The next update will be after 2 to 3 days.
Meanwhile, I have to update my other female protagonist book Fate Or Destiny.
For now, I am writing 4 books at the same time with 3 books updating on a regular basis and one once a week. So I may update this book with a gap of 1 day or 2. I still have to focus on my studies as well.
I hope my seniors will understand this little sisterðð
It was a full moon night. The big round moon was shining gently, spreading its calm grace all over the earth while the tiny stars twinkled, accompanying the moon in the dark night. A chilly breeze was blowing all over the area, forming weather pleasant.
Prince Virendra was sitting on a beautifully carved marble seat in the royal gardens of Avantipuram. The wind was gently caressing his face, taking away all his stress, helping him to calm his nerves. Prince Virendra's eyes remained closed, feeling the pleasant weather and the gentle moonlight.
"Prince Virendra, what are you doing here at this hour?"
A voice spoke, making Virendra open his eyes at once and look at the direction of the source of the sound. A smile appeared on his lips when his eyes fell on a tall handsome figure with oval-shaped eyes with dark brown orbs, staring at him with his thin lips curved upwards forming a smile.
"Prince Harshik." Virendra smiled as he stood up.
"Take a seat Virendra." Prince Harshik smiled as he sat beside the other prince. "How many times I told you to call me Harshik? We are going to become relatives after all." He looked at Virendra while the latter smiled and raised his head to have a glimpse of the moon. "Virendra, what are you doing here at this hour? Aren't you feeling sleepy? You came after traveling such a long distance." Prince Harshik's thick flat brows got knitted together, seeking an answer.
"I am not feeling sleepy yet, Harshik," Virendra replied with a smile while staring at the beautiful night sky. "I just came to enjoy the cool breeze. The gardens are so beautiful and the moonlight makes it look even more beautiful."
"These all are for Princess Saanvi. She loves flowers right?" Harshik looked at Virendra while the latter averted his gaze to Harshik.
"You love her so much, don't you Harshik?" Virendra chuckled, being amused at the preparation for his sister.
"She is my fiance, after all, Virendra. She is beautiful and unique. Who won't fall for her?" Harshik replied while looking away from Virendra as he could feel his ears getting hot.
"I am sure she will be happy to know that her future husband loves her so much." Virendra smiled, trying to assure the prince.
"It already has been a month since we got engaged. I wonder why there's no auspicious date within the next 3 months for our marriage." Harshik's face fell at the end of words.
"Maybe waiting for a little long will increase your love for each other." Virendra teased, making Harshik look at him.
"Virendra, does your sister like me?" Harshik's voice sounded uncertain as he knew that Princess Saanvi didn't like him romantically since their relationship was arranged by their parents.
"Harshik, don't be like that." Virendra smiled assuringly. "She still needs some time. I am sure she will fall for you."
"Thank you for your words, my friend." Harshik chuckled as he stood up. "I think you should go to sleep now. It's already late."
"Sure Prince Harshik." Virendra smiled.
The next day, everyone was present in the royal darbar(court) of Avantipuram. The king was seated in the middle of the darbar hall on a royal chair while Prince Harshik and Prince Virendra sat beside each other since Virendra was the guest of Avantipuram. All the ministers took their seats as usual.
The guards informed the king about the arrival of a guest who was well-known among different kingdoms for his parrot which can predict the future. After the king gave permission to the guest, he entered the royal darbar. He was wearing a loincloth in the form dhoti with a sleeveless cotton shirt while a white turban completed his look. He had a green parrot sitting on his shoulder, looking all around while a shabby bag on the other shoulder.
"Greetings Your Majesty." That person bowed to the king. "I am Bodhan and this is my parrot." He moved his head sideways, showing the green parrot.
"Greetings your majesty." The parrot cooed while nodding its head, leaving all the people present in the court flabbergasted.
"Great!" The King smiled, impressed at Bodhan. "I have heard a great deal about you that your parrot can predict the future."
"Yes, my King," Bodhan said with a smile and bowed gently. "If you give me permission, then I can show you."
"You have my permission." The King raised his arm, showing that he gave Bodhan his permission.
"Thank you, Your Majesty." Bodhan bowed again. "Your Majesty, please select a person whose future my parrot will predict."
The King's eyes quickly looked around his courtiers and his gaze fell on a minister. A faint smile formed on his face as he selected the person.
"Minister Vijay, why don't you give it a try to know about your future?" The King said in his authoritative voice.
A smile formed on the minister's face and he gently bowed to the king. "Sure, Your Majesty. Thank you for choosing me." The minister stepped off from his chair and walked towards Bodhan.
"Sir, please show me your palm." Bodhan gently said and the minister opened his palm. The bird on his shoulder flew to his lower arm and looked at the minister's palm as if it was reading something. After some time, Bodhan smiled.
"You have a bright future. Your pregnant wife will give birth to a boy and he will cause huge success to your family." The parrot talked, nodded its head.
"How did it know that my wife is pregnant?" The minister looked at Bodhan, flabbergasted as if he had seen a ghost.
"As I said sir, my parrot can predict the future." Bodhan smiled.
"Marvelous!" The king said as he was amused at Bodhan's performance.
"Father, should I give it a try too?" Prince Harshik looked at his father, asking for permission.
"Sure." The king smiled and the Prince walked towards Bodhan and spread his palm so that the latter could read his palm. A frown formed on Bodhan's face as he saw the Prince's palm.
"Don't marry the princess. Don't marry the princess of Maheswari." The parrot talked nonchalantly. "She is not good. She already has an affair with a man." The parrot flew back to its owner's shoulders after finished talking.
"What nonsense?!" The King thundered while Virendra's blood boiled on listening to such accusations against his sister.
"Pardon me, Your Majesty." Bodhan bowed to the king. "But my parrot never tells wrong."
"This cannot happen." Harshik shook his head violently. "She is not that type of woman." He returned to his seat and looked at Virendra. "Why didn't you tell about this before?" His voice trembled.
"Prince Harshik, believe me. My sister is innocent. She doesn't have an affair. She is being falsely accused." Virendra spoke, trying to defend his sister.
"Prince I am sorry, but my parrot never predicts wrong," Bodhan said in a polite tone. "Perhaps she has an affair and you don't know."
"Mind your words!" Virendra growled, sending shivers down Bodhan's spine. He stood up and turned towards the king. "Your Majesty, please give me some time to prove that this man's prediction is wrong."
"But Prince, my parrot never predicts wrong," Bodhan said in a confident tone.
"Okay." The King let out a deep breath. "I will give goo a time of one day Prince Virendra. If you fail to prove this man wrong, then our relationship with Maheswari will come to an end." He said in a firm voice as if he was giving a warning to Virendra.
"Thank you, Your Majesty." Virendra bowed to the king. "I will try my best to prove this man's prediction wrong." He glared at Bodhan before taking his seat while the latter looked at him with confident eyes.
"Till tomorrow Bodhan will stay as our guest." The King ordered. "For now, assembly is dismissed." The King said as he walked out of the darbar hall.
