Chapter 10

The sky was already dark when they arrived at the hotel where they're going to stay. As what Mina predicted, Chaeyoung is fast asleep by her side. She stared at the sleeping girl after parking the car. What a defenseless woman. She sighs seeing that the girl won't wake up any moment. Taking her seat belt off, she reached for the girl's shoulder and softly shake her.

"Wake up we're here" She announced. Chaeyoung just stirred on her sleep.

"Five minutes" She grunted. Mina's brows creased. She hates waiting.

"Wake up or you want me to eat all your strawberries?" Chaeyoung immediately wake up and take off her seat belt. Chaeyoung gave her a playful glare.

"Not my strawberries" she stuck out her tongue like a kid. Mina smiled seeing the childish side of the woman.

"Hai hai" She sigh.

They proceed to the lobby with their luggage. Jihyo booked a room for them but it seems like she forgot that it's for two.

"Can we take one more room then?" Chaeng hoped that she can have her own room. Not that she don't like to be with Mina but it's just she's not used to have someone to sleep with on a same room.

"I'm sorry ma'am but we are fully booked today" That made her heave a big sigh.

"But I can't sleep with someone" she reasoned.

"It's okay boss. I can stay at the couch" Mina chirped in. Chaeyoung eyed the girl weirdly.

"Yah I'm not that heartless. "

"But you are not comfortable sleeping with someone" Mina showed her cute pitiful face. Chaeyoung has bite her lower face to hold her smile.

"We can share the bed" she finally said.

"Okay" Mina smiled and made her way at the elevator.

"Wait did she just trick me?" Chaeng asked herself, tilting her head in confusion. Not sure what to answer she just followed the girl. She might be tired from the long drive. Well maybe a week will be fine. Their room is at the fifth floor and the view is priceless. Jihyo did great in booking their room. Chaeng smiled widely seeing the scenery outside the glass window.

"I'll go wash up first." Mina announced and proceed to enter the bathroom with her clothes. Chaeyoung's attention is still fixed on the view. She likes seeing the night scape. It somehow gives comfort to her.

Talking about night, I remember the time when an assassin tried to kill me. I wonder how is she. I wanted to ask her questions. How she have my necklace that I gave to my first love is still a mystery to me. I hope to meet her again.

"How are you now unnie?" she asked on the empty space. She promised the girl that she will marry her. Does she still remember me?

Sighing to herself. She chuckled realizing that she's talking to herself again. Stretching her arms, she took out her phone. She smiled seeing her very serious looking bodyguard driving. It's a picture she stole hours ago. Mina's presence is something she's now used to. It wasn't bad that she has someone to talk to every morning, before she sleeps, and even to exchange jokes too. Only one thing is bothering her. It's those cold eyes of the girl. She knows Mina has her secrets, she herself too but it's her guts that seems to tell her something she can't understand.

"You should smile genuinely" She talked to the picture of the person on her phone.

"I mean you look beautiful. Ani- It's really unfair how you can flirt with me with those piercing stares" She continued as if expecting the girl on the screen to talk back.

"If only I'm not committed already, I would probably say you're really attractive." She sighs. Not that the teases is getting into her, it's just sometimes it's hard to deny the attraction.

"Who are you talking to?" Mina came out of the bathroom already on her pajamas. She is drying her hair with the towel. Chaeyoung got surprised by the sudden entrance of the woman and she accidentally let go of her phone. Luck might really left her as the phone faced up revealing the face of the woman who was already staring at her fallen phone. A smirk emerge from those beautiful lips.

"So I am attractive huh?" Mina teased. Chaeyoung's face glows like a potato possessed it.

"A-ani- It's not like that" She immediately pick up her phone and lowered her head. She looked like a kid caught red handed. Mina keep staring at her. Fascinating.

"You know you can tell me if you like me. I don't mind" She slowly approached the girl and Chaeyoung instinctively made a step back. Her head still lowered she move back until she's pasted on the wall. Mina is already in front of her. Her hair still wet and face sporting a smirk. Mina lifted her chin a little rough. Their eyes met. The embarrassed and cold one.

"Only look at me boss not the floor" She smiled. Chaeyoung gulped. Mina's face is inching closer... and closer until it was only a centimeter away. Chaeyoung's heart is beating rapidly. Her eyes that's staring at the cold eyes of Mina travels down to her nose. She noticed her cute mile on the bridge of it. Traveling more down, she was met with those plump lips. Mina saw it and she intendedly lick her lips. Something flicker on those eyes. She saw it. It looks like I know the way how to get through her.

