I couldn't see; the room was pitch black. I put out my hands and felt around till I felt something wet. I pulled away as a metallic smell passed my nose- I have smelt this before. Slowly the room grew brighter. "Viv, help me." I turned around to see Jade lying on the floor with her hand on her head.
"Are you alright?" I asked, walking towards her. Suddenly, the floor between us crumbled. "Jade!" I said, reaching out my hand, and I saw it was covered in blood.
"Vivan." I turned to see E smiling with her fangs.
"E put those away. She can see."
"You won't tell, will you, sweetheart." I turned to look at Jade, and she was floating across the cracked floor. E reached out her hand, and Jade smiled, taking it.
"E... what... why-"
"She wanted to change." E smiled, grabbing Jade's wrist showing a bite mark.
"E wait," I called as they walked away. "E, come back, please."
"Miss me?" She said over her shoulder.
"Of course!" I cried.
"Sure you do." She laughed like a villain. "You have Jade. I have nothing except war."
"War?" I asked. The room was black again. I sobbed in the darkness until I felt a bang.
I woke up realizing I had rolled off the couch and onto the floor. I rubbed my eyes and realized they were wet; I got up and went to shower. I let the way to hot water run over my body. I grabbed my shampoo and quickly rubbed it in my hair. After a few seconds, I rinsed it and grabbed my conditioner. My phone started to buzz, and I leaned out of the shower glancing at the screen. 'Jade' I sighed and rubbed in the conditioner. I let it sit as I thought. Why do I keep having these weird dreams of E... well, because I miss her. But why can't I have normal dreams? Why do they have to be of someone getting hurt? I sighed and leaned my head against the wall of the shower. I fell sick. I tried to sit down on the ledge of the tub, but I slipped.
"Can you hear me?" I blinked slowly. "Hey, hey Vivian."
"Viv." I coughed.
"Viv." She said sarcastically. "Are you ok?" I nodded and grabbed my head.
"I see you haven't left my thoughts," I mumbled.
"What?" My eyes shot open to see Jade standing behind E. Oh god, no.
"I hit my head," I mumbled, reaching up.
"No, don't touch it." E took my wrist in her hand, and I sighed.
"I didn't get the conditioner out of my hair," I mumbled. "Oh my god, was I naked when you found me?"
"No, your shower curtain kept your modesty. Can you get dressed by yourself? You need to go to the hospital." E said.
"No. I'm not going to the hospital." I shook my head, ignoring the pain.
"Viv, your head is bleeding, and you could be concussed."
"You're a nurse; see if I have a concussion," I said to her.
"I'm training to be a nurse. I can't diagnose you."
"No, but you can tell if I'm going to die or not."
"Not really, here." She grabbed my robe from the back of my door, and they turned their back as I pulled it on. "Can you sit on the toilet?" She and E helped me to my feet, and I sat down, letting out a breath. I looked at her and realized she was dressed in her scrubs.
"Are you on your way to work?" I asked, and she nodded.
"I called, but there was no answer, so I wanted to stop by, the door was open, and your... friend was yelling out for you." I glanced at E. "Do you have a flashlight?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Junk drawer in the kitchen." E left the room, and I looked up at Jade.
"She's nice," Jade said.
"She's a friend."
"I was worried about you. I guess it was ok I came." E passed her the flashlight, and she checked my pupils. "They look fine, but you shouldn't sleep alone tonight." She looked towards E.
"I'm free."
"Really, I'm fine."
"Either I stay tonight, or you're going to the hospital." E said.
