Chapter 6

The Happily Ever After [COMPLETED]803 words~5 min read

At Shetty's Villa.

Abhidnya's Pov.

I reached the Shetty Villa, it was one of the beautiful Villa I have ever seen. The watchman standing by the gate asked me my name, I told him 'Abhidnya Mehra'. As soon as he heard my name, he greeted me and let me in.

I parked my car and was standing at the entrance door. I knocked on the door but I don't think anyone heard that. Then after a few minutes, I saw Mrs. Shetty walking down the stairs spotted me.

I walked towards her and she recognized me.

"Hey! Abhidnya."

I sensed that mom must have shown her my picture.

"Hello! Aunty. How are you?"

"I'm fine, Beta. How are you?"

"I'm fine too, Aunty."

She and I walked towards the living room where I saw Mr. Shetty.

"Look Sanjay, who's here." She announced.

He stood up and we both greeted each other.

We sat on the couch as Aunty called a servant to bring refreshments.

"What will you have, Abhidnya? Tea, coffee?"

"Actually I don't drink either of that, water will be fine." And servant left to fetch me a glass of water.

I cleared my throat as I was anxious about how to talk, actually about how to start a conversation.

"Actually, I wanted to apologize to both of you. I shouldn't have left without informing Shivansh. I got an emergency call from the hospital so I had to leave and when I reached there I found out that the patient who was in the accident was none other than my best friend's mother. I was busy the whole week at the hospital taking care and I couldn't inform my parents, you and Shivansh. I'm really sorry!"

"It's okay, Abhidnya. We understand. And it's not your fault, it's the circumstances that made you do it." Aunty said.

I drank the glass of water, servant kept on the teapoy in front of me. I looked everywhere but couldn't find what I wanted.

"Are you searching Shivansh?" Aunty asked with a wide smile.

"Oh , yes! I wanted to apologize to him too, soo..." I replied politely.

I wanted to facepalm myself for looking everywhere. I could have just asked her his whereabouts but no, looking everywhere was the option I chose.

What's wrong with me?

"Shivansh isn't home yet," Uncle said.

"Oh okay, I'll apologize to him later."

I bid them goodbye, as I had to get back to the hospital. They insisted on walking me out but I politely denied and told them I'll manage. I never really liked the special treatment.

Heading towards my car, I saw an Audi R8 approaching me. I sensed it's Shivansh. I waited for him to park his car.

He stepped out of the car and we both walked towards each other. We halted and stared into each other's eyes for minutes and there was an awkward silence between us. Shivansh's phone started ringing breaking the silence. He saw the caller ID and rejected the call.

"So you're finally here to apologize for everything you did including the blind date?" He spoke up with a smirk on his face.

His words hurt me.

"I'm only sorry for not letting you know the reason behind my sudden leave on the blind date. I had to leave because of the emergency at the hospital." I said with determination and walked passed him.

I won't ever apologize for something I never did.

I ignited the engine of my car and drove off to reach the hospital.

Shivansh's Pov.

I entered my house, walking towards the living room I saw mom and dad having a conversation. I only heard Abhidnya's name and they stopped as soon as they sensed my presence.

Mom told me to sit beside her. I knew they're going to bring back the marriage topic.

As I had to call, I excused myself. After finishing the call, I heard mom say, "Sanjay I think Abhidnya is perfect for Shivansh. Even I would have left suddenly on my date if someone's life was at stake and that too my best friend's mother. And she's the best neurologist in the world, she's mature, understanding, honest and someone who's down to earth."

" Yeah, I totally agree with you," Dad replied.

"Mom, dad she's nowhere near to the word honest. She's an egoistic person who just runs rather than accepting her mistakes and apologizing." I said angrily.

I didn't have any answers to the questions they would ask me so I left the house and drove off to my apartment.
