Chapter 4

Mina took a breath before carefully pushing the button. She heard a loud thud and hurried steps coming fast to the door. Not after a minute the door opened with a smiling girl. It was Chaeyoung wearing a hoodie and some track pants. Her hair was tied messily but still she look so cute and appealing for a girl.

"Hey" She greets. Mina offered a smile.

"Hey, uhm can I come?" She asked.

Chaeyoung opened the door wider and mutter a "Sorry please come in" Mina wondered how innocent could her boss be and let herself enter her victim's house. She roam her eyes around remembering the night she sneak in.

"Your room will be there" She pointed the guest room that has been unoccupied since she move out from her parents estate. Mina nodded and drag herself with her luggage in hand to the said room.

"I'll be in be in the kitchen to prepare our dinner" She smiled and let the girl fix her things. Mina look around and wondered how the room look so neat and clean. She drop her things and started arranging it to her temporary closet. She has two bags, one with her clothes while the other is her necessities. The last one to be pulled out from her bags is a small briefcase containing the most important thing for her to live.

She carefully hide her weapon under her pillow and then took a shower to change. Meanwhile, Chaeyoung is almost done with her cooking. She don't know what her bodyguard slash assistant likes to eat but she decided to cook anything her mind comes up with and will just ask her later. Honestly speaking, the girl is not used to having a guest or someone live with her. She likes her own privacy and free time. Not that she hate Mina but there are things she can't get used to as fast. Just as before she could lost again in her thoughts, Mina came out from her room with more comfortable clothes.

"Need a hand?" Mina offered with a smile but her eyes stays empty. Chaeyoung wondered how could such beautiful eyes look so lonely and cold.

"Hmm then I guess you can prepare the table?" Mina nodded and started preparing the plates and utensils with Chae directing her where they are. The food is done and so she serves it with a little nervousness if her guest will like it.

"Look so appetizing, what else can you do Chaeyoung?" She halfly teased and wondered. Chaeyoung blushed, she might take it as a compliment.

"I can do many things but I'm just an average" She shrug not wanting to be bumptious. Mina gave her a smirk as if saying she don't believe her.

"Then maybe being the top of your art class is also called average?" She said as if mocking the girl. Chae frowned, mentally noting to send a scolding message to her dear father.

"It's no big deal Mina" She sigh. She admits she excels in her studies but it's not like its just her. There are many people who excels in their own and she don't categorize herself as someone high. Just a normal person who do what she loves to do.

"Hmm okay" Mina knows not to pry further noticing that the girl was not really fond of flattery about her achievements. They started to eat, occasionally talking about work. Mina then realize that Chae is not the usually rich brat that would brag about everything she has. She's humble and kind? She sounds like she don't even like her high status and wanted to live like an average person. The more she knows the girl, the more she has to remind herself not to get attached. It's her assassin pride to do what she must.

"So Mina, you said you used to work in CSI? Why did you quit?" Chae opened another topic. Of course Mina should expect the girl would ask about her made up past.

"Just wanted to experiment new things. As I told you before I'm an adventurous person" She said wanting to throw up imagining herself to be what her lie. The truth is she's a homebody and she rarely goes out only if she has to do her job.

"I see, but then my father convinced you" They just finished their food.

"He's generous with his offer." Mina winked. Truthfully, the girl's father does have his way to convince people. Even if without Tzuyu's backup, she'll still probably agree.

"Yeah money is not a problem to him" Chae sighed. Her father would even buy a city for her if she ask. She loves her father but sometimes he's just overreacting and somehow that's really annoying.

"So as you. You are his daughter" Chaeyoung frowned on that.

"I only use what I earn Myoui-san" She gave her an offended look. Mina blinked in confusion why the small girl suddenly got agitated.

"I didn't say it to offend you Chaeng" Mina stood up with her empty plate. "Leave the dishes i'll do it since you cooked" She smiled. Chaeyoung blinked how the girl were so calm with her. Surely, her bodyguard slash assistant is an oddball. With a sigh she agreed and left her plate on the sink.

"Will you sleep after doing the dishes?" She asked.

"No. I'm going to call someone" Mina started to wash the dishes.

"Oho a boyfriend?" Chaeyoung teased. Mina gave her a weird look.

"Ani why would you think about that?" Chae leaned her back on kitchen isle and shrug.

"Nothing I just thought that with your beauty you might have a lover?" Mina continued to gave her a look for seconds until she sighed and continue what she is doing.

"I don't have a boyfriend. I'm calling my friends whom I used to live with." Chaeyoung continued to stare at the girl as if she's reading her if what she's saying is true. To her dismay she can't make out an answer with her blank expression.

"Are they japanese too?" she asked. Mina paused for a moment before slowly nodding.

"What was that are you not sure?" Chae laughed at the lowkey shading of the girl.

"It just that they're more into korean stuff now. But yeah they're japanese and the other one has a girlfriend" Chae's ear perks up from that.

"Oh so you're okay with that?"

"About what?" She asked. Not giving a glance to the curious girl.

"You know your friend swinging that way" She shrug trying not to look obvious. Mina stop whatever she is doing and stared at her.

"why won't I? It's their life" She cooly answered and continue what she is doing. Chaeyoung, somehow found it amazing how the girl could be so calm about everything. It was like she has answers prepared for any questions.

