Chapter 2

Chaeng walked in with a bright smile. Everyone in the office felt the warm feeling illuminating from her. They can't help but reflect the smile every time she flashes hers. Entering the elevator, she make herself comfortable by leaning on the wall. But before the door closes someone in hurry came in, putting her feet to prevent the elevator from shutting. A girl holding a folder came in with her. Chaeyoung didn't give much attention to her as she thought that it was just someone working in their company.

When the number hits her floor, the same girl had also come out with her. Chaeyoung goes straight to her office. She drop her things beside her and sat on her chair. A knock came just minutes after she arrived.

"Come in" she said. The door opened, revealing the girl she met on the elevator.

"Good morning Pd Son" the girl greeted with a bow. Chaeyoung gave her a warm smile.

"Ah you are the one that chihuahua recommended right?" she grins. Mina confusedly look at her. Does she mean Tzuyu? She thought.

"Oh I mean Chou Tzuyu. Uhm if It's okay to ask, what's your relationship with that tall girl?" she asked trying not to be so curious and scare the girl.

"We're colleges and friends from my former job" She subtly smiled. She learned how to fake a smile when it's necessary.

"Really? so you're a model too? woah a dancer and model wanting to be an assistant producer. Tell me what's on your mind?" she said in a halfway joke manner. Mina tried not to come out as cold as what she really is and gave her a fake small laugh.

"I'm exploring my life Pd-nim" She cheered. Chaeyoung reflected the same smile but there is something she noticed. Her smile doesn't reach her eyes. She thought.

"That's admiring Myoui-ssi. Let's do our best in making great music" She didn't bother to ask the girl since it's not her matter.

"Take care of me Pd-nim" She bowed again. Chaeyoung smiled then stood up from her seat and lead her to the music room. Mina practiced herself on the basics of how to make songs. She tried to know more about her supposed to be job and avoid suspicions. Chaeyoung experimented for some time and she's there to give her suggestions in making it more better.

"It's too much upbeat let's go with more chilling one" Chae brought up her hand to her chin, thinking. Spending time with her target makes Mina more impatient. She can do her job in more simpler and easy way but that wussy client makes it more complicated.

After hours of making sheets and tunes, a knock came. A certain short hair with round pretty doe eyes peeked from it. Mina didn't recognized the girl but she found her familiar.

"Chaengie we're going to grab some food wanna come?" She smiled. Jihyo seems not to notice that the youngest is with someone. Chaeyoung looked at the time and gasped that she didn't even notice that it's already lunch break. Turning to her partner she offered her a smile.

"Let's go have lunch first." She stood up first. Mina wondered how the small girl could produce such charming smile. I really should just kill her as fast as possible. She thought.

"You can go first Pd-nim. I'll just wait for my sisters to eat with" She politely smile and rejected the offer. Chaeyoung blinked and nodded, understanding the situation.

"Very well let's see each other after lunch" Chae bid her goodbye and goes out with Jihyo. That's her cue to release the façade she made. Leaning on her chair, she took out her phone and dialed someone's number.

"I'll meet you guys at the usual place" Before the other line could answer she ended the call. Mina stared at the glass separating the recording room. Her cold eyes reflecting on it.

"Why the hell do I need to wear such nasty emotions just for a stranger" she sighed and tried to calm her building annoyance. Not to the girl, it's for her client. Surprisingly, the girl does not get to her nerves with her bright personality. She noticed how professional she is and the look of determination in her eyes is really something.

"So how's the job?" Sana asked while giving Dahyun a slice of steak.

"Nothing much. Killing her is much easier than I thought." She answered with her now cold expression.

"Really? I thought she hired some bodyguard. Base from my intel, her father was made known of your supposed to be assassination." Momo casually sips on her drink. Mina look out from the window completely occupied by her thoughts. She wondered how the girl she met today were so defenseless. Her father is known for being overprotective of her and knowing that someone tried to murder her princess is not something he could shrug off.

"I should stay on my guard then" she said not giving them a look.

The five friends is having their interrogation on a certain tall yoda who looks so calm even with her worked out unnies.

"So you left just because you want some time for yourself for fucking years?" Nayeon can't help but feel stupefied by her friends reasoning.

"Chewie-ah you should just told us that you're still alive before doing that. A simple message won't hurt" Jeongyeon sighed crossing her arms. The questioning continues until they came to agreement that they'll just forget about it and that they should celebrate for her return. They'll be having a gathering after work on a club the yoda chose. Chaeyoung were pretty happy seeing her best friend back but surely she noticed some differences on the woman's demeanor. It was like she's hiding something.

Chaeyoung's phone vibrated, she excused herself seeing who's calling. The four let her answer the call and continue their talks. Chae walk out to receive the call.

"Appa why are you calling again?" she annoyingly answered.

Mr. Son: I'm just checking on my princess. Anything wrong with that?

Chaeng wanted to roll her eyes hearing her father's aegyo disgusting voice. He's always like this when talking to her. Her mother even threatened him she'll kick him out if she's going to hear it again.

"I know that's not what you want" She sigh. She could hear her father chuckle from the other line.

