"Princess, what are you going to do now?" Jyotimani asked while her eyes balls were moving from left to right according to the moments of Lavanya who was walking to and fro in her room. "Princess, where are you going!?" Jyotimani ran after Lavanya who always stormed off the room so that she could keep up her pace with the princess.
"I need to talk to vaidh ji as soon as possible," Lavanya replied while walking at a fast pace.
"But why?" Jyotimani asked, trying to walk as fast as possible.
"It's because- ah!" Lavanya's head suddenly collided with something, more specifically someone. A frown formed on her face as she put her hand on her head where her head got collided while she realized that she accidentally bumped into someone. "I-I am sorry. I really didn't mean to collide with you." Lavanya started bowing as she apologized, without taking a look at the person.
"Lavanya?" A deep yet gentle male voice spoke, making Lavanya immediately look at him.
"Prince Virendra?!" Lavanya's eyes widened a bit when she recognized that the person into whom she bumped was none other than her husband.
"Where are you going?" Virendra asked while composing himself.
"To meet vaidh ji," Lavanya replied in short as she looked away from him to avoid any eye contact.
"I will accompany you," Virendra uttered gently while nervousness was evident in his voice.
"Thank you, your highness. But I have Jyotimani to accompany me." Lavanya said without looking at Virendra as she had vowed that she wouldn't look at him or talk to him willingly until he would apologize to her "You don't need to waste your precious time for me."
"But the king asked us to work together," Virendra said in a polite manner while looking at her, hoping that she would go with him.
Letting out a deep sigh, Lavanya turned her head sideways. "Jyoti, you don't need to accompany me today. If I need you then I will call you." She glanced at Jyoti to confirm that the latter was listening to her.
"Sure, your highness." Jyotimani bowed to the prince and princess.
Lavanya's lips curved into a gentle smile as she nodded a bit. She averted her gaze to Virendra while her big doe eyes conveyed that she was ready to accompany him.
"Let's go," Virendra said as gently as possible as he inferred that Lavanya was ready to accompany him.
"Greetings vaidh ji." Lavanya folded her hands as she entered the chamber of the royal physician who was busy preparing some medicine.
The entire room was filled with the smell of different herbs while a type of haze was distinct there. A scholarly woman of mid-50s who was wearing a simple light-colored cotton saree with a single necklace and a few gold bangles in her hand was sitting on the floor, taking a close look at some herbs while some kind of herbal liquid was kept on the oven.
"Huh?" The royal physician at once looked at the direction of the prince and princess since she was too involved in preparing medicine that she didn't notice their arrival. "Greeting your highness." She immediately stood up and bowed to both the prince and princess. "What brings the prince and princess here to the chambers of a mere physician? You could have summoned me." She said in a gentle voice.
"Vaidh Ji, are there any herbs which when consumed show symptoms of pregnancy like tiredness, the spinning of the head, weakness, etc?" Lavanya asked while Virendra stood behind her.
"Yes, there is a rare herb which when consumed shows the symptoms of pregnancy. But it's not easy to collect since it's a very rare one. Only those people who have learned medicine have a concept about it." The physician explained. "But why do you need this herb, your highness?"
I knew it was a conspiracy! Lavanya gritted her teeth when the crying face of the woman appeared in her mind. She let out a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. "Vaidh Ji, actually today a mother-in-law accused her daughter-in-law saying that the latter was pregnant with someone else's child and their vaidh Ji confirmed that she is really pregnant. So I am asking about the herb." She looked down, feeling bad for that woman. "The woman's eyes clearly told that she wasn't pregnant but she is a victim of this case."
"Perhaps the mother of that man made that woman drink the extract of the herbs. " The royal physician said while holding the clay pot with a thick cloth before putting it down from the oven.
"It's impossible for that woman to know about the herb," Virendra said in his deep voice while his hands were balled into fists. "It only means that the vaidh is also involved in this!"
"Yes, your highness." The royal physician asserted. "Only the vaidh has to have the information about the herb."
