Chapter 3 He Deserved It
Still, Vania remained calm on the surface as she said, âThis isnât my doing. Galaxy Corporation intends to work with Luke Corporation and would never risk that much over a small mistake like this. As for me, 10 million is just the price of a handbag, and thereâs no need for me to go to such great lengths and hack into Luke Corporationâs firewall just for this amount of money. Since someone has framed me, Iâll definitely look into this matter as soon as possible and give you an appropriate explanation, President Luke.â
Hanson stared at her before he replied indifferently, âIf thatâs the case, Iâll be waiting for your answer, Miss Greyson.â
Before she left, he added, âI want to remind you of one more thing, Miss Greyson. This isnât a good way to try to draw my attention.â
After all, he had met too many women who would do anything just to get close to him.
At his words, Vaniaâs expression stiffened. âDonât worry, Iâm not interested in a big shot like you, President Luke. Regarding todayâs issue, Iâll investigate it as soon as possible and give you a satisfactory explanation.â
Saying that, she exited without even looking back, not caring about the partnership anymore. After leaving the company, she rushed back to Haling Villa. As she stepped into the house, the first thing she saw was three children sitting on the couch. They were all dressed the same, and their looks were already extraordinary at a young age as each of them obediently read their own books.
Upon seeing Vaniaâs return, the children surrounded her with smiles on their faces as they called out cutely, âMommy.â
They looked absolutely naive and harmless, making Vaniaâs anger dissipate by a good amount. These three were her children that had lived in her belly for ten months. Back then, in the hospital, she had given birth to five babies, but they were sold off to different human traffickers by Melanie. It was only by spending a huge amount of money and buying off the nurse who worked for Melanie that she was able to acquire a lead on her childrenâs whereabouts.
Fortunately, the human traffickers were only in it for the money, and as long as she had enough, she could get her children back. Still, there were two more children that she couldnât find any trace of until now. For the past five years, she had been looking for them tirelessly, but alas, her efforts bore no fruit.
Thinking about Hansonâs warning from before, Vania was not bewitched by the childrenâs adorable appearances and said sternly, âThree of you, listen carefully. I have a question for you, and you better answer me honestly.â
This was the first time that Vania was speaking to her precious children so strictly.
Their expressions remained natural as they replied simultaneously, âWeâll answer honestly, Mommy.â
The eldest son, James, took the initiative to ask, âWhatâs wrong, Mommy?â
Vania adjusted her expression, her face turning strict. âAbout Luke Corporationâsâ¦â
âIt wasnât us.â The three children piped up in unison again.
She hadnât even finished her sentence, but they were already denying it? Werenât they just blowing their own cover? Vaniaâs eyes narrowed into a glare; she was infuriated.
Then, James spoke up again, saying, âMommy, what happened?â
Her second son, Jack, chimed in, âYeah, whatâs Luke Corporation?â
The third child, Jacob, was even more adorable as he put on a pitiful expression. âMommy, why are you mad at us?â
The three of them looked like they were about to cry.
All of this is just an act⦠Others might have been fooled, but Vania knew better than anyone else that although her children were only five years old, they were exceptionally good at technology.
The eldest son, James, was calm and composed, giving off a natural air of extravagance. At a young age, he already possessed traits of a leader, not to mention his impressive, extraordinary computing skills.
Meanwhile, the second son, Jack, was smart, thoughtful, and had a little bit of a sharp tongue. Though he was just a child, he already had an amazing photographic memory and was their little strategist.
On the other hand, the third son, Jacob, was very different from his two elder brothers. He liked candies and money, and although his IQ was obviously not any lesser than his brothers, he liked to play dumb to take advantage of others the most. Besides, he still had a little baby fat on his face, making him the most difficult to resist.
However, Vania was not swayed by her childrenâs teary eyes and still remained strict as she asked, âTell me your reason.â
Seeing that their mother was being so certain, the three children exchanged glances, as if knowing they couldnât hide it anymore. In an instant, they put their whining voices away and returned to their usual demeanor, causing Vania to be taken aback by their skillful acting.
Still the spokesperson of the three, James said calmly, âHe looks like heâs more gullible.â
Following immediately after was Jackâs sharp remark. âHe looks like a useless man, and we were right. He couldnât even defend his own companyâs firewalls.â Saying that, he even spread his arms to show his disdain.
Vania was almost driven up a wall by their words. Gullible? Useless? He was the head of the almighty Luke Corporation and was a legendary existence in Hillsworth. Since when did he look gullible and useless?
Jacob went along with his brothers and pouted. âMommy, did that man try to bother you? If he dares to bully you, weâll hack all of his funds. That way, we can use his money to buy ourselves candies.â
The other two boys clenched their tiny fists. âJacob is right. If he dares to bully you, Mommy, weâll take everything away from him and leave him with nothingânothing but his underwear.â
Hearing that, Vania didnât know if she should laugh or cry. She believed that these three little devils were fully capable of this, but she didnât want to go directly against Luke Corporation. After all, Luke Corporation was filled with talents, and if they managed to trace this back to her, things wouldnât end well. Even so, she was still very touched by her childrenâs wishes to protect her.
However, even if she was moved, she couldnât turn a blind eye to them. âSweethearts, Iâm really touched that youâd protect me like this, but what you did isnât right. How could you hack someoneâs firewalls and steal their money?â
âHe deserved it,â Jack muttered under his breath.
