joys and sorrows combined

I've been conflicted by my thoughts,

Trapped in the back of my mind,

And I tried to hide it but for naught,

For my heart has its own mind,

Emotions surge like untamed tides,

Leaving reason far behind,

In this battle that twists my insides,

Peace isn't an easy thing to find.

Yet hope remains, a far guiding light,

Like magic of some kind,

Perhaps these struggles of every night,

Are but growth, with suffering entwined.

So I'll embrace what life has brought,

Both the joys and sorrows combined,

For in this journey, I have being taught,

To leave no part of me behind.