Lavanya's brows got knitted together as they found the main culprit of the case. She glanced at Virendra whose knuckles already turned white as he clenched his fingers tightly.
"Vaidh ji, is there any antidote to it?" Lavanya asked immediately.
"I am sorry, your highness." The royal physician bowed to Lavanya. "Still there is no antidote against these herbs but there is a type of herb which can prove that she isn't pregnant."
"Which herb is it?" Lavanya asked excitedly while looking at the physician eagerly.
"I am sorry, your highness but I cannot remember about the herb." The royal physician said remorsefully. "It's a very rare herb and since I have never encountered such a situation in my life, so I couldn't remember it."
"Then how will we find the herb!?" Virendra spoke irritatedly as he was losing his patience.
"I think the name of the special herb will be mentioned in the medical books of the royal library." The physician replied.
"Thank you." Lavanya smiled. "I will surely come to you once I find the name of the special herb and its use."
"Sure, your highness." The royal physician smiled.
"Please excuse us." Lavanya bowed to the physician before walking out of the room.
Virendra too bowed to the royal physician before catching up with her.
A deadly silence prevailed as Virendra and Lavanya were walking towards the library. None of them spoke, forming an unknown tension in the air. Virendra kept stealing glances from her while Lavanya didn't bother to look at him even for once. Her eyes were focussed on the way while she was stubborn to solve the case as soon as possible. Virendra was trying to open his mouth and talk to her but he wouldn't find proper words to start the conversation.
It's all my fault that she isn't even looking at me. How to start a conversation with her!? Virendra sighed before looking at Lavanya. Even winning a war is easier than talking to her. No way! I need to talk to her first. "Lavanya?" He called her softly while walking beside her, matching with her fast pace of walking.
"Mn?" Lavanya hummed without glancing at her husband.
"How did you come to know about those herbs?" Virendra asked while glancing at Lavanya.
"I have read a lot about medicines. So I know about it." Lavanya replied while walking towards the royal library. She turned her face towards her husband. "Judging from the way you were listening to vaidh ji, it seems that you too have an idea about the herbs."
Virendra at once looked at Lavanya with wide eyes when he realized that Lavanya observed him keenly while talking with the royal physician. He immediately composed himself before speaking. "Once an incident happened when I was in Gurukul. I was practicing archery during resting hours. Then a woman came with the same problem which happened today in court. Then our guru ji (teacher) said that there is a type of herb which shows symptoms of pregnancy. Since I was practicing archery, I didn't pay attention to the name of the herbs."
Lavanya nodded as she listened carefully to his words. Soon they reached in front of a big dark-colored bronze door. A faint smile formed on Lavanya's face as they reached the royal library. Virendra stepped forward to open the door. As his hand was about to touch the handle of the metallic door, a maid suddenly called prince Virendra.
"Your Highness, Mahesh Ji wants to meet you." The maid informed with her head hung down.
Virendra never felt as annoyed as he was feeling right then. "Tell him that I am busy," Virendra said in his deep authoritative voice while it clearly showed how annoyed he was due to the interference of the maid.
"I am sorry, Your Highness, he wants to meet you now." The maid bowed to Virendra while speaking in a low apologetic voice.
Lavanya looked at the maid who was almost trembling with fear and then at Virendra who seemed to get furious at her words. She comprehended that it must be very important otherwise Mahesh would himself come to meet Virendra.
"Prince, I think you should meet Mahesh," Lavanya said politely while her eyes were glued to the ground.
"But Lavanya, how will you search the books alone?" Virendra asked worriedly.
"I will be fine, Prince." Lavanya forced a smile as her big doe eyes met with his sharp ones, trying to show him that she would be alright.
Virendra heaved a heavy sigh and turned towards the maid. "Accompany princess Lavanya until I return." He said in a commanding tone. He glanced at Lavanya one more time before walking away from there.
Lavanya stood there until the prince's figure disappeared from her sight. She let out a deep sigh and turned towards the maid who seemed to be afraid of standing close to her.
