Chapter 6 Successfully Drew His Attention
Hansonâs gaze was cold and terrifying, and if it were anyone else, they wouldnât have survived his stare. Even though Vaniaâs expression had never changed since the beginning, she felt like she was going insane in her mind.
What she was worried about still happened! Her children really loved âsurprisingâ her in every way. It was no wonder that Hanson would come over at this time, then. If it had been her companyâs Financial Departmentâs system that was hacked twice in a row, she might have exploded long ago. Why were her children going against Hanson?
Although she was full of doubts, she still remained calm on the surface. âI see. Then, you may come in and have a look for yourself, President Luke. Itâs just that this is a big issue, so please donât frame an innocent person.â
âDonât worry, Miss Greyson. Iâve never had the habit of accusing others.â
Saying that, he immediately entered the premises. The house was decorated minimalistically with a unique design, and the mature style suited her extremely well. After scanning his surroundings, it didnât seem like there was any trace of another person. Hansonâs brows furrowed as he looked Vania up and down. Was she good at pretending, or was there another reasonâ¦
At the same time, the three children in the bedroom were pressing their ears against the door and listening to the voices outside.
Jack clenched his fist. âIf the Devil dares to bully Mommy, weâll go out immediately.â
James shook his head at the impulsive Jack and dissuaded, âWe canât. Weâve already promised Mommy, so we canât go back on our word. If we want to teach the Devil a lesson, there are many other ways to do that in the future.â
Jacob agreed with James. âWe have to listen to Mommy.â How could the Devil compare to his ice cream, anyway?
Alas, their voices seeped outside the door. Although the content of their conversation couldnât be heard clearly, it was obvious that there was someone in the room. With a smile that didnât reach his eyes, Hanson glanced at Vania before striding to the room.
Her heart nearly falling out of her throat, Vania cried out, âPresident Luke, you canât enter that room!â
At that, Hanson stopped in his tracks. âOh? What are you worried about, Miss Greyson?â
âWho said Iâm worried? Donât you think that it isnât a good idea for a man like you to barge into a womanâs room so suddenly?â Vania stepped in front of Hanson and blocked him from proceeding.
âMiss Greyson, are you feeling guilty? Iâve already told you my reason, and I have to see this room today. Iâd advise you not to stop me.â His tone made it clear that he didnât accept no for an answer.
Hearing that, Vania became aggressive as well and retorted coldly, âThis is my house. Without my permission, you donât have the right to look inside!â
âHa, then how are you going to explain why you hacked into Luke Corporationâs internal systems multiple times?â
Their chilly gazes sparked as they clashed with one another, neither of them willing to give in.
Hanson scoffed coldly. âIf thatâs the case, letâs meet in court!â
âIâll be waiting.â Vania was scared of nothing. Sheâd rather see him in court than let her babies get into trouble!
Just then, the room door suddenly opened, causing her heart to stop. However, when she saw who had come out from inside, she evidently let out a breath.
The babysitter, Theresa, held a small branch in her hand and explained to Vania huffily, âA cat showed up from God knows where, but Iâve already chased it away.â
A smile reappeared on Vaniaâs face. âThanks for your hard work. You can leave now.â
This mustâve been the doing of those three brats.
âYes, Miss.â
Turning around, Vania looked at Hanson, who was frowning and staring into the room, with a relaxed gaze. âPresident Luke, now that youâve had a look, you donât have a say anymore. Itâs late, so Iâd like you to leave.â
Hanson glanced at the room, then back at her. His eyes were filled with an indescribable emotion as he said, âGoodbye.â
He was certain that there was still someone else inside. After all, Vaniaâs nervousness didnât escape his notice.
After he left, Vania sat on the couch, relieved. It was only after gulping down a large glass of water that her nervousness dissipated. Immediately, she called out to her children, âKids, Iâm sorry for earlier.â
âMommy, weâre fine.â
Vania looked at her three children and sighed. âI donât care why you hacked Luke Corporationâs systems, but I hope this matter ends here.â Her expression was very serious as she declared, âTomorrow, you have to return the 10 million you stole, and I donât want to see something like this happening again. Mommy is really angry this time!â
Jack lowered his head. âMommy, we were wrong. Please donât be angry. We just wanted to make some money for you so that you wouldnât have to work so hard.â
James apologized as well, âWe wonât do it again.â
Jacob kissed her face. âMommy, donât be angry. Weâll be good.â
Vania wrapped all of them in a hug and said, âOkay, Mommy isnât angry anymore.â
â¦
Early in the next morning in Luke Corporation, the Finance Manager had a happy smile on his face as he trotted all the way to the Presidentâs office. He could barely hide his smile as he reported to Hanson, âPresident Luke, the hacker returned the 10 million and explained that theyâd gotten the wrong person. It was all a misunderstanding.â
After a moment of hesitation, Hanson said, âLetâs go and have a look.â
When he sat in front of the Finance Departmentâs computer again, he didnât try to hack them but typed out a sentence instead: âWho are you looking for? Maybe I could help you.â
James was disdainful. How could a person who couldnât even defend their companyâs firewalls offer his help? How funny. Thinking that, he proudly replied, âI donât need it.â Then, he disconnected the computer.
If it werenât for their mother, the children wouldnât have let go of this b*stard that easily.
As Hanson looked at the darkened computer screen, he realized that his excuse of helping them find someone was not quite ideal. And as for Vania, she successfully drew his attentionâ¦
