Chapter 23

Nayeon and Momo came first to the scene. What they saw is an unconscious Dahyun lying on the cold cement. Blood all over her body. Seeing the situation, Momo felt the anger creep in her. Akira turned to them in a smug face.

"She fought to her last strengt-" She didn't finish her sentence as Nayeon landed a punch on her cheeks. She flew meters away and collided on the railings. Momo rushed to her friend and examined her. She's still alive but critical. Taking the syringe, she injected the girl with a high dose of heal.

"Please please work." She chanted. Waiting for the girl's wounds to heal. Fortunately, It did heal the wounds slowly.

"I'm going to break every bone you have there until it pulverize." Nayeon is angry too. She might be not so close with the girl yet but she recognized her as a comrade. Nayeon is one to take revenge for her friends.

"Feisty." Akira replied after barely standing up from the impact.

"Surprisingly you can still move from that."Nayeon's glowing eyes mocks her. Akira laughed as if she heard the funniest joke.

"That was strong but I know someone who can  kill me instantly." She smirked. Nayeon knows who she is pertaining to.

"Doesn't mean you won't die in my hands though." Nayeon tried to attack again but Akira is fast to block it. Her arms that was blocking the fist cracks. She grunts in frustration. Nayeon just smirked.

"You really get on my nerves." With the last bit of her patience her aura started to change. Nayeon sensed the danger and immediately back out. Momo who is watching the scene knows just how dangerous the situation is. Code Red.

Akira's face started to change. Her eyes white turns into black with black veins on the side of it. Her hair to white and two gigantic tails came out from her back. She scroutch down like an animal waiting to attack their prey.

"Nayeon run! we can't fight her. She's from the red project." Momo warned and Nayeon knows there's no hint of lie from that because she herself can feel it too. The monster hissed, just in time Jihyo arrived with Tzuyu and Sana. They met on the their way up and Sana wasn't in good shape at all.

"What the actual fuck." Surprised is understatement when Jihyo saw the creature in front of them. All three of them were in a trance from seeing the ghoul.

"Captain! Dahyun is.." Momo called. Sana reacted from the name and rushed to Dahyun's side. She checked for the pulse and sigh in relief seeing that she's still alive. But the blood around them makes her feel more angry. Knowing that it is from her lover. She took out her gun.

"Will she be fine?" She asked to Momo.

"She will but she lost too much blood we need to move her back in hq immediately." She responded.

"Tzuyu go with Momo." Jihyo commanded. Tzuyu nodded and she picked up the unconscious girl from the floor.

"No one will leave in this place unscratched." Akira smirked and with her tail stretched in abnormally fast pace she tried to attack the three girls. Jihyo is fast to cast an invincible barrier.

"Not in my watch." Jihyo glared and she signal for Sana to shoot. With that Sana used her ability and shot in precision. The monster retracted and used her tails to cover her body.

"Useless weaklings." She grins and attacked again. This time she's attacking Sana. Jihyo managed to protect her on time. Nayeon saw the opening and tried to launch a surprise attack on the side. It successfully hits the monster and flew meters away. But she remain unscratched even if Nayeon used a good amount of force to that.

"You little." Akira grunts and tried to attack Nayeon when something made her stop. Sana looked around and saw a woman with red eyes looking at them from the opposite building. It was Chaeyeon and she wasn't alone. Another woman who wears a hoodie and a headphone is on her side. I guess she's their hacker. Chaeyeon was the woman she fought before coming in the building. She had a hunch that the woman purposely let her go.

"What is it Chae?!" Akira angrily turns to her. She didn't replied but it seems like she talked to Akira in her own way. On Sana's observation, Chaeyeon could be one of the red project experiment too.

"Ugh! Whatever." Akira hissed. "It seems like luck is on your side today. The next time we see each other it will be your end." She smirked and used her tails to leap the wide distance between the two buildings. After landing on the other side she turned back to her normal self.

"Why did they retreat?" Nayeon is confused on why they decided to end the battle when they clearly have the upper hand.

"That was Chaeyeon." Jihyo calmly said.

"What? I thought she escaped?" Nayeon asked in surprised.

"No she sacrificed herself for her sister."

"Who is her sister?" Sana asked.

"Chaeryeong" Jihyo still has her gaze fixed at the woman on the other building. Chaeyeon's companions already turned their back. Chaeyeon was the last one to go but she waved before doing so.

"So that was it." Nayeon nodded slowly connecting the dots. It was Chaeryeong who's supposed to be caught but she sacrificed herself for her sister.

"She told me to take care of her sister. Maybe this is her way of gratitude." Jihyo let out a sigh.

"Why such a person is in that evil organization?" Nayeon stated in anger. She now remember the kid and her little sister.

"The red project is an absurd experiment where the body will be injected with a complete altered cells. It wasn't just mutated but it was different. A virus like cell. They're prisoners of the organization." Jihyo explained.

Now that we saw what a single of them are capable of. No wonder the organization sent only seven of them. They're confident that we will be defeated. But Mina is another story. She's much scary than those monsters that is why the organization is still looking for her. Jihyo thought.

