Chapter 15

Under the midnight moon are the eyes of malicious unknown. Mina woke up from the chills. She felt it, the killing intent. She glanced at the peaceful sleeping woman beside her and sigh in relief that she's fine. Maybe she won't notice if I'll go out now. I need to see who trespass my territory.

Closing her eyes, she tried to see where is it coming from using her ability. It's waiting for her outside, but she's alone. Somehow, the woman just want her to notice her presence to meet her. This might be a trap.

She slips out from the covers and wears her jacket. She glanced at the sleeping woman and decided to check if she still have a fever. She's already fine. she smiled. Hours ago, on her way on buying a medicine she called the younger woman's unnies to inform them about what happened and that she can't go work for the Baes too. Jeong said that she'll tell Jihyo about it and Chaeyoung can take a day rest. She sigh.

Taking the room key she made her to the woman. She can feel it, they are the same. It could be the organization but that would be foolish for them to send one person only. Are they underestimating me?

She walked out from the hotel and to the alley besides it. There a woman sporting bright red leather jacket with braided hair waits for her.

"You came!" She cheered seeing Mina in front of her. Mina just coldly look at her without even giving a slight hint of reaction.

"Tsk you're still the same huh" The woman smirked.

"What do you want?" Mina coldly asked. The red woman tilted her head and shrug.

"Just visiting a playmate. What's so wrong with that?" she nonchalantly replied. Seeing that Mina wasn't satisfied with her answer the girl sigh.

"I'm checking on you. I didn't know you have someone to protect now." She chuckled, meaning to say Chaeyoung.

"She's my prey" Mina let go some of her killing intent. Those some is already scary enough for a normal person but this lady in front wasn't normal at all.

"Chillax I'm not taking your prey away but..." Her complexion starts to pale. The brown orbs turns into an intense red. "to warn you." The girl disappeared in front of her using her ability with fast speed and tried to launch an attack behind. Mina saw it, everything. Before the kick hits her head, Mina drops down and distance herself with an insane pace.

The woman looks like she saw an amazing trick and clapped.

"Witch it's really you" She beamed. Mina's intense blue orbs stared back as if telling her to bow down. Those supreme looks of a perfection, as what the organization likes to call.

"Still a parasite" Mina spat. Short but it made the woman remember everything ten years ago. The chills of seeing the witch is not a memory to forget. She laughed. A maddening laugh.

"The organization is here. They're desperate to have their almost perfect creation back. We will come at once to hunt everyone who escaped. You are no exception." She smiled before slowly backing away. Letting the darkness take her whole frame.

"We will meet again soon... Witch-chan"

I will kill you by that time.. Akira.

...

Jihyo is silently staring at the screen where a certain location points out. She sigh for the nth time already. This is it. The time has come for the organization to find them. I should have expected that they will come a month early.

"Captain what should we do?" Dahyun asked who's sitting on her right. They're now at their own meeting room.

"How many of them have you traced?" Jihyo turns to face the younger girl.

"I'm still doing it unnie. Tofu is searching every corners of the city for any possible threat." Dahyun answered.

"Nayeon is on her way. Call Mina." She ordered. Momo took out her phone and dialed Mina's number. Not even after the first ring she answered immediately.

"I was going to call you." She started.

"Why? Something happened?" Momo put the call into speaker.

"Akira just came to me." Jihyo and Momo shared a look.

"Did she do something to you?" -Jihyo.

"She can't harm me but she warn me that they will hunt us down." Mina's voice is still cold even in a phone call.

"Hmm when do you think you can come back? It's dangerous to be alone Mina now that they know where you are." -Jihyo.

"Another three days. I will try to finish my mission this week too." She answered. Jihyo got nervous from the idea  that she really is determined to kill her prey. Did I got it wrong?

"Okay. Report to me if they will attack again." The assassin just hums in reply and ended the call.

"Shouldn't we go after her? She's the main target of the organization." Dahyun worriedly said. She's worried that those devil might catch Mina. That would be a disaster.

"We won't. I know the organization, they won't attack Mina that carelessly. For now we need to locate how many have they sent and then plan how to eliminate those vessels." She said while her eyes is glowing blue. Every time they will use their ability the irises will change.

"Okay you can count on me captain." Dahyun smiled feeling the excitement and the worries are long gone.

"What should we do captain?" Sana asked. She already recovered from what happened. Dahyun is scary.

"We'll wait until Dahyun says where and how many then I'll send a hunt squad to kill them one by one. The elite will handle the rest of job. The special squad will focus on the organization and until Mina's return we will not commence attack." She commanded and they all agreed.

I need a plan...

Mina came back to their hotel room only to find out that Chaeyoung is already awake. She look like she just saw a ghost entered their room. Mina chuckled seeing the surprised look from her.

"Why did you wake up? You need something?" She asked and Chaeyoung just look at her like she wanted to say or ask something but didn't ask away.

"I just- uhm I got thirsty." She answered.

"Do you still have a fever?" She came near and use her palm to her forehead to check the girl's temperature. Chaeyoung flinch and took a step back. Mina noticed the weird actions of the woman. Is it because she just woke up?

"No I'm already okay. What about you? Where did you go?" She awkwardly smile. Trying to hide the fact behind her lips.