"Why are you standing far away?" Lavanya asked while pushing the metallic door to open the library.
"T-the maids aren't a-allowed to walk close to t-the royals." The maid stammered while speaking.
"Who said this to you?" Lavanya shook her head while walking inside the huge library. As she stepped inside, she didn't hear the sound of the anklets of the maid. "Why aren't you entering?" Lavanya asked when she saw the maid was standing outside the library while holding her hands together nervously.
"M-maids aren't a-allowed to walk i-inside the library." The maid said without raising her head while her gaze was darted on the floor.
"Look at me," Lavanya said in a polite tone but the maid didn't raise her head. A frown formed on Lavanya's face when she disobeyed her. "I said look at me," Lavanya growled, making the maid flinch at the intensity of her voice. She immediately raised her head and looked at Lavanya with fear in her eyes. "Come inside," Lavanya said in a commanding tone and the maid walked inside the library. "Good. Now sit on one of the seats." She said while showing the empty seats.
"No, your highness. Maids cannot si-"
"I said take a seat." Lavanya glared at her, making her stand like a frozen doll. With trembling legs, the maid walked towards a wooden seat and sat on it. Lavanya let out a deep breath and walked towards her. Taking a seat beside her, she spoke, "Now tell me why are you so afraid of entering the library? Did anything happen to you?"
"M-maids aren't a-allowed to enter here." The maid said looking down.
"Why are you trembling?" Lavanya asked when she saw how badly the maid was trembling with fear. She gently put her hand on the maid's to which the latter flinched. Suddenly Lavanya's eyes fell on a nasty bruise on the maid's hand. "What happened to your hand?" She looked at the maid when she understood that the bruise wasn't an ordinary one but caused due to heavy punishment.
"I-its nothing." The maid quickly retreated her hand and hid behind her pallu.
"Who did this to you?" Lavanya's voice turned into a grim one as her piercing gaze was darted on her. "Don't lie to me. It will just take a few minutes for me to find out the truth."
"Your highness..." The maid raised her head and looked at Lavanya with tears in her eyes. "I cannot tell you. Please spare me." She hiccupped while the tears glistened in her eyes, threatening to fall down at any moment.
"Did the Queen do this to you?" Lavanya asked in a cold voice to which the maid immediately shook her head.
"No, your highness. The Queen is like a goddess to us. She can never do this." The maid sobbed while holding the pallu of her saree.
"Then who did this, sister?" Lavanya gently cupped her face, making the latter look at her while a gentle smile was plastered to her face.
The maid's eyes widened when Lavanya addressed her as a sister. That was the first time in her life when a royal treated her like that. She couldn't control herself anymore and burst into tears.
"What happened? Why are you crying?" Lavanya asked worriedly.
"The head of the maids did this." The maid cried while wiping her tears with her pallu.
"Does she do this with everyone? Does the Queen know this?" Lavanya started to bombard her with questions as her blood boiled on learning about the truth.
"Your highness, the Queen doesn't have any idea about this. The head of the maids, Meenamma told us not to inform the Queen." The maid sobbed.
"Don't cry." Lavanya tried to console her. "Does she does this every maid?"
"Y-yes your highness." The maid nodded. "The maids who are trained under her have to obey her rules otherwise she will punish her severely. Last time I mistakenly laughed when princess Saanvi was playing with her maids. So I was punished."
"That's so cruel!" Lavanya's eyes widened while her jaws slacked as she couldn't believe her ears. "Do you know Jyotimani?"
"Yes, your highness. She is my best friend in this palace. After she became your special maid, we don't have scope meet each other." A faint smile appeared on the maid's face upon remembering her happy times. "But she wasn't trained under Meenamma, so she didn't have to experience any punishment."
I need to put an end to this. Today I cannot do anything but tomorrow no one can stop me. Lavanya shook her head and looked at the maid. "Don't worry about it. Well, then if any royal person gives you any gift then do you have to hand it to the head of the maid?"
