Trey was busy. Zay knew that. Knew Trey had shit to handle, errands to run, people to check in with. He wasn't supposed to be mad about it.
But he was.
It had been hours since Trey left his bed, and all Zay had gotten was a few texts. A couple of dry-ass messages that felt like afterthoughts. He was getting restless now, scrolling through his phone, switching between apps, opening and closing messages he wasn't about to reply to. Every so often, he'd go back to his texts with Trey, like staring at them would make Trey answer faster.
Zay: What you doing?
Zay: You done handling shit?
Zay: Trey
Zay: Don't make me start acting crazy
Nothing.
Zay exhaled sharply, flopping back on his bed, his phone clutched in his hand. He wasn't about to double text again. Trey knew better than to ignore him for too long.
Right?
As if on cue, his phone finally vibrated, and Zay snatched it up instantly.
Trey: You already acting crazy. Relax, love. I'm on my way.
Zay huffed but didn't text back. Trey didn't deserve a response after making him wait like that. He'd see when he got here.
By the time Trey showed up, Zay was stretched out on the couch, arms crossed, jaw tight. Trey stepped inside like he already knew what he was walking into, kicking the door shut behind him.
"Why you lookin' like that?" Trey asked, walking over to the couch.
Zay didn't answer. Just shifted so he wasn't looking at him.
Trey sighed, dropping a bag on the coffee table before crouching next to the couch. "Oh, you mad mad."
Zay still didn't say nothing. He felt Trey's hand press against his thigh, rubbing slow like he was trying to soften him up. It almost worked.
"You gon' keep ignoring me?" Trey asked, his voice that low, smooth tone he always used when he wanted Zay to fold.
Zay clicked his tongue. "You left me on read."
Trey huffed out a laugh, shaking his head. "Here we go."
Zay turned to glare at him, but Trey was already smirking, reaching for the bag he dropped. "I brought you somethin'."
That got Zay's attention, but he wasn't about to make it easy. He stayed still, letting Trey pull out a neatly folded hoodie-black, thick, clearly expensive-before placing it in Zay's lap.
Zay side-eyed it, then side-eyed Trey. "You think this gon' make me forgive you?"
Trey leaned in, pressing a slow kiss to Zay's jaw. "I know it is."
Zay sucked his teeth but ran his fingers over the fabric anyway. It was soft as hell, and when he picked it up, he realized it smelled like Trey. Like fresh cologne and something warmer underneath.
Trey watched him, smirking like he already knew he won. Then he leaned in again, brushing his lips against Zay's neck. "You done actin' up now?"
Zay exhaled, trying to keep up the attitude, but Trey's hands were already on him, pulling him closer like he belonged there. And maybe he did.
