Chapter 6

The darkness wasn't helping with their tight situation. The air conditioner has no use without electricity, and so the very closed room accompanied by a mirror wall. But not any of that bothers Mina. It was the one behind this mishap. She has the idea who can pull such trick but there's no way those people will meddle with her. Knowing what she can do to them.

"Who are you?" Mina did not care anymore if Chaeng could hear her real tone cause all she wants right now is to kill the person behind that speaker.

"Just no one" she dismissively said "hey Son Chaeyoung you hear me? Let's play a game."

Chaeyoung guessed this person only wants her. No, it is definitely her that they want. She felt sorry to her friends who got caught up with the predicament. God I only want a normal life why is it so hard to have?

"I am listening. What do you want?" she sigh, completely defeated.

"Chae don't-" Mina tried to stop the girl but Chaeyoung is tired of having this over and over again. Not that she's tired of living but the chances of that are pretty slim for someone like her who was born with a golden spoon.

"Mina it's okay we can't do anything right now though." She smiled to her bodyguard who were long different from the sassy woman before. Mina just stare at her with those empty cold eyes that she ever wondered to know the story behind.

"Good girl, you see you're security in this building sucks. I even set a bomb without someone noticing it. I suggest you should hire someone capable of taking care of your safety. Only if you survive here." Chaeyoung could feel that person is smiling. "So here's a deal, I made this little studio of yours an escape room. I wanted some fun too cause it'll be too easy and boring killing you immediately. So there's a gun inside that box on the left corner. That's an emergency box in case you want to kill yourself. You know saving me the dirty hands." The perpetrator laughed. God this person is sick.

"Why are you doing this? just kill me already-"

"Like hell I'll let that stupid coward" Mina enterrupted her. She's not taking any of these bullshit games. Not when she already figured out who's behind this. Anger creeps in her veins. I'm going to kill them.

"I know I don't stand a chance in a close fight with you Mina but you can't beat me in my game. Ms. Son that door has a lock. Find the clue in this room for the password and you are free to go" Of course Chaeyoung knows that's a lie maybe her unnies can be freed but her? She doubt, because she is the reason why this lunatic is here. The speaker became static and stopped.

"What should we do Jeong?" Nayeon stared at her lover and Jeong only has this troubled eyes.

"I don't know but for now let's look for a clue" She sigh tiredly.

"Do you think what she said is true?" Jihyo doubted the culprit will just let them go that easily but then just after she said that, a time flashes on the small screen of their phones. It was hacked. They can't access it, not even turn it off.

"Sorry unnies. It's my fault why you are all here" Chaeng felt horrible for bringing her friends into trouble. Jihyo patted her shoulders and smiled.

"It's not your fault Chaeng besides we rather be with you than to let you get through this alone" Chaeyoung smiled on that. This unnie of sure knows what to say.

"Yeah no one is blaming you here cub. We have your back" Nayeon winked and Chaeng tried her best not to cringe with her unnie's antics.

"Bro we both die or live but I honestly wished it's the latter. Stop thinking too much you twit" Jeong gave her a nudge and they both giggled, completely forgetting their situation for a second.

"God whoever is behind this is a damn genius in hacking" Chaeng blinked in amazement on how planned is this for killing her.

"You mean a psycho right?" Jeong crossed her arms, eyes still at the screen of her phone. There is a time limit, they need to find the clues immediately.

Inside the studio is a wide mirror wall, one long table, five chairs for the five of them, the informations about the auditionees, an air conditioner. They searched every corner but they can't came up with any possible clues. Ten minutes has passed of their searching.

"This doesn't makes sense" Jeong frustratingly sat on the chair and lean in with force only to feel something sharp stabbing her back. "What the fu-" She immediately stand up and look at the chair.

"What is it Jeongie?" Nayeon gave her a worried look.

"There is something on the chair it sta-" Jeong suddenly felt weak. Her body starts to feel numb as she gets down on her knees. She felt drowsiness and she can't stop herself to fall.

"Jeong?! Hey what's wrong?!" Nayeon starts to panic seeing her girlfriend getting pale and paler every second.

"Unnie?!!" They gathered around the girl who seems to lost her strength. Nayeon holds her on her arms already crying for the unknown. Mina squinted her eyes, the girl has her nails turning to bluish color and her eyes seems to pinpoint. She immediately came near the girl and check her pulse. It's shallow and it seems like it's getting slower. Damn, it's an overdose of opioid.

"She's drugged" Mina is not a doctor herself but in her work she knows those deadly chemicals.

"What should we do Mina?" Chaeyoung wanted to cry for the scene in front of her but she can't. Not when she needs to keep it together. Nayeon on the other hand felt so weak seeing her lover in difficult situation. The speaker came to a static again.

"Congratulations! You found a special clue. First letter will be M now three to go. Oh and please hurry up, that drug can kill her over an hour from now" and then it's off again. Mina wanted to snap the neck of that person. She's not really a patient person and she knows they know that.

"What the hell how are supposed to-"

Jihyo got interrupted when Nayeon who was just silently crying seconds ago stood up. Her eyes full of determination, rage, hate and it seems like the air around her screams death.

"Open the damn door or I'll fucking hunt you to death if something bad happen to Jeongyeon" She threatened. Chaeng could feel the killing intent. This is the first time she saw her unnie this angry. It seems like she's going to erupt any moment. But the person behind does not reply. Nayeon who is in rage decided to risk something she has never used for the past twelve years. Her eyes irises gets darker and darker and skin getting paler. Mina noticed it and then she realize it now. Nayeon is like her, like them.

