The Sinclair family couldnât care less about her, just like the driver said. No ordinary woman could pos sibly marry into the Sinclair family.
Even if she did manage to catch the eye of a Sinclair man, sheâd just be their plaything.
Lysander would never marry her.
She wouldnât even be allowed to set foot in the Sinclair mansion Thatâs just something thatâs better left unsaid.
It would be better not to give Evelyn and the kids false hope, only to let them down in the end.
And besides, there was another thing she had been pondering on her way home.
Lysander wasnât a fan of kids, claiming they were too noisy, but the old folks in the Sinclair family loved them, constantly pressuring Lysander to have kids.
If the Sinclair family found out she had four kids with Lysander, the old folks would definitely snatch them away and turn them into Sinclairs.
Given the two old folksâ assertiveness, theyâd take over her kids, leaving her with nothing.
At that point, sheâd lose all four of her kids.
The thought of it sent chills down her spine, and her heart pounded with pain and fear.
So, she absolutely couldnât let the Sinclair family know about her kids!
Evelyn was restless, pushing her hard. âDid you do something annoying again and scare off your boyfriend?â
Last time, Mr. Cooper didnât mind her having four kids, but she still managed to scare him off.
âMom, Iâm not that charming. I canât live up to his expectations and he looks down on me.â Thalassa sai d dejectedly, wiping her feet with a towel, expressing her inner pain and helplessness.
She avoided looking at Evelyn.
At this moment, Sophia brought over the first aid kit. Thalassa gently took it, saying. âThanks, sweethea rt, I got this. You go sit by mom and rest a bit.â
Sophia obediently climbed onto the couch and sat next to her.
Atticus, who was massaging Thalassaâs back, felt his heart sink when he heard that his mother was bei ng looked down upon. Their mother, who was so beautiful and capable, why was she being disrespected?
He decided he would find the guy and make him pay!
Evelyn sighed. âWho is he? Tell me, and Iâll go find him and ask him why he looks down on you.â
âMom, itâs in the past. Letâs not dwell on it. Weâre a family of seven, and weâre doing just fine. You look a fter the kids at home, I work, and Astrid tends to the farm. Our lives are happy, fulfilling, and good. We donât need anyone else stirring the pot.â Thalassa rea ssured Evelyn.
âYou silly girl, how would that be stirring the pot?â Evelyn wanted to continue, but Thalassa cut her off, s aying, âI need to change for work.â
âGo change. Take the day off and donât go to work. Come to the hospital with me.â Evelyn said.
âOkayâ Thalassa went to change.
Thalassa bought a bouquet of flowers and, along with her four kids and Evelyn, arrived at the hospital.
It wasnât until they reached the hospital room that Evelyn told her, âYour cousin Isabella had an acciden t and is in pretty bad shape. Sheâs hospitalized.â
Evelyn entered the room, followed by the four kids.
Thalassa was taken aback. She had assumed they were visiting some respected elder. She had no ide a Evelyn had brought her to see Isabella!
She wasnât a fan of Isabella, but since she was already here, she couldnât just leave.
The flowers Evelyn had prepared for Isabella were still in her hands.
Taking a deep breath, Thalassa walked into the room.
What she saw was a scene both tragic and bustling.
