Play tenu sang rakha
Abhijeet pov
I woke up, feeling a dull ache in my back. Sleeping on the couch in such an uncomfortable position was a mistake. Just as I shifted to get up, I realized somethingâor rather, someoneâwas resting on me. Aarya lay curled up against my chest, sleeping peacefully.
A genuine smile spread across my face as I watched her. Her small frame, the soft rise and fall of her breathsâit was an oddly comforting sight. Gently, I brushed a few stray strands of hair from her face. She stirred slightly, mumbling something incoherent.
"Mumma..." she whispered, her voice soft and childlike.
Before I could process her words, she jolted awake and began crying. Alarmed, I sat up straight and held her closer.
"Hey, hey... what happened, baby? Why are you crying? Shh, donât cry, please," I said, my voice as soothing as I could make it.
Her cries only grew louder as she sobbed into my chest.
"Baby, please calm down," I whispered, rubbing her back gently and ruffling her hair with affection.
Between her hiccupping sobs, she managed to say, "M...mu...mumma."
Her broken words struck a chord deep within me. I held her tighter, waiting patiently for her tears to subside. After a few minutes, her cries turned into soft sniffles. I cupped her tear-streaked face, my thumb wiping away the remnants of her sadness.
"Did you have a bad dream, baby?" I asked, concern lacing my voice.
She nodded slowly, her eyes red and puffy. Without a word, she wrapped her small arms around me in a tight hug.
"My mumma will be fine, right?" she asked, her voice trembling.
I smiled reassuringly and said, "Absolutely fine, princess. But if you keep crying like this, what will your mumma think? She might think her brave girl isnât strong anymore. Hmm, that would make her sad, wouldnât it?"
Her wide eyes blinked up at me, and she shook her head frantically. "No! No, I will not cly... cry," she said, quickly wiping her own tears with her tiny fists.
I chuckled at her determination. "Thatâs my brave princess. Now, go freshen up," I said, tapping her nose playfully.
She scrunched her nose at me, her expression skeptical.
"What is it?" I asked, amused.
"Mumma used to bath me. Now... how will I?" she asked, her face falling.
I paused for a moment, imagining a different lifeâone where Siya and I were together, raising a daughter just like Aarya. The thought made my heart ache, yet it filled me with warmth.
"Donât worry, principessa. Iâll give you a bath," I said, scooping her up in my arms.
Her lips quirked into a small smile. Somehow, being with her felt... natural, as though she truly was Siyaâs and my daughter.
I called out to the staff, "Get the bathtub ready for Aarya and bring some comfortable clothes for her." They nodded and left to prepare.
A few minutes later, one of the workers returned. "Hukum, everything is ready," he said and excused himself.
"Letâs go," I told Aarya, lifting her effortlessly.
"Chaloooo!" she exclaimed in her playful voice, making me chuckle.
I bathed her with care, ensuring she felt safe and comfortable. After drying her off, I dressed her in a cute yet comfy outfit and carried her back to the room.
As I sat on the bed beside her, scrolling through my phone, her curious voice interrupted me.
"Is this whole big house yours?" she asked, her wide eyes filled with wonder.
"Yes," I replied simply.
Her gaze swept across the room. "Ohh, itâs so huge!"
I laughed softly and pulled her onto my lap. "How was your house, Aarya?"
Her face lit up as she began to speak. "We used to live in a very small house, just me and Mumma. But it was nice. We didnât have workers like here. Mumma did all the chores herself, and we had a wrestling ground! Mumma used to teach girls there," she explained, her voice filled with pride.
"Iâd love to see that," I said sincerely.
"Really?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Really," I assured her with a nod.

Naina's POV
I canât just sit here and wait for someone to help me. Aarya is out there, and I have to find her myself. Determined, I freshened up quickly and stepped out onto the narrow streets of our village.
"Kaki, aapne Aarya ko dekha tha?" I asked every person I came across, but all of them shook their heads with the same denial.
Disheartened, I was about to turn back when I noticed Aarya's friend, Sidhi, playing nearby.
"Sidhi," I called out, my voice urgent. "Did you see Aarya?"
She shook her head, and my hope began to fade. But just as I was about to leave, her next words made me freeze in place.
"Kaki... Aarya ko toh koi ajeeb kapdon wale log le gaye," she said hesitantly.
I turned to her sharply, my heart pounding in fear.