"We have to do the plan."

"Uhmm I think I like you"

After spitting the water on Mina's face, Chaeyoung choked on and cough. Mina calmly took a handkerchief to wipe her face.

"Opps sorry.." Chaeyoung helped her and used her own to wipe the girl's face too. "Just how can you say such thing with a straight face?! you almost made me have a heart attack." She mumbled.

"I just realized that's how I felt when I'm with you." She honestly said when they finished fixing her face. Chaeyoung sigh. Yes she likes the idea of the girl liking her but the fact that she can't even notice without proper explanation to herself is so disturbing. I was expecting a more romantic set up.

"So you like me?" Chaeyoung reconfirmed.

"I think so." Mina nodded.

"So that's the reason why you can't- you know send me up there." She pointed at the sky.

"Hmm no I think that's not all of it." She answered.

"Okay let's sit then we talk what you felt." Chaeyoung ushered her to the bench where there is a fountain in front. They sat together and Chaeyoung waited for her to talk.

"I do wonder why but there's a tug here." She pointed at her chest. "Everytime I see you or be with you this reacted without my permission. It's like how I feel when I kill, the only difference is that it wasn't the excitement of killing. It is different and that is something I can't comprehend." She stared blankly at the fountain. Chaeyoung didn't look at her too. She's afraid of letting her feelings show. How happy she is to know that she can make her feel that way.

"Hmm do I look like someone you know?" Chaeyoung asked slowly approaching the topic.

"I don't know" Mina answered.

"What do you mean you don't?" Chaeyoung's brows creased.

"Hmmm" Mina contemplates if she's going to tell the woman something about her.

"Come on you said you like me. Can't I have a little privilege to know something more about the real you?" Chae pursued.

"I guess you are right." Mina chuckled. "Well I don't have a memory from my childhood. I don't remember who my real parents are or any related to me before." She answered.

"I see." Chaeyoung nodded to herself. Just as expected.

"But that doesn't bother me. I think it's better not to know them." She continued.

"Why is that? Don't you think your parents are looking for you? or they might be dead worried of you" Chaeyoung tried to feed the girl of possibilities. Mina just sigh and smiled with an empty one.

"It's been twelve years. I don't think they're still searching for me besides. It is for the best."

"Twelve years that long?!" What is happening?! that was the last time I saw her too.

"Yeah. So now what are your evaluations of my feelings doctor-nim?" Mina turned to her in expectation. Chaeyoung shrug the surprisement and tried to think of what to reply.

"Well I think based on your explanation. Your past is knocking back at your heart. You said you're not supposed to feel affection. I might be an exception?" Chaeyoung answered but it ends with a question too.

"Why? What's with you?" Mina asked her with curiosity.

"Hmm let's say I might be someone related to your past that's why that heart is reacting on it's own." She frankly said.

"Related to the past huh. Do you remember me somehow?" She asked. Oh I remember everything about you except the part when we last saw each other.

"Hmm let's see I don't know maybe we can look back together." Chaeyoung intended not to tell her. If the current Mina doesn't want to remember then maybe I need to respect that.

"So you know something don't you?" Mina eyed her sharply. uh oh.

"I didn't say that but maybe I do and I just happened to forgot too. After all that was a long time ago." She smiled looking at the lone fountain melancholy. This is sad.

"Well you are right." Mina agreed and the two of them stayed silent for minutes. Maybe thinking about their conversation. Pointing out important remarks. Mina is smart, undeniably. But when it comes to emotions she sucks at it. But one thing for sure. Chaeyoung is someone she can't kill. The only person who can make her live like a normal human again.

How can I rival that?

Sakura is playing with her cat on their hideout. The other two of her companion has been exchanging banters for half an hour now.

"If you only didn't stop me I might already killed those little insects!" Akira argued and slumps her body on the couch.

"The plan is to intimidate them not to kill Aki." Chaeyeon retorts crossing her arms.

"Ugh you always reason that plan. Why can't you just say that you just want to let them go." She huffs in annoyance.

"No, I don't and in the first place it is you who broke the rule. We are told not to transform right? But you let your ego get though. How different are you with Mikasa?" She spat. Chaeyeon seems to hit the right trigger.

"Don't compare me to that loser." She grunts and her eyes turns into intense red again. Sakura sensed the incoming danger and so she decided to meddle with the two.

"Stop it." She calmly interrupts. Chaeyeon looked at her. One thing for sure is that Sakura is the only person who can stop a fight from the two. Chae sighs and approached her.

"Whatever. I'm going to sleep first. Tell the boys to follow the second plan okay?" Chaeyeon patted Sakura's head and passed by to her room. Akira just huffs and storm in to her room too, leaving the woman with her cat.

"I guess we should sleep too."

I just finished reading the latest update of I Favor the Villainess. Ugh I recommend it, I'm so in love with story. It's a girlxgirl so most of you will probably like it. Though it is not in wattpad xD