She tilted her head as if to really kiss Chae. The action made Chaeyoung voluntarily close her eyes tight. Waiting for the lips she thought that would come.

"Cute" She heard a whisper in her ears. That's when Chaeyoung realized the woman is just messing with. With her regained strength she pushed her forcefully.

"I- I'll go wash up" She rushed to get away from the girl without glancing at her. Mina was smiling like she just saw a very funny scene. Chaeyoung entered the bathroom. What about her clothes? Just after she entered the bathroom it opened again. She rushed to get her clothes that's on the bed. Mina noticed the redness of the girl. She goes back to the bathroom again.

"What a weird girl" She shake her head with a tug on her lips.

But I felt like I'm getting weirder too.

Nayeon opened her eyes only to see a different ceiling. She wanted to move but then she realized her body was tied on the bed.

"What the hell is this?" she tried to get herself free but it's useless.

"You can't take that off unless you use your ability" A woman entered the room wearing a white coat.

"Who are you?" Nayeon tried to activate her ability but it won't work.

"What did you do to me?" She asked starting to feel anger.

"I injected something that will temporarily block your mutated cells." She smiled. Nayeon creased her brows. This people knows her but then she remembered before she lost consciousness.

"Where is Tzuyu?"

"ahh she stayed with your lover to cover you up" She smiled. Her answer just made Nayeon confused. One thing for sure this people is not with the organization. Once the organization founds a rebel they will annihilate anyone close to you.

"Don't worry we're the same like you. A refugee on the run." The woman untied her free. Another woman in a mask entered the room.

"Leave us alone for now Momo" The familiar voice ordered.

"Okay captain" the woman named Momo left the room.

"Jihyo why are you doing this?" She asked. There many questions she wanted to ask. Why Tzuyu and her knows things about the organization. The masked woman remove her mask.

"I have my reason and you are here to listen."

Chaeyoung is careful to open the door. She peeked at the bedroom to see if the girl is already sleeping. Mina was there lying on her bed side with close eyes. The shorter girl sigh in relief. She made herself embarrassing and she can't show a face to the woman without being red again. She even stayed longer at the bathroom to pass the time. She slowly creep out and tiptoe to her side. Slowly slipping under the sheets afraid to wake the girl. Finally, I can sleep.

"What took you so long?" The woman suddenly speak up with her hoarse voice. Chaeyoung gulped. Such bad luck ugh.

"Uhm nothing. Why are you still awake?" She asked. Trying not to look at the girl whom she can feel staring at her intently.

"I waited." Mina answered.

"Why?" she asked.

"Because I don't want to sleep without you here." She nonchalantly said. Jesus, her honesty will kill me someday.

"Why?" she asked again.

"I'm your protector how can I protect you if you're not here?" Mina reasoned.

"It's not like the bed will kill me." Chaeyoung laughed at her childish reason.

"Ani we don't know when will you be attacked. It might be by assassination or someone close to you." Mina's eyes flickers killing intent but Chaeyoung is oblivious to the stare.

"Come on I have you I don't have to worry." Chaeyoung smiled while closing her eyes. The embarrassing event that happened hour ago are long forgotten. She's back to herself.

"Yeah you have me" Mina smiled. That will kill you.

Silence.. Mina thought that the girl was already asleep when she heard her talk again.

"I love someone" Chaeyoung started. That took her interest. She just lay there staring at her prey confessing her love story.

"She's beautiful and very kind. We used to live on the same neighborhood. I made a promise to her before she had gone back to her country" Chaeyoung continued.

"What promise?" Mina asked.

"That one day we will meet again and that I will marry her" She smiled still closing her eyes. In her thoughts was the girl she fall in love.

"What happened?"

"That was during my grade school days. I waited for her. I know it's funny how a kid could be so dedicated to a promise but I wanted to fulfill that. I never find someone. I rejected everyone who tried to pursue me. Up until this day, I still hold on to that promise. That one day I will meet her again. So I can't fall for anyone even you Mina." Mina observed the girl in front of her. She looks so happy while telling a story where there's no certain happy ending. What a weird woman.

"Goodnight Mina" Chaeyoung said before turning her back.

"Goodnight Chaeyoung" She faced the ceiling, no longer looking at the back of the girl. Thoughts flooded her mind. Something she wonder how would it feel. Those affections for someone. I wonder how it is to have someone to treasure.