Mr. Son: Very well, I'm here to ask if you already look through the list of application I sent you? I need to hire that person Chaeyoung-ah.

His voice from soft turns to a very serious one. Chaeyoung knows when her father use this tone of him, she can't do anything but comply. When it comes to her safety her old man won't let a scratch go. Her father sent her a list of possible bodyguards they could hire. As a kind father he is, he asked her permission on who to hire. She told him it'll be beneficial for her to hire a girl.

"I still need to consider things. I'll look at it again later and call you. Please give me more time appa" she don't really want a bodyguard but her father insist. Her father rarely ask for a favor from her, she can't bring herself to say no knowing that it's for her safety too.

Mr. Son: Okay princes-

She ended the call before hearing the disgusting voice coming back again. Looking at the sky, she can't help but sighed.

"Problems you have?" A voice came behind her making her jump in surprise.

"Jesus Tzuyu don't sneak like that" she said holding her chest. Tzuyu laughed and stared back inside then back to her.

"Tell me what's bothering you first before we go inside" She cheekly nudge the smaller girl. Chae give her a raised brow then realization hit her. The taller could help her this time.

"Yoda your brother runs a top security company right? Can you recommend me a bodyguard? appa is bothering for giving him a name to hire" She pouted. Tzuyu blinked for a moment a think.

"Well yes I can help you with that but why do you need a bodyguard?" The taller girl asked. Chaeyoung then realized that her friend didn't know about the almost assassination of hers. Without a choice, she told the girl what happened. Tzuyu acted like it's her first time hearing these things and did what she's supposed to do. She gave the girl a worried look and assured her that she'll find the most suitable bodyguard for her. Chaeyoung felt relieved that her best friend will help her.

"Oh wait I think I already found the right person just for you" she beamed, clapping her hands together. This is perfect. She thought. Chaeyoung blinked seeing how excited her friend is.

"Are you sure?" She asked, still skeptical.

"Very much my friend" taking her wrist, they made their way inside again.

Chaeyoung came back to the company with a lighter feeling now that the thoughts about finding a bodyguard won't bother her. Mina was already there when she came inside.

"oh Myoui-ssi did you eat well?" She asked smiling. Mina smiled back and bowed when she entered the room.

"Ne pd-nim" Chaeyoung looked at her eyes and somehow the pair makes her feel cold.

"That's good. Let's continue then" Going back to work, she shrug the thoughts about the cold empty eyes of the girl. The time ticks and they found themselves comfortable working together already. Chaeyoung has warmed up to the girl and it seems like it's the same for the other.

"Myoui-ssi can I call you Mina?" She asked. Mina was surprised to the sudden question.

"Of course it's okay Pd-nim, whatever makes you comfortable" She smiled. Chaeyoung beamed to her answer and face the girl by turning the chair on her direction.

"Then please call me Chaeng or Chaeyoung. We're going to be working together so it's better to be friends" She said which made Mina wonder how her target is so easy to befriend. She look so innocent and ignorant from the bad possibilities of the world. Come to think of it, she even asked me to work for her. She thought. She can't really read what's going inside her target's mind.

"Glad to be your friend, Chaeyoung" she muster the brightest smile she can make and shake the hands of the girl. Chaeyoung felt a surge of happiness seeing the smile of the girl. Somehow it reminds her of someone she can't remember. The two continued on their work with much easiness on the air. Mina tried to make herself get closer the girl and gain her trust to fulfill her mission but she's still careful enough not to forget her goal.

After hours of work they decided to have a brake. Chaeyoung invited her to have coffee on the nearest coffee shop. She accepted as it was also a great opportunity to know her more. They are walking their way when she received a weird message from a certain wicked girl.

The first wave has come

It says, and she felt puzzled from it. She know the girl was planning something again. Out of all people she have met, Tzuyu is the most complicated one to read. She's like a book full of riddles you can't easily understand. She said Chaeyoung is an important friend but she's helping someone who wants to assassinate her. A really complicated person, she must say.

She tried to stay on guard in case the girl will really do something drastic. On their way to the shop, someone in a bike came to stop in front of them. Mina felt the rush of blood and her instinct came after her. The man in a helmet took out a gun and pointed it towards the girl she's supposed to kill. Chaeyoung stood cemented on her place with the sudden scenario in front of her. Mina took Chaeyoung's hand and drag her away before he fired the gun. The stranger in bike hissed and cussed but continued to fire on them. When Mina and Chaeyoung entered the alley the man followed.

"Hide here. I'll take care of this" She said unconsciously. Her mind is starting to be filled with different ways of killing the impudent. Chaeyoung wondered how the girl look so calm and composed while they have someone with a gun chasing after them.

"Wait will you be alright?" She worriedly asked.

"Yes and no one will hurt you don't worry" She said and gave the girl a reassuring smile. Chaeyoung can't do anything but to let go of the girl's hand. She's hiding at the corner where it's pretty dark. Mina walks out to face the man. She has the look, a very pissed one.

"No one can kill you unless it's me" she whispered to herself.
