Shivansh's Pov.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked her, lying on my side of the bed.
When she didn't answer, I turned towards her. She was looking up at the ceiling. Even though we were so close to each other, she seemed lost.
"Is anything wrong, Abhi?"
I didn't want to force her.
"Shivansh, I was thinking about the last party we went to. I couldn't help it, all those memories just came rushing." She spoke all of a sudden.
Her eyes, now moist but still staring endlessly at the ceiling as if she was battling about how to confess.
"Abhi, look at me. Calm down! I know it is hard for you to confess and I won't force you. But just know that I'm always here." I said taking her in my arms.
"It wasn't at all like what Vishal told you eleven years back. He pretended to be some nice guy which he wasn't and I couldn't gather myself nor had any words to fight or even speak for myself."
I got up and made her sit. Her tears were now falling freely. I just wiped them and said, "Abhi, I know you have kept all this to yourself for a very long time now and please just tell me what actually happened that day. I might have been a jerk back then but now I wouldn't let that happen."
"That day, when you went outside to attend the call, I went to the restroom. But it was dark there and before I could remove my phone from purse and switch on the flashlight, someone caught my hand and dragged me in the empty corridor."
"It was Vishal." I was shocked. And now I can sense where this story might end. Shit!
"He... he pinned me to the wall and his filthy hands wandered all over my body. I tried to scream but the music was too loud for anyone to hear my muffled screams."
"I couldn't do anything instead of waiting for you to acknowledge my absence."
"Which you did, but as soon as Vishal sensed someone was coming, he made me look the bad guy and you believed him."
"You might now say that you could've just told me this that day or later but you never gave me that chance. And even if you did, I couldn't have been able to tell you because it was really hard for me."
"At that moment, I was trying my best to not think about it. I wanted to just rip that page from my memories because that just disguted me."
"Those months went in me having nightmares, panic attacks and I wished for someone to hear to what I had to say. Clearly, I would have never confessed this to my parents, it would have just killed them."
I couldn't take it anymore. I needed fresh air, this was second time I was being an asshole. How could I do this to Abhidnya?
I left the room and went in the balcony and stared the sky. I was speechless. All this while I kept blaming her for ruining my trust but I was the one at the fault. And this isn't some innocent mistake. It could have cost Abhidnya her everything.
Abhidnya's Pov.
I just sat there, wiping my tears. After some time, I went to wash my face and prepared coffee for both of us.
Taking mugs of coffee with me, I stood beside Shivansh.
"Shivansh, please sit."
Shivansh took the coffee mug and sat on the bean bag and I sat infront of him.
"Abhidnya, after all this... how and why are you with me? You deserve so much better. Now after knowing everything, I don't want to stay with myself." He said, sobbing.
"Shivansh, please calm down. I don't blame you and I actually never did. I just felt bad for you not being there when I needed you the most." I said assuring him.
"But why don't you blame me? If I were at your place I would never forgive and nor can I ever forgive myself for this." He cried."
"Shhh... Hey..." I sat on Shivansh's lap and engulfed him in my arms.
"Shivansh, you saved my life. Why would I blame you? If you wouldn't have reached there on time, worse could have happened. Just the thought of it kills me but you saved me. Be it unknowingly but I really wanted to thank you for that. And I'm not saying, you were not at fault. Of course you made a mistake trusting Vishal."
He was quite for a minute. He was obviously shocked but then he finally found his voice.
"I'm sorry, Abhi. I know no matter how many times I say it, it won't do any better but I just want you to know that I genuinely mean it."
Shivansh hugged me tighter as if his words weren't enough to describe what he wanted to say.
"And you have no idea how much I appreciate you being understanding as always and for knocking sense in me." He continued.