"Yes, your highness." The maid nodded.
"Great." A smirk crept on Lavanya's face as something already brewed in her mind. "Sit here. Don't move. I have to find a few books." Lavanya smiled and walked towards the shelves.
Lavanya's face beamed with happiness when she found a number of books related to war and war strategies. She took out a book and started to flip pages carefully, trying to memorize what she was reading. Since childhood, swords were her favorite things. And when she stood in front of a number of books related to her favorite topic, she couldn't help but read those books.
What am I doing!? I am here to find the name of the herbs. She shook her head before putting the book in its place and started to search for the medical books. She grasped when she realized that the medical books were kept on the upper part of the shelf which was beyond her reach. No one reads medical books here! No wonder that the medical books are kept on such a place! Tch... Lavanya rolled her eyes and stood on her toes, trying to reach the books. She tried to stand on the tip of her toes while extending her hand as much as possible. When she was about to touch the required book, the maid's voice made her lost her balance. She immediately composed herself and stood on her feet.
"Y-your h-highness, I didn't m-mean to enter h-here." The maid started to tremble again.
Lavanya turned her head towards the direction of the maid only to find her husband standing in front of the maid with flabbergasted facial expressions. A small chuckle escaped from her lips when she saw how shocked her husband was to see the maid apologizing to him.
"Stop apologizing." Lavanya walked towards the maid and stood beside Virendra. "He is not going to scold you." She pressed her lips together, trying to control her laughing.
"Why is she apologizing to me?" Virendra asked in uttered confusion while looking at Lavanya, asking for an explaining.
"See, he won't scold you." Lavanya smiled and walked towards the maid. "He himself told you to accompany me, then why would he scold you?" Her fingers traveled to the fingers of her right hand and pulled out the most beautifully designed gold ring from her index finger. "Here, take it." She extended her hand towards the maid. "I am impressed by you. So this is a small gift from me."
"T-thank you, Y-your highness." The maid bowed as she spread her palm to receive her gift.
Lavanya smiled and put the ring on her palm. The maid bowed to her a number of times, showing her gratitude.
"You may leave now," Virendra said in his cold voice and the maid immediately bowed to the prince.
"Wait," Lavanya said and the maid looked at her. "What's your name?"
"Its Kavita, your highness." The maid said in a low voice. "You can leave now. Take care."
The maid bowed again before leaving the library room. As the maid had left the room, Virendra internally rejoiced as he could spend some time alone with his wife.
"Ahh...did you find the name of the herb?" Virendra scratched his nape nervously as he looked at Lavanya.
"N-not yet." Lavanya looked away. How will I say that I am short and I couldn't reach that height? I am sure that he will surely laugh at me. She internally cursed herself for not being tall enough to reach any height.
A frown formed on Virendra's face when he saw Lavanya was looking away nervously. Is she hiding something from me? Why is she looking away like that? She only does this when she hides something. He narrowed his eyes and looked at the books. His brows raised a bit when he realized that the medical books were placed at topmost shelves and it was too high for her to reach that height. So this is the problem. Virendra chuckled internally while he saw the sulking face of his wife.
He walked towards the shelf and took out six medical books from the topmost shelf and walked towards Lavanya. "Here your highness. Now you can read them."
"Are you making fun of me?" Lavanya looked at Virendra with a sulking face and she extended her hands to receive the books.
"Me!? No, your highness. I don't dare to make fun of princess Lavanya." Virendra shook his head while giving the books to his wife.
"Then why are you calling me princess?" Lavanya huffed as she held all the six heavy books together in her hands.
"I thought you got married to me, so you are a princess as well. Is it wrong to call you a princess?" Virendra said in an innocent voice as if he didn't know what wrong he did while he was secretly enjoying what he was doing.
Spoiled prince! It's useless to talk to him. He always teases me since childhood. Lavanya scoffed as she walked towards a couch and put the books on the table.
