The Happily Ever After [COMPLETED]1,010 words~6 min read

Third Person's Pov.

Sandhya after registering the words her son just said realized that Shivansh isn't going to answer any of her questions. So she didn't stop him.

She picked her phone and called Shweta.

The phone call:

Sandhya: Hey! I wanted to ask you something.

Shweta: What is it?

Sandhya: Actually, Sanjay and I think that there are things between Shivansh and Abhidnya which are left unsaid.

Shweta: I agree with what you both are saying. I was about to call you. I was going through Abhidnya's school and junior college stuff, I found a group photograph including Abhidnya and Shivansh with a couple of their friends. And I remember her telling me about she was dating Shivansh or they were best friends, something like this.

Sandhya: I don't remember but now I can say that there's definitely a misunderstanding in the past which they haven't sorted back then and now they're just avoiding it.

Shweta: Yeah, you're right. I'll try talking to Abhidnya about it. I'm sure she will tell me something about it.

Sandhya: Yes, I'll get Shivansh to talking too.

After some discussion, they hung up the call.

Shweta tried talking to Abhidnya but she always told her that it's been 10 years now.

"Why do you want to know about it, mom? Just let it be. And if you think, you getting to know about the past is going to change what Shivansh thinks about me, then you're absolutely wrong. I tried defending myself back then. But he never listened to me. And the same is going to happen even now."

Shweta told Abhidnya that people change and if you once again try to make them understand, they'll listen to you.

Even though Abhidnya wasn't sure about it, she told her mom that she will meet Shivansh.

Sandhya knew Shivansh was at fault but won't admit it. She tried asking him, why he said such harsh things about Abhidnya but he just somehow managed to change the topic or use to get himself busy so his mom won't ask him questions.

Acknowledging Shivansh's behavior, she threatened him to spill the past to her or just meet Abhidnya at the hospital and spend some quality time together.

She knew that Shivansh won't listen to her otherwise. And he was nowhere near telling her why he said such things about Abhidnya.

Now, Shivansh who was left with no other choice agreed to meet Abhidnya once again.

Shivansh's Pov.

I don't know what got into me and I agreed to this. I was surely not comfortable telling mom and dad about the past. It would only break their hearts as they already adore Abhidnya so much.

I got ready to go to her hospital. I had some unfinished business at my company so I completed that and now I'm standing outside Abhidnya's cabin.

I knocked on the door.

"Come in."

I entered the door. She was busy reading some files. As soon as she saw me, she stood up and we greeted each other.

She kept the files in the shelf and removed her coat.

"Can we have coffee which is pending since the last time we met?" She asked me.

I nodded and we left her cabin. We walked towards the canteen area in silence.

"Have a seat, I'll be right back."

I grabbed a seat and waited for her.

She came with coffee in her hand. She placed the cup of coffee in front of me.

"Won't you have coffee?" I ask her as she brought only one cup of coffee.

"No, I don't like coffee and tea." She said with a smile.

"Oh! Sorry, I forgot."

I don't remember any fucking thing ever.

"It's okay, Shivansh."

I took a sip of coffee. It was perfect, black coffee with no sugar.

Really shocked to see that she still remembers my taste.

"You still remember my taste."

"Yeah, I don't forget things easily."

I finished my coffee and asked her for a walk.

God! She has a perfect hospital with a beautiful garden. She agreed and we headed towards the garden.

"So, where have you been?"

I knew she asked about where have I been in life. She trying to start a conversation is pretty hard to believe.

"After we finished our junior college, I cracked the engineering entrance exam and got admission in one of the best colleges in Mumbai. I graduated and immediately started working in a company. But I wanted to start my own company so I resigned from my job and started my own company, 'Tech The Titan'."

"Isn't 'Tech The Titan' the company with the highest turnover in the country?"

I was shocked to see that she knew about me.

I nodded.

"Wow! Your hard work really paid off. Actually, I read this news in the newspaper, I had no idea that you're the owner of this company." She said clearing my doubts.

"What are you up to?"

"I cracked the medical entrance and completed my MBBS in Mumbai itself. And pursued my further studies in Edinburgh. And now I'm working in my hospital."

I knew everything about her. But it would've been suspicious if I didn't have asked her.

"You decided everything when we were in junior college, didn't you?"

"Yeah, I always wanted this."

I somewhere missed her a lot. We were best friends and also dated for more than a year. We use to spend time together, we actually did everything together, be it lectures, assignments, practicals, studying everything.

Those were the days we enjoyed and had fun to the fullest. If she didn't have betrayed me, we would have been great together.

As soon as the memories flash into my eyes, I get angry and still couldn't believe that she broke my heart back then.

"I need to be somewhere else," I tell her and leave.