"Very well, I'll be in my room if you need something" Mina just nodded and she walk back to her room. She slumps in her bed while staring at her empty ceiling.

Mina is not bad. She thought. Tzuyu made a right decision for recommending her, hitting two birds in one stone. Still, even with the girl's friendly approach, she felt there was something amiss. A feeling that has been bugging inside since she saw the girl. She can't even understand what kind of feeling is it. Am I attracted to her? But I still love my first love and I made a promise. She thought. Messing her hair in confusion, she took the pillow and hide her face.

"Please come back penguin-chan"

Tzuyu is having a dinner with her unnies. They supposed to be with the cub but she declined for the reason that her bodyguard will be living with her starting today.

"Nayeon are you okay?" Jeongyeon suddenly noticed her pale girlfriend.

"I'm fine just feeling under the weather" She smiled timidly. Jihyo and Tzuyu shared a look while Jeong has her eyes fixed on her girlfriend.

"Do you want to go home now?" Jeongyeon holds her lover's hand and noticed the coldness of it.

"You should go unnie, Jihyo unnie will send me home" Tzuyu reassured the older and that made her nod in agreement. Aa much as she want to spend some time with her dear dongsaeng she's not feeling well. So Jeong guided her to their car and bid their goodbyes to the two.

"We'll get going" Jeong closed the door for Nayeon and faced her other friends.

"take care unnie" Tzuyu and Jihyo side hug her and the older one nodded with a smile. The two lovers left leaving the other two alone.

"So what are we going to do now?"  Tzuyu gave the older one a look.

"Hmm wanna go visit the cub?" Jihyo suggested.

"Nah no thanks she's probably busy with her stuffs and her bodyguard" She rolled her eyes as if she's really annoyed. Jihyo laughed at the younger's reaction.

"Then should we go visit your other friends?" she took her car keys and they started to walk towards the older's car.

"We can. I can introduce you to them but just a piece of advice unnie" they stop in front of her car.

"Be careful with a certain snake" Jihyo blinked in confusion what the yoda just said.

"What snake?" She asked. Tzuyu sighed and walk to the side of the car to enter.

"You'll see"

They enter to the certain building where the japanese stayed. Jihyo were familiar of it since she's been there before but not in their apartment. The elevator ding, indicating their arrival.

"Tzuyu you brought a friend!" Momo happily welcome the two.

"Yeah where are the other two?" She looked around looking for the love birds.

"Dahyun will be late. Her father called for her assistance so she's not here. While Sana is in the shower." she explained to Tzuyu then gave Jihyo a smile.

"Hi I'm Hirai Momo the  goddess of jokbal" She offered her hand for a hand shake. Jihyo gave her a weird look and took it.

"Goddess of what?" She asked again, because she thought she might hear it wrong.

"Jokbal. So you are?" The girl in front of her were so innocent that she wondered if it's just a kid disguising as an adult.

"Jihyo. Park Jihyo, Tzuyu's unnie." they shake hands and suddenly they heard a door opening.

"Chewie!!! You're ba- Holy Moly you brought a goddess with you" Sana's eyes were literally sparkling seeing Jihyo.

"Jihyo unnie this is Minatozaki Sana the snake" She introduce the blonde without much care on her tone. Jihyo now understand what she meant by snake. The girl in front of her look like it's going to eat her any moment.

"Sana unnie this is Jihyo unnie, she's straight" She ended her word, putting a clear straight word on it. But it seems like the snake didn't hear that and took Jihyo's hands on her own.

"Say Jihyo-ssi do you have a lover?" She asked.

"y-yeah a boyfriend" She answered with much uncomfort with the girl.

"Aw that man must have done godly good in his past life" she said still with a smile. Jihyo slowly shifted her hands back.

"Yeah hehe" She shyly lower her head.

"Sana unnie I'm calling Dahyunie if you won't stop" Tzuyu gave the older girl a cold glare. Sana acted like she's hurt.

"Aw what did I do again Chewie-ah" she pouted.

"You're making my guest uncomfortable" She deadpan. Sana look back at Jihyo.

"Am I?" She asked. Jihyo nodded slowly with honesty.

"Oh don't get the wrong idea. I'm sorry, I'm just this clingy kind of person but I already have someone I'll forever love in my life" She winked, that made Jihyo sighed in relief. She thought the girl is some kind of a player.

"That's good for you" she smiled.

"Yeah I pretty hit the jackpot ey" she grin and so their continue their conversation with much easiness in the air now.

...

"So you know Mina?" Momo asked, shocked.

"Well, she's my other dongsaeng's bodyguard so yes I know her" Sana and Momo shared a look. Jihyo noticed the flash of guilt in those eyes.

"ohh yeah Chaeyoung right?" Sana averted her eyes on the floor. Tzuyu eyed her two friend and wondered why they are acting odd so suddenly.

"Hey Jihyo unnie you should go home now" She change the topic to brush the uneasiness in the air. Good thing the other two took the hint and shifted their emotions back.

"Oh it's already this late huh. I need to go then. Thank you for your time Momo and Sana" She stood up and bowed to the two girls.

"It's a pleasure to be friends with you Jihyo" Momo smile and Sana agreed. They four girls separated with Jihyo and Tzuyu going out.

"I can go back to my car on my own Tzuyu." she smiled.

"Okay.. uhm unnie-"

"I know they're pretty transparent" She laughed before leaving on the elevator.