She is still the same and gets angry easily. Such a wild cat. Virendra pressed his lips together, trying hard not to burst into laugher. He shook his head and walked towards the shelf to have a look at the war strategy books. Suddenly his eyes caught a book which he never read before. Taking out the book, he started to flip its pages while standing there.
After a while of deadly silence, Lavanya closed the book which she was reading before switching to the other. Did he already fall asleep? Why isn't he saying anything? She thought while flipping pages of another medical book. She put her right fist on the right side of her head and tilted her head to the right side so that she could have a glance at her left side. Pressing her lips together, she moved her head a bit while her iris traveled to the leftmost corner to check what Virendra was doing.
"Stealing glances isn't a good habit, princess Lavanya," Virendra said casually while flipping a page of the book.
Damn! How did he catch me!? She immediately looked at her book, pretending to read the book attentively.
Virendra smiled as he closed the book and walked towards her. "Do you want to say something, princess?"
"No. Why would I want to say something to you?" Lavanya's brows got knitted together as she looked into the book, trying to avoid Virendra.
"Then why were you glancing at me?" Virendra sat on the seat which was located before Lavanya's.
"I wasn't looking at you," Lavanya said. "Let me read the book, prince. Otherwise, how will I find the name of the herb?"
"Oh! I am sorry to disturb you, your highness." Virendra dramatically lowered his head. "If you want to say anything to me, then please feel free."
Who is going to talk to you!? Lavanya internally huffed as she looked at the book. You should have something to tell to me. Perhaps you didn't even realize that yesterday it was me who prepared lunch. Spoiled prince! How will you even recognize the taste?
I really love to see your cute little sulking face, my wild cat. Virendra internally chuckled as he was secretly glancing at Lavanya. He again opened his book and started reading it.
Again a deadly silence prevailed in the entire library as both of them were immersed in reading their own respective books. None of them had any idea about the time. Only one thing mattered to both of them - to solve the case as soon as possible.
"Got it!" Lavanya's sharp voice echoed in the entire room as she shrieked in excitement.
"What happened?" Virendra looked at immediately only to see the beaming happiness on her face.
"I found the name of the herb, prince." She smiled brightly while holding the book in her hand. "We must go to vaidh ji first." She excitedly as she stood up.
"Mn." Virendra nodded as he too stood up.
"Vaidh ji, do you have this herb?" Lavanya asked in a gentle voice while showing the page of the book where the name of the herb was written.
"Ah! So this is the herb." The royal physician nodded in amusement. "I have this herb but I didn't know that it was the one which proves that the pregnancy is fake."
"Can you please give us the herb? We need to find a solution to this case as soon as possible." Lavanya asserted while Virendra was listening to each and every word carefully.
"Your Highness, both of you have to wait here. I will make the medicine so that you can use it." The royal physician walked towards the corner of her room which was filled with different types of potted plants. She walked to the leftmost corner and knelt down in front of a big potted plant. "Your Highness, you need to give the medicine to the woman who is accused to be pregnant. If she throws up after 30 minutes of consuming this medicine, it means that she isn't pregnant. But if she doesn't throw up, then it confirms that she is pregnant." She informed while plucking out some leaves from the plant and walked towards the oven. Putting a small pot filled with some water on the oven, she put the leaves and a few pieces of turmeric in it before covering the pot with a lid. "After a few minutes, the medicine will be ready. Please have a seat, your highness."
"Thank you for your help, vaidh ji." Lavanya smiled as she sat on a bamboo seat.
"Vaidh ji, if today we prove that the woman isn't pregnant, then tomorrow your presence will be essential in the royal court," Virendra uttered in a serious tone and the physician looked at him.
"As you wish, your highness." The physician nodded gently. "But prince, if it is proved that the woman is pregnant, then I won't be present in the court tomorrow."
"She will be proved innocent," Lavanya said with confidence as she glanced at the physician.
The royal physician smiled at Lavanya's confidence. "I am willing to help in each and every possible way, your highness."
"Thank you," Virendra nodded gently.
After a few minutes, the medicine was ready and the physician changed it to a container before handing it to Lavanya. Lavanya bowed to the physician before leaving her chambers.