"Huh? Kya? Kaise log, Sidhi? Kaun log?" I asked, dread gripping me. The thought of something happening to Aarya made my knees feel weak.
"Kaki... pata nahi," she stammered, pausing for a moment before continuing. "Par haan, unke kapdon par yeh nishan tha." She crouched down and began drawing a symbol in the dirt.
(The symbol)
My breath hitched as I saw it. This symbol... I knew it. A shiver ran down my spine. Why? Why does destiny want me to return there?
Swallowing my fear, I nodded and walked back home.
Once inside, I sat on the edge of my bed, staring at the walls for a moment. My mind raced with thoughts of Aaryaâher small, innocent face, her soft voice calling me âMumma.â She needed me. I couldnât leave her there, not even for a second longer.
Steeling myself, I began packing. I took only the essentialsâsome clothes and a few important items that could fit in a small bag. Once ready, I locked up the house and walked to Kanhaiya's home.
I knocked softly, and he opened the door almost immediately. His face was etched with concern.
"Naina, tumâ" he started, but I cut him off, handing him the house keys.
"Dada, I have to go. I have to save Aarya," I said firmly.
"Kahaan ja rahi ho?" he asked, his voice laced with worry.
"Rajasthan," I replied.
His eyes widened at the mention of that place.
"Main bhi chalunga tere saath," he said without hesitation, already stepping inside to get ready.
"No, Dada," I stopped him, my voice cracking. "Aap yahi rahiye. Bhabhi aur Ahilya ka dhyan rakhiye."
Tears welled up in my eyes, but I blinked them away before he could notice.
"Nainaâ" he started, but I interrupted again.
"Please, Dada. Mujhe mat rokiye. Pata nahi main waapis aaungi bhi ya nahi. Lekin ek baat ka waada kijiye... kabhi dukhi mat hona. Chahe kuch bhi ho jaye, hamesha khush rehna." My voice broke, and the tears I had been holding back started to fall. "Aur... khana time pe kha lena," I added with a weak smile.
Kanhaiyaâs face hardened. His voice rose slightly as he scolded me,
"Esa kese keh sakti hai tu nain tera bhai hu mei maanta hu khoon ka rishta nahi humara pr tu jaan se jyaada badhkar hai mere liye , tere bina kese khush reh sakta hai tera bhai ha ? Esa tune socha bhi kese Matti bhrasht ho gayi hai kya teri han"
His words broke the last shred of my composure. I started crying openly, and he pulled me into a tight hug.
Kanhaiya wasnât just a brother to meâhe was my protector, my family, my anchor. When the entire village turned its back on me, he stood by me. He gave me a home when I had none, loved me as his own sister, and became the elder brother I had always longed for. How could I leave him now? Kanhaiya always loved me as his own sister he did so many things for me even when the whole village was against him when he bought me here he took stand for me
But I had toâfor Aarya.
He gently rubbed my back, whispering, "Bas, bas, itna mat ro. Gala kharab ho jayega tera. Tu achhi bachi hai na apne bhai ki? Toh bhai ki baat maan le ek baar."
"Ji, Bhaiya," I whispered through my sobs.
He pulled back slightly and cupped my face. "He bagh jevha jashil na swatah ch dhyan thev , Ani aarya la sang mama Ativan kadhta tichi Ani kadhi garaj padli tar tuza bhau aahe bss ek phone kar Ani me hazir and please be safe ,love you alot my princess " he said And finally his control on emotions gave up he started crying too
(See when you will go na take care of yourself and when you reach tell aarya that her uncle miss her alot , and whenever you needed me remember your brother is always there for you just one call and I am there for you and be safe love you princess)
His voice cracked, and I saw the tears fall freely from his eyes.
I nodded, unable to speak, and hugged him one last time. After a few moments, he gently pulled me away.
"Ja, tu ja. Aur haan, waapis zarur aana. Tera bhai tere intezaar karega," he said firmly. Then, before I could say another word, he shut the door in front of me. Cause he knew if he stood more for even one second he won't let me go
I fell to my knees, sobbing at the closed door.
Inside, I knew bhaiya was breaking too. He must have fallen to his knees just as I did.
After a few minutes, I wiped my tears, stood up, and touched the door lightly. "Thank you, Bhaiya," I whispered. Then, with a heavy heart, I turned and left from there
