Chapter 9 of 93

Where I'm With You

Poems About Him276 words~2 min read

Can't we just be together?

It doesn't have to be forever.

I just want to lie in a meadow of peace.

And then you pick a flower

The prettiest, most divine, flower;

Incredibly beautiful

And then you grin at me and say,

"This reminds me of you."

And I'm happy.

And I'm satisfied.

And I'm calm.

Because it's where I'm with you.

So can we be together?

It doesn't have to be forever.

I want to cuddle with you

On the darkest, dreariest nights

On your couch and watch a movie

And scream and jump

As The Conjuring slowly progresses

And I laugh and cry

And you hold me close

And whisper in my ear,

"You're safe here."

And I am.

And I'm happy.

And I'm brave.

And I'm courageous.

Because it's where I'm with you.

Why can't we be together?

It doesn't have to be forever.

I want to be able to cry out every tear

In a corner but not alone

Whenever I'm under the weather.

I want you to be my blanket

Holding and comforting me.

Keeping me safe and warm.

And then you kiss me and whisper,

"You look better in a smile."

And I'm happy.

And I'm cured.

And I'm okay.

Because it's where I'm with you.

I'm uncertain we'll be together.

But at least let it not be never.

At least let me see you once in a while.

At least let me talk to you once every week

At least come up to me, and say,

"Do I know you?"

And I'm distressed.

And I'm unhappy.

And I'm unwell.

But I'm still okay,

Because it's where I'm with you.
