Chapter 3

The Happily Ever After [COMPLETED]695 words~4 min read

Shivansh's Pov.

I went inside the cafe and found a girl sitting in the corner. As dad didn't even tell me her name just the color of the outfit she'll be wearing, I confirmed that there's just one girl in the cafe in a maroon dress.

Pretty punctual.

I walked up to her but she was too busy removing her handkerchief which was caught in her watch to sense my presence.

I cleared my throat to get her attention, she quickly stood up greeting "Oh, hey!" with a smile.

I was about to smile back when I realized I knew her. Her face lost smile and shock was all over her face.

The only word I could come up with to break the silence was "Abhidnya"?

To which she replied, "Is this real?"

We sat across from each other, I was messaging dad to ask if the girl's name is Abhidnya just to confirm that this isn't any misunderstanding.

I was impatiently waiting for dad's reply when she got a call. As my phone's notification popped up I saw the name in the message sent to my dad.

"Abhidnya Mehra".

When I looked at her, I heard her say "I'll be there" on phone to the person who was on the other side. She kept her phone in her purse and got up.

"I have to leave."

And she left.

I don't think she even turned back to look at me one last time.

"Why do you care Mr. Shetty?" My subconscious snapped.

Yeah, I don't care, to hell with her.

I sat in my car and left for my apartment. Her words were continuously ringing in the back of my head.

She's always running away from me because of the mistake she did 10 years ago. Even then she didn't say much and now she's just running away.

What does she even think of herself?

I reached home and sat on the couch while surfing through the phone, I stood up to get a glass of water when I heard my phone ringing.

I picked up the call and was bombarded with lots of questions by both mom and dad. I let them finish with their questions and then patiently replied, "She left with 'I have to leave', so there wasn't pretty much to talk about. I left 10 minutes after I reached there.

Mom grabbed the phone and asked me, "You didn't ask her any reason?"

"No mom, she was in a hurry. I couldn't ask her anything." This time I answered annoyed because they had so many expectations from a girl who's nothing but an egoistic person who cares just about herself.

I ended the call and went into the balcony to get some fresh air.

I know mom and dad must have seen something in her but what can you even say about people? Some of them are just great at pretending.

So I called my friend, Rahul, who's a private investigator to get each and every piece of information there was about Abhidnya Mehra.

At Mehra Mansion.

The third person's pov.

Abhidnya's parents tried calling Abhidnya just to find her phone switched off. They were curious about how the date went but with the passing time as their daughter's phone wasn't reachable they were really worried.

Raj called the hospital and enquired about his daughter, but even the nurse said, that "Dr. Abhidnya is not at the hospital."

Shweta called Sandhya to ask about the whereabouts of Shivansh and Abhidnya. Sandhya told her everything that Shivansh told her.

Shweta apologized on behalf of Abhidnya to which Sandhya just said, "Shweta don't apologize, we're good of friends and surely Abhidnya must have had her reason."

Shweta and Raj got a message from Abhidnya's hospital number saying, "I'm busy, will get back to you later."

Both of them relaxed a bit knowing that their daughter was safe. But Shweta was mad at her daughter because of what she did today.
