling back against the couch as tears of laughter welled in her eyes.

Eventually, the tickling slowed, and the bridesmaids let go of Lily's feet, collapsing back into their seats in a fit of giggles. Lily gasped for breath, wiping a tear from the corner of her eye.

"You three are the absolute worst bridesmaids ever," she said, though her wide smile betrayed her words and any real annoyance.

Bethany shrugged with mock innocence. "We couldn't let you miss out on the fun, Lil."

Grace raised her glass again. "To traditions, weddings, and a bride who can't keep her feet still!"

"To Lily!" Emily chimed in, and the four women clinked their glasses together one final time.

Lily shook her head with a grin, finally leaning back into the couch cushions. "Alright, alright. I'll admit it—that was pretty fun. But if you three even think about doing that again, I'm hiding under the table!"

Laughter filled the bridal lounge once more, the glow of friendship and warmth lingering in the air. The four women savored the moment, knowing it was one they'd treasure for years to come.

It was a day they'd never forget, sealed with love, laughter, and one last ticklish memory.
