Abhidnya's Pov.
As it's Sunday, it's my usual routine to get up late. So I did not set any alarm.
But still, my deep sleep was disturbed by my constantly ringing phone. Taking a glimpse at the caller ID, I saw it displaying my mom's name.
I quickly got up and picked up the call, I said, "hello mom" in my grumpy voice.
I heard her lovely, enthusiastic voice at the other end. She knew that her phone call had woken me up by the grumpiness evident in my voice.
She quickly apologized for disturbing my slumber as she knew how less I sleep or even get time for myself. And informed me that she wants to spend the day together as dad had a holiday too.
After hanging up the call, I went to complete my morning chores and changed into casual clothes, white top and black shorts.
I told Naina aunty, my housekeeper, that I'm off to my parent's house so no need to prepare breakfast or lunch.
As I went into my parking lot, I sat in my Mercedes and drove off to Mehra's Mansion, my parent's house which was just half an hour away from my penthouse.
I always wanted to be self-reliant which is why I lived at my penthouse. After moving out from my parent's house the only complaint my mom had was that since I chose medicine as my career she rarely gets to see me or even spend time with me.
And after MBBS I went to complete my Master's Degree in Edinburgh, returning back to India I bought the penthouse with my savings and began living there as it was close to my hospital.
I knew when I reach there this will be brought anyhow about how much she missed me, or how much thin I'm becoming because of not taking proper care of myself.
Matter of fact is I miss mom and dad a lot too, but I just don't want them to worry about me all the time as sometimes I reach home late or I don't go home for straight a week or so due to emergencies.
I enter the mansion and see mom and dad sitting on the couch. As soon as they spot me, they come and hug me tightly.
God, I really missed them.
Mom, as usual, started complaining about how thin I'm becoming, and along with my patients, I should take care of myself too.
Dad saved me by saying, "let's have breakfast, I'm starving". I smile at him.
We head towards the dining table and I see Aloo Parathas on the table. I quickly grab a seat and start munching on my food, as both of them just watch me with smiles on their faces.
After we finish our breakfast, we sat in the living room. I was just going through my phone when mom told me that they wanted to talk about something very important.
I kept my phone aside and was paying attention to them, that's when dad said "we think you should get married."Â And mom chirped in with "I also have a perfect guy in my mind, he's my friend's son".
I just kept looking at them awestruck. Registering what they just said, I stood up.
"Dad how can you decide everything on your own? At least tell me what you both are up to and then decide if I'm fine with it. I'm not even ready for this."
My parents were the most understanding humans I came across, I knew they would understand.
Dad told me to have a seat and he sat beside me, consoling me.
"Dear, we're not marrying you off the second you meet him, we just want you to meet him once. And if you don't like him, we won't force you. You have always listened to us and made our dreams come true. We just want you to find someone who will be perfect for you and just want you to be happy."
Mom continued, "Beta, just saying you don't want to marry is not an option, you can't stay single forever. And I'm not saying this because of society or anything. When I married your father, even I was saying the same things. But when we started living together, with growing time, our love grew, and eventually, we as a person also grew with it. The person I'm today is just because of your father. He's everything I would have ever wanted in a guy to marry him. So just give it a chance."
"Vice versa" dad added and we all chuckled.
I really admired, how they loved each other so much.
They were waiting for my answer eagerly.
"I agree with whatever you're saying and I'll meet him. Just text me his name and address, I'll be there."
That's when my mom said, "Actually , Abhi, it's, actually naa....."
I knew she was up to something.
"Come to the point mom."
"The meet is sort of like a blind date."
"What's going on, the elders are behaving like teenagers." I laughed it off.
I was walking towards my room when mom called me, "Abhi, so you will meet him na?"
"Yes mom."
