Chapter 13

The day continues with a calm atmosphere around them. Chaeyoung buys a Baskin Robbins mint chocochip ice cream and snacks for Mina. They're now on their way to the beach. Mina parked the car and they got out. The smooth breeze of the sea welcomes them. Chaeyoung smiles. It's already relaxing. She grab the blanket on her car. They found a perfect place to watch the waves.

"It's been a long time since I saw the sea this close." She mutters. Mina smiled looking at the sea. She didn't say a word but she can understand what her companion means. She close her eyes to further feel the breeze and hear the sound of the waves is so calming.

"I want to feel the water in my feet" Chaeyoung took out her shoes and fold up her sleeves and pants.

"Hey it's freezing." Mina wanted to stop her but Chaeyoung spoke something she can't argue.

"You promise not to stop me. This won't kill Minari" The smaller one chuckled. Mina sigh in defeat. She watched as the girl ran closer to the calm sea. It's already four in the afternoon and the sun don't hurt as much. She decided to take her headphones and listen to some music. (Play the audio)

She observes the woman who has her smiles shining like the bright sun. She looks so happy while stepping on the wet sand and little waves at the edge of the shore. Mina wondered how would it feel. To have those emotions where you can smile as much as your heart content. To cry from the pain of losing someone. Mina had seen different side of a person. Be it jealousy, regret, hate, obsession, despise that disgust her to her stomach. Somehow makes her feel thankful for not feeling such humanly emotions that would lead to stupid decision. but..

When  was the last time I felt like this. The foreign feeling where you want to take everything from that person. Wishing it was you. Mina smiled bitterly. She thought she made it gone but the buzzing heart is still there. How it comes and goes makes her confused. Oblivious by the little tug of her stolen emotions.

Freedom, when will she ever free herself from the chains of her past. Tangled between her present and past or does she have a present at all? Because her past seems more realer than the former. She sigh in thinking too much. The sea gives her solace amidst of the ringing waves to silence her darkness. The dullness of her empty space of heart. She wonders if she can still fill it. Hoping the vacancy won't forever remain.

After killing the organization, she don't know what to do next to that. Will she live? Or will she wander on the land she can't even feel. Continue living on the dullness of her world. Her train of thoughts is interrupted by the waving hands in front of her.

"You're thinking so deep you didn't even notice me" Chaeyoung pouts.

One more confusion for her, this woman triggers those weird foreign tugs in her.

"Sorry what do you want?" she shook the thoughts away and continued her job. To pretend.

"Tsk come on you said you love the sea let's enjoy it." Chaeyoung grins while tugging her wrist to stand up.

"But it's cold yah" Mina tried to let her hand free but again the woman used her words against her.

"You promised." She smirks. "Now come on it's not that cold" She laughed and Mina has to let herself be drag on.

"Why did i promise that again?" She deadpan.

"Because you love me." Chaeyoung playfully said. That made Mina stop thinking.

"Now let's take this off." Chaeng helped her to take off her shoes because Mina seems to cement herself. She just watch the girl do her thing. Here it is again this weird worms in my stomach. I did not eat anything though. After throwing her shoe, Chae lifted her pants up to her lower knee and continued dragging her on the edge of the shore where the small waves kisses the sand. She felt the cold water drenching her feet. but It wasn't that bad.

"See it's not bad." Chaeyoung giggled. Mina smiled in return. She had an idea.

"Yeah how about this." She came closer to the coming small waves and kicked it on Chaeyoung's direction causing for the girl to get drench. The cold water hits her face and Mina has to ran seeing the surprised face of the woman.

"Yah! it's cold!" Chaeyoung ran after her but not without scooping some sea water on her two palms and throwing it into the bodyguard. In the end, Mina avoided it. Mina just laughed seeing the disappointed look on her boss.

"You're slow boss" She stuck out her tongue causing for Chaeyoung to chase after her again. They just ran around while Chaeyoung is getting drenched because the girl can't take her revenge to the penguin.

"Just let me hit you once please" She pleaded in frustration. Mina laughed seeing her so desperate.

"Why would I?"

"Aish" She ran after her again but it's hopeless the girl can avoid her effortlessly.

"Ughh I gave up." Chaeyoung drop herself on their laid blanket. Mina is still laughing when she came by her side and laid her back too. They watched the sky who's now turning orange. Chaeyoung faced her, staring on her side profile.

"You laughed." Chaeyoung commented while still smiling.

"Of course I alway-"

"No you don't. This is the first time I saw you laughed genuinely."

Mina paused. Her smile slowly fading in realization. She didn't pushed it this time. It naturally came out.

"Did I?" She asked with her serious tone. Chaeyoung noticed the change and decided not to push the woman. Slightly, regretting for telling the girl.

"Yeah." They are now both staring at the dimming sky.

"Maybe I did."

Silence...

"Hey Minari" Chaeng called. Mina hums in reply and she closed her eyes.

"As I told you before you can be yourself when you're with me." She said but Mina didn't answer the question. Instead she said something that made Chaeyoung puzzled.

"The ocean holds a large percentage on the earth's crust but we explored only five percent" She mutters.

"Are you saying?" She asked, confused.

"That it's hard." She smiled while still have her eyes closed.

"To completely know someone it's hard" she mumbles. Especially if it's empty.

Chaeyoung is slowly understanding what she means. Is she saying she's hard to understand?

"It is but we have the time" She positively replied.

