Thud!
A huge pile of books was piled up in front of Glynne. His lips twitched as he counted the huge amount of books.
"Principal? What's all of this?" the boy asked. His sight shifted to the small child still bringing in more books from the bookshelves.
"Hm, didn't you get my memo?" Theresa tilted her head while stacking up another pile of books. "Didn't I wrote to you that you need be keep up with your studies?"
"Still... this is too many for just being absent for three weeks!" Glynne protested. Cold sweats kept running down his back as he watch the pile grow more and more.
"Oh, I didn't say anything about the lessons you missed when you are recovering on the hospital though." Theresa said as she showed a mischievous grin. "It came to me that you have been struggling on your studies. Obviously it was my fault since I decided to suddenly enter you in the same year level as your age group despite not having the minimum requirements for it. That's why I'm helping you now to learn all the lessons you skipped." she explained as she patted the new pile of books besides her.
"T-this is unfair! How can I learn all of this in such a small time?!" Glynne complained. Just by taking a glance over the titles of the books, he can tell that all of them are quite complex.
"Don't worry, I'm not pushing you to do it. " Theresa tiptoed as she struggles to give Glynne a headpat. "But you need to remember that all your new toys are still with me."
Glynne's eyes shine in realization. He almost forgot the new equipment he ordered before he goes into rampage. But now that Theresa reminded him of it, he felt some sort of excitement of wanting to test them out.
This wasn't the time to waste any time, he grabbed the book Theresa is presenting and quickly scanned their contents.
He noticed how each pile are the divided by subjects and how close each topic relate to one another. Opening multiple books at the same time, he quickly crossed reference all their contents.
Theresa smiled, the carrot-on-a-stick tactic work. However it seems like it worked a bit too much. She watches how Glynne was absorbing the knowledge on the book in a fast pace.
Though she intended this as a preparation for the upcoming exam, she also grabbed this as an opportunity to punish him for doing the kidnapping stunt.
However at this pace, she didn't think it wouldn't be challenging for the boy at all. There is still the mock test after this though, Theresa decided to wait and see if he could pass the questions the she craftily made.
@@@@@@@@@@
It was afternoon, Theresa's mischievous smile started to become stiff. Glynne manage to finished all the piled up books in just a couple of hours. She can't believe it so she gave him the test if he really did properly learned them. To her surprised, the boy got about 3/4 of the total questions.
Is he a genius? â Theresa thought. However she quickly shrugged it off as this might be because of the effects of baiting him with the new equipment.
She let out a sigh. She wanted to punish the boy but she cannot stay angry at him for long because of this. It is appropriate to just give him the promised bargain.
"Hm? Ah, sorry but will you let me finish this first?" However Theresa was quickly shot down when she suggested to get his new equipment.
Glynne seems to have become quite fond of reading books, particularly on the Schicksal Tech subject. Despite doing a reading spree a while ago, he picked up an advance looking book on the shelf and begin reading again.
Theresa don't know if she would be happy for the boy, or be angry for ignoring her. However she can't afford to distract him as he seems to be concentrating harder than a while ago.
Theresa heard footsteps coming near them. Now that she think about it, the classes for today has already ended.
"Good afternoon, Principal" Fu hua greeted as soon as she saw Theresa.
The small nun look to her side and saw the four girls; Fu hua, Kiana, Mei, and Bronya, walking towards them. "How can I help you?" she asked, though she might have already guessed it.
"Actually we came here to check on Glynne." Mei replied. "If possible we wanted to help him in his studies too."
"HmHm" Theresa nodded, seeming satisfied. Students helping each other was something was a sight for sore eyes for every teachers. However there is one little tiny problem, "Sorry but we are finished already."
"What are taking about, Principal? Glynne is still studying there?" Kiana said as she pointed at the boy on the other side of the table. He has his back straightened, one feet over the other, and a book on one hand as he flip the page with the other. For some reason, he is reading in such a majestic pose.
"Ah that...." Theresa has a distant look in her eyes as she told the girls what happened.
"W-wait, really!?" Kiana said in a flustered manner. "I thought his an idiot!?"
"Don't drag him into your level, Kiana Idiotka." Bronya reprimanded while casually putting some sarcasm.
"I'm quite surprised as well." Mei said as she put a hand on her chin.
"Principal, you said you already finished grading his mock test right?" Fu Hua said seemingly calm, "Can I see it?"
"Sure" Theresa agreed seeing no problem sharing his answer sheet. She thought that the person wouldn't really mind it seeing he just there not paying any attention to them. She pass some papers to Fu Hua.
............
.......
...
"I see, so that was the case." Fu Hua concluded after examining his paper.
"What is it?" Kiana asked, curious as she also took a peek at Glynne's paper.
Fu Hua raise her glass as she shared her analysis on Glynne's tactics of fast pace learning.
Basically, he is studying using deduction and analysis method. After learning the basics, he use those to analyze complex questions and deduct them simpler ones. That is the reason why his technical subjects score are high. This is also might be the reason why he can read so fast, he filters out the necessary informations that are written in the books.
However he seems to be bad at memorizing, this is evident in his average scores in history and social studies subjects. There is also a lot of erasure marks in the paper, this means he was unsure in a lot of his answers.
"I'm amaze you are able to conclude that from just looking at his test papers." Mei praised.
Theresa nodded, she also agree with Mei.
Meanwhile, Kiana has her head slumped on the table. For some reason she felt defeated.
"....." Bronya didn't say anything. She just walk towards Glynne and peek over his shoulders. Luckily she can float so she didn't have a hard time putting her head on the same level as the boy.
"If you're planning to upgrade the power, Bronya suggest you read another book." she said.
Glynne was startled by the sudden voice and subconsciously look over his shoulders. It was a mistake though, his lips connected on Bronya's cheek.
Glynne quickly stood up and back away. "B-Bronya!? I-I'm sorry, I didn't meant to do that!" he said, flustered by the accidental peck on the cheeks.
"...... Bronya understand" she replied. However Glynne didn't feel that reassured as there was a pause.
He peeked at her face and for some reason it was turning red. As he expected, despite not showing a lot of emotions, Bronya will still be embarrassed by that.
"Sorry, Bronya remembered Bronya still need to do something." she said as she excused herself. Glynne just watched the the floating girl exiting the room.
"Glynne.... "
The boy felt a chill run down his spine. He slowly turned his head to the side. Cold sweat begun running down his forehead as he was meet it multiple cold glares.
"You. Training grounds" Despite Kiana only saying three words, Glynne understood the message as he gulped down for the incoming danger.