"I need fresh air so I have to go. Aren't you going to sleep?" Mina decided not to ask the girl. If she's hiding it that just means she don't want me to know.

"I'm going to sleep now. Goodnight" She smiled and laid down on her side of bed. Turning her back on Mina. Chaeyoung close her eyes and let the thoughts flood again. She's confused on what to hope. Mina just shrug the woman's weird behavior and sleeps on her side. I'm going to kill her soon why bother.

On the other side, Chaeyoung is in denial. She was trying to find answers on what she just saw. I prayed for this but I never thought to have it on this way. The woman whom I sleep with could probably my assassin and lover.

She don't want to believe it. She wanted to think that Mina is really her friend. Someone she trust and would protect her. But then she realized many things. From the small details to the big ones. The puzzle is slowly assembling itself. Chaeyoung is not stupid, she knows that this is not something to shrug.

Flashback

A kid who is covered in blood, cold intense blue eyes staring at her. She was crying as if silently saying she needs help. Chaeyoung came closer despite the calling of her parents not to go. She reached for the woman. Softly brush the tears away. She didn't know why but her own eyes starts to tear up too. Like she can feel her pain.

"Why are you crying? Don't cry Chae it'll be over soon." The kid smiled to her. Even with the bloodied face she still have the warm smile that could make Chaeyoung feel giddy inside.

"unnie.. I hate to see you like this." She cried.

"Shh everything will be okay" she whispers.

...

Chaeyoung gasp and sat up. Breathe labored from the dream she just have. Her head is starting to ring painfully. She reached for her medication on the drawer. Fuck.

She took two pills and drank it at once. Sweats slides through her forehead even if there is an air conditioner inside the room. She leaned on the head board, breathing heavily, closing her eyes tight and waiting for the pain to subside. After five minutes or pain it finally calms down. What the hell was that.

She look at Mina's side. The woman wasn't there. She took her phone to check the time and it's already midnight. Where did that penguin go?

"It's been a long time since I had a dream" She sigh and took her medicine back to the drawer only to notice something. A familiar necklace.

"This.. how.."

Surprised? yes. The necklace that her assasin wore on that night. The necklace that she gave to her unnie. The promise she made with her. The same necklace is in front of her. Chaeyoung took it out for a closer look. She can't be wrong because it has her initials. SCY.

"M-Mina.. why did I not notice?" Her mind is debating. If Mina is the assassin, is she her unnie or she's someone who knows her. Many questions on her mind. A lot of possibilities and theories to have and only the girl could answer. She put back necklace and closed the drawer.

Confusion.. she don't know what to believe anymore. Suddenly, the door click open.

End of Flashback.

What should I do? Will I ask her? What if she'll say the truth? What if she is really that assassin? Those eyes.. that is why it's so familiar. It's same cold eyes. If I'll tell her that I know already will she kill me? Is she my unnie? Ugh...

She can't stop thinking about it. Until, the sun rises up she can't still fall asleep. This will make me go crazy. I can't find a resolve.

...

"You look so tired" Mina commented while glancing at her. She's driving them to Seulgi's rest house. The latter told them if they can meet up and Chaeyoung gladly agreed. Mina tried to persuade her to just rest but she push through that she's already fine or is she?

"Am I?" she tried to see herself on a mirror. Black bags under her eyes, she look like a panda.

"Ani. You look worse. " She chuckled. Chaeyoung just sigh. She don't have the energy to banter with the girl now. Specially, that she is the cause of it. Mina noticed her timidness.

"Want to sleep?" she offered.

"I can't sleep." she sigh again.

"Why? something bothering you?" She asked. Chaeyoung doubted if she's going to answer that. Mina can easily read the girl. She can see that there is something she wanted to hide.

"It's obvious in your face that something is bothering you. Is that something related to your safety?" She asked. Chaeyoung paused again. It is related to my safety and you are the problem. She thought. But she decided not to say and just shook her head.

"Okay I know a way to make you sleep." Mina smiled. Again Chaeyoung is having hesitation. Is that smile even real?

"How?"

"Let's go to a peaceful place." She drove them to a nearby park. There are few people having a picnic but they are far from each other. (Social distancing. Just kidding xD)

"Why here?" She asks.

"I think this is peaceful enough to rest your mind." She smiled and laid the blanket on the green grass. They position themselves under a tree. Mina sat down and lean her back on the tree while Chaeyoung just stood by her side. Mina send her a look if she's going to join or nor. Chaeyoung sigh and oblige. Well maybe I can rest my mind for a bit.

She sat beside her and then laid down using Mina's lap as her pillow. So much for worrying. Mina chuckled when she laid down without even a a permission.

"Aren't you too comfortable?" She teased.

"You brought me here at least lend me your lap" She smiled. The first genuine smile she has for the day. Something inside of Mina felt relief. Those tug inside her is getting stronger each day that passed. Mina don't really know what's happening to her but she know it won't be good for her mission.

"Okay fine close your eyes and then sleep." She brought her hand on Chaeyoung's eyes to cover it. Taking her head phones, she took one for her and the other side for Chae and played some relaxing music.

"This is nice." Chaeyoung commented.

"Yeah don't say anything just sleep." Chaeyoung hums in reply and smiled.

I think I just know how to deal with it.