"Where are you going now?" Virendra asked while walking in his usual majestic way.
"To my room," Lavanya informed. "We need to solve this case as soon as possible."
Virendra's brows got knitted together when he saw that Lavanya had no idea about time. He stood before Lavanya, blocking her way.
"Why are you blocking my way, prince?" Lavanya muttered with disbelief in her eyes.
"Do you even know what time is it? Did you have your lunch? Did you even drink water in the meantime?" Anger was evident in Virendra's voice while the frown between his brows showing that he was a bit mad at his wife.
"I haven't," Lavanya replied. "But we need to solve the case first."
"Cannot you see that the entire palace is lit with mashals( fire stick torch)?" Virendra clenched his fists tightly, trying hard not to shout at her. "It's almost late evening and you didn't even drink water the entire day. Are you planning to faint here before solving this case?"
Lavanya wanted to say something but she couldn't find proper words as she couldn't deny any of Virendra's words. It was true that she skipped her meal. She was so involved in reading the books that she didn't even take a sip of water. Listening to Virendra's words, she felt guilty as Virendra too didn't have his meal since he accompanied her. Suddenly her throat felt dry and she started to feel thirsty. She looked at the prince who already looked away from her, trying to maintain his calm.
"Prince..." Lavanya mumbled in a low voice which was hardly audible. But Virendra seemed to hear her mumbling voice.
"Mn?" He looked at her with questioning eyes.
"I-I am feeling thirsty," Lavanya uttered while looking at his husband with eyes filled with guilt.
Virendra let out a deep breath and shook his head. "Let's go to the dining room. It's already late."
"Mn." Lavanya nodded as she followed Virendra who was walking a step ahead of her.
"Why are you following me like that?" Virendra asked when he realized that Lavanya wasn't walking side by side with him but was following him like a lost child.
"Am I not supposed to walk with you?" Lavanya asked innocently while her big round eyes blinked a few times.
"Walk beside me. Why are you following me like you lost your way and I am showing you a way to get out of a dangerous place?" Virendra chuckled at Lavanya's facial expression before continuing his walk.
Lavanya took a few steps quickly so that she could walk beside him. After a few minutes, they reached the dining hall. Virendra clapped his hands twice and a few maids came with two plates of food in their hands. Virendra and Lavanya sat beside each other while the maids served them the food. After serving the food, Virendra signed the maids to leave them alone.
"Why are they leaving?" Lavanya asked when she saw all the maid left the hall.
"I asked them to so that you can without any trouble," Virendra said while pouring some curry into his plate.
"Thank you," Lavanya mumbled in a low voice as she started to have her dinner.
"Lavanya, how did you guess that the woman was speaking the truth?" Virendra asked while having his food.
"The tears and the hopelessness in her eyes show that she is a victim here," Lavanya said before taking a small bite of her food. "How did you guess that she is innocent?" She asked while looking at her husband.
"The overconfidence in the vaidh's words and that woman's hatred for her daughter-in-law raised that doubt in me," Virendra replied.
No doubt he is called God of War. I thought he used his emotions but no! He used logic. Why is he so heartless!? Lavanya pouted while putting a bit of food into her mouth.
The rest of the time they ate in silence. Lavanya enjoyed the food very much since the dinner consisted of rice, lentil curry, pulses, a mixed vegetable curry, rice pudding, pickle, and some fruit juice.
"Thank you for the food, Lavanya," Virendra said in a soft voice while washing his hands.
"Huh!?" Lavanya looked at him with bewilderment in her eyes. "Why are you thanking me?" She asked while washing her hands.
"I am thanking you for yesterday's lunch." Virendra smiled while wiping his hands dry.
"So? Why are you thanking me?" Lavanya looked away from Virendra, trying to act like she was upset with him.
"Because it's you who cooked the meal yesterday." Virendra chuckled witnessing a sulking Lavanya.
