182 Iâll Wait For It
(Janeâs PoV)
I shifted my feet to avoid this attack, at the same time pushing the thing in my right hand to block the hand that came to me. The thing I was holding was another arm, from the texture of it, I was sure it was a manâs arm.
It felt firm, strong, and not overly muscular. So yes, it was a manâs arm.
This time, I went offensive. Clutching the arm with my both hands, I threw him over my shoulder. Even with my smaller frame, I could throw an adult similar to Tom or Sanjiâs body over my shoulder after being taught by Siji. My hellish training didnât only involve about spiritual training, after all, but also physical training where I pushed the limit of my physical strength to the point I couldnât believe I could achieve.
There was a loud sound when his body slammed the ground. I jumped back a bit after I attacked him. I didnât hear a grunt, normal sound people made when they were being thrown to the ground, which meant whoever I threw on the ground was not an ordinary man.
I cursed the darkness that surrounded me until I felt nearly blind. Where was I, actually? Why was there no one here? Where were Sanji and Tom? Siji?
I tried to call out for Siji, but he didnât respond. It was strange. Other than being late for several times because he was taking care the matter with Tom, he had never been late before. Not to mention not appearing at all.
It was just impossible. I couldnât even summon the men. What was going on here? Where was I, actually?
âDonât even bother trying.â A voice was reverberated through the darkness.
.....
Another attack came. Again, I dodged and counter-attacked.
âYou wonât be able to wake up for some time.â The voice said again.
And another attack. I couldnât counter-attack but at least I dodged.
Wake up? Then, was I asleep?
If I was really asleep, then I was dreaming at this moment. Since this man could talk casually like this, he must be an intruder. Tom could enter my dream when he was still a spirit, this man must be something similar. But, thatâs not the point.
Since it was in my dream, I should be able to control it, right? With that realization in my mind, I tried to put a light in this stupid dark room.
The keyword was âtryâ.
It was hard to put my one hundred percent effort in this try since I kept getting attack from the owner of the voice.
âWho are you?â I shouted in annoyance.
I heard him chuckled and felt that it was scarily familiar with someone I knew.
âIt seems like you forgot about me that easily. Didnât I say that I would play with you?â
So, I was right. It was no surprise for me. Only this evil creature could come and go as he pleased after torturing me. No, he didnât mean to torture me. He wanted to kill me.
I needed to light up my surrounding so that I could see him better. With that thought in my mind, the room was slowly brightening up. Even when I was getting attacked, the room still brightened up gradually.
It was a big white room, similar to my consciousness. But, there was no smoke like spiritual power around. It was just a plain white room. It was so big that I couldnât see the end of the room. But, standing not far from me was the man who appeared in my house that day.
The devil who claimed himself as the enemy of First Master.
He was still wearing that smile on his face. His expression was much less the same with the one he showed me that time.
I frowned. âWhat do you want?â
âWhat else? Play with you, of course.â He said casually. His body disappeared, but this time I was ready.
I dodged his vicious kick and even kicked him back. His leg was slammed to the ground and I delivered the second kick on his thigh.
âYouâre getting better, little girl.â He smiled as he blocked my kick easily.
I didnât stop, though. I continued my attack on him, using all kinds of martial arts Siji taught me. It was a pity that I couldnât use my spiritual power on him since I couldnât feel it. Because I couldnât feel it, thereâs no way I could summon it.
Hm? There must be a way. After all, this was my dream.
In no time, I could feel the familiar flow of spiritual power in me. Since this man was a devil, any physical and spiritual attack would work on him. Combining my physical and spiritual attack, I really caught him off guard.
âNice!â He smiled wider, and for a second I could see a trace of joy and proud in his usually stoic eyes.
We exchanged blows for more than ten minutes. Even though I still couldnât really hurt him since he was so capable -I hated to admit that -at least, there were some times I could make him flustered with my attack.
In the end, I was defeated. He tied me up with his dark mist, with both of my hands in his hands to prevent me summoning another spiritual power to hit him. He was standing in front of me, stepping closer to me as he peered into me with his black eyes.
Now that I think of it, it looked and felt slightly intimate with my hands in his hands and his face closed to mine. But at that time, I didnât feel anything like this.
âYouâre showing a rapid progress. Thatâs very good. But, with only this kind of ability, you wonât be able to defeat me.â He told me softly. He was smiling mockingly at me even though he talked to me softly. He sounded more like a victor mocking the loser, and I was so upset listening to him.
âJust you wait! Iâll definitely defeat you like First Master kicked your ass!â I growled at him.
He blinked his eyes and I thought I saw pain in his eyes. Another blink and it was gone. Was I over thinking things?
Also, why did I feel the way he was holding my hands was gentler and not like he was restraining me?
âIâll wait for it.â He said in a whisper, and he disappeared just like that.
I was dumbfounded at his unusual behavior. I couldnât see the malicious and killing intent he displayed at that time. I couldnât even feel the fear that I felt at that time when I first met him. He didnât act like this at that time.
Screw him, I needed to get myself together and reminded myself that he wanted to kill me. There was no point in thinking about him that way. However he acted was not my concern. I only needed to make sure that I could survive if he appeared again. Probably kicked his ass so that he would stop bothering me. But, I doubted it could happen in the near future.
Since he had gone, I needed to wake up. Wake up, Jane!