"A time that's limited."

"But precious." She retorts. Mina chuckled to the girl beside her. She really knows what to say huh. Mina just hums in reply.

"I remember that quote." Chaeyoung sat up. Mina opened her eyes when she felt her move.

"That we don't remember days, we remember moments." She smiled widely on the sun setting on the far horizon. Mina sat up and followed where the girl is looking. It was a beautiful moment. Maybe I could understand that quote somehow.

"Okay I will remember" Mina smiled, looking at the sunset.

"What?" Chaeyoung faced her curiously.

"I will remember this." She smiled, genuinely. Chaeyoung is confused. Why does the girl looks more beautiful than the sunset in front of them. She doesn't know. All she can see is the smiling woman now. Forgive me my love. She thought towards the woman she promised to marry.

The beautiful moment is disrupted by a sudden sneeze from the shorter woman.

"Looks like someone caught a cold." Mina smirked. Chaeyoung sniffs.

"Who's fault is it?" She glared.

"of course it's yours-"

"No you insisted that I should enjoy the sea." Mina chuckled.

"Aish.. sti- *achoo*"

"Let's go before you really get sick." Mina helped the girl to the car. Before finally entering the car, Mina looked at the sinking sun then smiled.

We will meet again.

Jeongyeon and Tzuyu is now at the former's house. Tzuyu has to lie that Jihyo needed Nayeon's help in the company which explains for her disappearance. Jeong was skeptical at first but she believed it in the end.

"I'm home" Nayeon entered the house with a much relaxed expression now. Tzuyu wondered what her Jihyo unnie did to her. That manipulative unnie.

"Welcome back. Jeong unnie is on your shared room." She replied.

"Oh really? Thank you yoda." She cheerfully said but before leaving "and sorry for you know"

"It's fine" Tzuyu sigh. Nayeon smiled and send her a flying kiss.

"Okay" she said before entering their room that Tzuyu never wanted too know what they will do inside.

"Guess I can go back now." She stood up and get her stuff. Her phone vibrates as she's on her way to the elevator.

"What?"

"ouch aren't you happy that I called?" Jihyo acted like she's hurt.

"Ani. So how does it goes?" She asked as she entered the elevator.

"She agreed after punching Sana so hard" Jihyo nonchalantly said.

"So that explains he good mood" Tzuyu sigh. No wonder.

"Yeah so  how's a dinner? my treat for your hard work."

"Now you're bribing me"

"It's not bribing it's called reward Chewie" she chuckled. Tzuyu rolled her eyes on that.

"Whatever you say unnie. Okay I'll be there"

"Yes! So what do you want me to cook?" She enthusiastically asked.

"Let's have meat today. I think I deserve it for breaking my ribs earlier."

"Okay let's meet on the grocery that's close to my condo. See you! Bye bye" She ended the call. Tzuyu chuckled on how excited the woman just now.

Seems like I'm going to eat so much today.

Nayeon entered their room and she saw her lover unpacking her stuff. She smiled and sneakily wrap her hands from behind.

"I'm back" She sweetly hugs her behind but Jeongyeon seems not to care.

"Oh hi" She said without even a tint of care in her voice. Nayeon noticed it and unwrap her hands from the taller girl.

"Hey love are you angry?" She peeked and sat on the edge of the bed.

"No" She shortly replied.

"Psh then where is my kiss?" Nayeon pouted her lips as if saying she needs her kiss. Jeong just gave her a dead stare and then ignore her.

"See you are angry. I'm sorry I left without telling you" She said in her aegyo. Jeong continues to ignore her.

"Hey I met Jihyo it's really an urgent matter." Still no response.

"I'm sorry okay she really need some assistance." Still silence.

"Ugh are you really going to ignore me?" Still nothing. Nayeon rolled her eyes and stood up, ready to leave the room only to be stopped by a hug behind.

"I'm not mad. I'm just sulking. Don't leave." She cutely said and buried her face on Nayeon's neck. The older woman can't help but smile to the cuteness of her lover.

"Jesus why are you so cute?" She cooed and turned around to grant the woman her reward.

"Of course I won't leave." She kissed again. Jeongyeon has that wide smile where she won something big. She lean down to claim her girlfriend's plump lips. Slowly and passionately sucking it. The kiss turns into a heated one. Jeong's kiss travels into her ears. Nayeon involuntarily release a moan causing for the younger one to need more.

*Ring*

"Wait- the phone Jeong" Nayeon tried to stop the girl from doing more but she seems not to hear anything.

"Ignore it." Jeong breathes on her ear. Fuck.

"No that's Jihyo she needs-"

"Aish" Jeongyeon released herself from her woman and reached for the phone. Nayeon drops on the bed. Face flushed from the sensation earlier. Jeong answered the call. It seems so serious. Nayeon waited for them to finish talking and when they did..

"who is it?"

"It wasn't Jihyo. It's Mina." The name makes Nayeon's ear ring

"What did she say?" she asked with all seriousness.

"Something happened to Chaeyoung." Nayeon immediately stood up. Her complexion is starting to change but she tried to calm herself. Not in front of Jeong.

"We need to go"

"Where?"

"Go get Chaeng."

"It's just a fever love" Jeongyeon chuckled.

"A what?"

"A fever stop over reacting." a relief sigh escaped from the older.

I swear to God Jihyo if something bad happens to our baby cub I'll really hunt you.