"Woah woah easy. I didn't know there is someone here like us. The antidote is on the flower pot." Nayeon did not waste time to get the flower pot and throw it. Under the roots is a little ziplock with one pill inside.

"If you lie to me. I'll cut your head into tiny pieces, dry and grind it to make a fertilizer." Nayeon is serious. A dead serious. But Chaeyoung is confused, she look at Mina and her savior remained stoic. What does that person means with like them? Who Nayeon unnie?

"Yeah whatever, you all say gross things but one thing for sure this is getting interesting" The speaker then goes off. Nayeon took the pill and let Jeongyeon drink it but the older one is too weak to swallow it. So Nayeon has to drink a water and transfer it on her lover's mouth. Chaeng immediately avoided her gaze as she felt like she'll get awkward seeing it. Yeah I saw them make out but that doesn't mean I am used to it.

After minutes, the pills seems to take effect as Jeongyeon's breathing starts to be normal. Her face no longer as pale as minutes ago. Nayeon sighed in relief and hug her lover tight, afraid that she might lose her any minutes from now. But then when her mind is all clear and calm, she realized what the intruder said.

"You, what do you mean by being like you?" She asked, aware that the person behind is just listening to them.

"I mean what I mean. But I am no fool to take risk not knowing my enemy." The person sigh. "I don't know what you can do. A man must not corner someone without knowing what he is cornering into. So you can go." They heard the lock clicking and the door opened. "But we'll see each other again. Pretty soon." Just like that the power came back and everything seems back into normal. Only that it isn't. Nayeon knows she can't go back. The time has come, her past is coming to hunt her.

Chaeyoung got more confused about what she meant by that. How could the person let them go? Why is she afraid of the unknown about Nayeon? Why things seems out of place and she felt like she's the only one clueless. I felt really useless now. What does that person want?. Chaeyoung came to the conclusion that she wasn't the main reason why the person behind did this or maybe she is but she just found something much interesting than her.

Mina stayed silent with the exchange of words. She know this will make a change. Something they never expected. She fished out her phone and texted someone.

To: Snake

'Meet me at the HQ tomorrow. We need to talk.'

From: Snake

'Roger'

Jeongyeon was brought in the hospital. The audition was cancelled and it seems like no one really noticed what happened. They wanted to report but they know they can't. There is no trace left from the perpetrator. Like a ghost she vanished into thin air. Chaeng decided to report it her father and Mr. Son decided to hire and install the building a much better security. She also called Tzuyu who came fast to the hospital. Nayeon never left Jeongyeon's side not even a minute.

"Chaeng you should go home now" Jihyo gave a comforting smile trying to ease the guilt in those innocent eyes.

"Yeah maybe I should" She sigh.

"Please take care of her Mina-ssi" Jihyo politely bowed to her.

"I will Ms. Park" Mina returned the gesture.

"Call me if unnie wakes up okay? and please tell Nayeon unnie to rest and take care of herself." Chaeng hug her unnie a good seconds. "That also applies to you unnie" She gave Jihyo a serious tone which made the older giggle and nodded. Tzuyu stood beside Jihyo silently.

"Don't worry Chaeng I'll make sure they'll be fine" Tzuyu answer her and Chaeng felt much relieved seeing her friend.

"I know I can count on you. We'll get going then" She smiled, exhaustedly.

They entered the condo and Chaeng immediately slump herself in the couch. She felt having a headache from the recent predicament. Just what just happened? Was that a joke? But she knows it isn't. That person who did that knows something bigger. A deep secret that her Nayeon unnie seems to know.

"Want some tea?" Mina sat beside her with two cups of tea in hands. Chaeyoung sigh and took the tea cup.

"I can't believe what just happened today. I mean is that a dream? It happened so fast and ended just like that" She huffs in frustration and drinks her tea immediately.

"Ouc- Aishh"

"Of course it's hot. Why don't you take a nap and stop thinking about what happened for some hours?" She suggested.

"How can I slee-"

"Stop complaining. You didn't even try." Mina gave her a dead stare. Now that reminds Chaeyoung the Mina before. That Mina is a hell of an iceberg. Is she always like that in work? but I better not get on her bad side.

"Tsk. Fine" She laid herself comfortably on the couch and close her eyes. God her head is ringing in pain. Mina noticed that as Chaeng creased her brows. She put down her tea cup and start massaging her boss's temple.

"Ahh that's better" Chaeng groan in satisfaction.

"I didn't get paid for nothing" She said with a smirk though the girl can't see it.

"Should I consider myself lucky then?" Chaeng chuckled on her remarks.

"More than lucky" To be killed by me.

Chaeng just laughed at that. This bodyguard slash assistant of her is really shameless but not that she hates it. She actually likes how it doesn't felt offending and just felt the comfort she gives. Mina continues to massage her head.

"Hey Mina" she called.

"What?"

"You don't need to pretend when you're with me" Mina got taken aback by her sudden words.

"What do you mean?"

"You can show me the real you."

"What real?"

"You know that cold you"

"Cold?"

"Yeah, I might be dense sometimes but I can see it in your eyes."

"Only sometimes?" Mina smiled on that. This girl is beyond she can even comprehend.

"Okay fine maybe every time" She pouts.

"I told you to stop that"

"I can't help it it's a habit"

"Well maybe it's the same case" This time it's Chaengyoung's turn to get confused. She opened her eyes only to met the empty cold ones of Mina.

"Maybe it's the habit that I can't let you"
