Chapter 27 - Just 'Cause

Ghetto love538 words~3 min read

Trey had never been the type to ask for shit. If he wanted something, he either took it or made it happen. But with Zay? It was different. The boy stayed running his mouth, always tryna get a rise out of him, and Trey let him. But lately, he found himself moving different too.

It wasn't a conscious thing-he just started doing shit without thinking. Like now.

Zay was posted up at Trey's place, kicked back on the couch, scrolling through his phone while Trey sat next to him, watching some game that he barely had his attention on.

Zay let out a sharp laugh at something, shaking his head. "Nah, these niggas too funny-look at this."

He leaned over, holding his phone up for Trey to see, but Trey ain't even look. Instead, he tilted his head slightly, tapping Zay's chin with his finger.

Zay glanced over, brows lifting. "Huh?"

Trey ain't say nothing, just gave him a look, lips barely parted like he was waiting.

Zay blinked, then smirked. "Oh, you tryna get kissed?"

Trey still ain't say nothing, just waited, his fingers still resting under Zay's chin like he already knew the answer.

Zay sucked his teeth, shaking his head like Trey was somethin' else. "Nigga, you coulda just kissed me yourself."

Trey still ain't say shit, just stared, unbothered.

Zay exhaled, then leaned in, pressing a slow kiss to Trey's lips before pulling back slightly. "Happy now?"

Trey gave a slight nod, lips curling up just a little, before he finally glanced at the phone Zay was still holding. "Lemme see that video."

Zay looked at him like he was crazy. "Nigga, you do shit so backwards." But he still handed Trey the phone, shaking his head.

They sat like that for a while-Zay scrolling, Trey halfway watching the game. Every now and then, Trey would move like it was nothing, just pressing his lips to Zay's jaw or nudging his nose against his temple real quick before settling back.

Zay ain't say a word about it, but his smirk kept getting bigger every time.

Eventually, Zay stretched, dropping his phone onto the couch before draping himself over Trey's lap like he belonged there. "I think you like me or somethin', Trey."

Trey side-eyed him. "Shut up."

Zay chuckled, looking up at him. "Nah, for real. You been touchy as hell today. You got a confession to make?"

Trey let a hand rest on Zay's hip, thumb rubbing slow against the fabric of his hoodie. "You talk too much."

Zay grinned. "And you-"

Before he could finish, Trey leaned down, shutting him up with another kiss, this one slower, longer. Zay melted into it before he even realized, his fingers gripping the front of Trey's shirt on instinct.

Trey pulled back first, looking down at him with that same unreadable expression. "See?"

Zay licked his lips, dazed for a second before his smirk came back. "Yeah, aight. You my lil' shit now."

Trey ain't respond, just ran a hand over Zay's dreads and went back to watching the game like he ain't just kiss the nigga like that.

And Zay? He just laid there, grinning to himself, already plotting ways to get another one.