"Huh!? How did you know!? Did Mahesh already tell you?" Lavanya's eyes bulged out while her jaws slacked. But the next moment her face turned into more sulking one. "I told him a number of times not to tell you. Why doesn't he listen to me!?"
"Mahesh didn't tell me. It's your coconut chutney that clearly told me that it's you who cooked food." Virendra smiled. "It's because the coconut chutney prepared by you is always the best."
A faint smile formed on Lavanya's face as she finally heard the words which she longed to hear since the previous day. She immediately composed herself so that her husband won't see her smile. "How are you so sure that it's me who made the food? Have you ever eat the coconut chutney made by me?" Lavanya looked at Virendra while trying to act like it wasn't her who prepared the lunch.
"Are you trying to play hard to get?" Virendra arched his brow as he already noticed that faint smile on Lavanya's lips.
"W-what do you mean?!" Lavanya stuttered a bit as Virendra caught her off guard.
"When you were about 6 years old, you first learned how to prepare coconut chutney. Then you prepared it and shared it with Karthik, Saanvi, Mahesh, Akshara, Surya, and me." Virendra smiled a bit when memories of those days appeared in his mind.
"You still remember that day?" Lavanya asked while blinking innocently.
"Of course, yes," Virendra said confidently and stood up from his place. "It was the best chutney I have ever taste. So I couldn't forget it. I think we should go now."
"Sure." Lavanya's lips curved upwards into a big smile as she stood beside Virendra. "Do you have any plan?" She asked as they walked out of the dining hall.
"How about both of us go to the house of the man in the disguise of common villagers " Virendra suggested.
"How will we find the house of the man?" Lavanya looked at Virendra while walking beside him.
"You don't need to worry about that, your highness. Virendra has already found a solution for that." Virendra playfully wiggled his brows making Lavanya frown at him.
"When did you go out to find out about their whereabouts?" Lavanya inquired of while looking straight ahead.
"Do you remember when we were about to enter the library, a maid came and told me that Mahesh wanted to meet me?" Virendra asked avoiding Lavanya's question to which the latter nodded. "Mahesh wanted to meet me because by then he already found out about the whereabouts of that man. No sooner had the court was dismissed than I asked Mahesh to gather each and every information about them. And he was fast enough to collect the information within such a short time."
"Mahesh is indeed a genius." Lavanya smiled with amusement which made Virendra frown at her words. Before Virendra could say anything, Lavanya continued. "Prince, how about I disguise as an elderly vaidh and you will just wear simple clothes like an ordinary man so that no one can cause a ruckus in such an hour. When we will reach there, you will address yourself as a prince since you aren't disguising and you will tell them that you brought me to do a check-up for the woman to confirm her pregnancy. I will feed her that medicine and after then we will act as we left the place but we will silently wait there for around 30 minutes to see the results. How's it?"
"It's a brilliant idea." Virendra nodded in amusement as his fingers rested under his chin.
"That's great then. You should return to your room then. I will get ready in the meantime." Lavanya suggested.
"If I get ready first, I will come to your chamber and then we will leave together," Virendra said while walking with Lavanya towards her chambers.
"Alright. But prince, why are you coming to my room now? Won't you return to your room?" Lavanya was astonished as Virendra had no intention of walking towards his room.
"I will go to my room after you enter your room safely," Virendra said.
Finding no other option, Lavanya chose to remain silent. After walking for a few minutes, they reached Lavanya's room.
"Get ready soon. We shouldn't delay it anymore." Virendra said when Lavanya entered her room.
"Mn." Lavanya nodded as she looked at Virendra with a smile on her face.
"I am leaving then." Virendra smiled before turning away from Lavanya.
Lavanya nodded. When Virendra went out of her sight, she entered closed the door and walked inside her room.
"Your highness, did you already find a solution to the problem?" Jyotimani hurriedly walked towards Lavanya.
"Jyoti, find some clothes which elderly women wear. I need to put on a disguise as soon as possible." Lavanya almost ordered as she walked towards her table and started to take off her jewelry.
