93 I Donât Dare, Milady
I looked at Tom who was also looking at me. My heart felt heavy when I thought he would leave me. But, it hurt even more when I thought he would die for real.
If I were to think rationally, I would have let him go back to his body. I didnât mind being separated from him for a bit, as long as I knew that he would eventually return to my side.
But, this time it was different.
I didnât know if he would come back or not. I didnât even know if he would still remember me or not.
There were too many possibilities that made me scared to let him go.
But, I reminded myself again that there was a high possibility of Tom being alive; breathing, warm, and... human.
Even though it was hard, I decided to let him go.
âMilady?â Siji was waiting for my decision.
âSend him back.â I was surprised to hear my own voice sounded so weak.
.....
âJane.â Tom hugged me tight. âI will stay if thatâs what you want me to do.â
I shook my head. âIâll wait for you. Just come back safe and sound. You do know that I have Sanji beside me. If you take too long to return, Iâm afraid you...â
âNo!â He cut me off. A smile bloomed in my face as my intention to tease him succeeded.
His face hardened as he glared at me. âDonât you dare!â He growled.
I chuckled. âGo...â I pushed him lightly.
âJane, promise me youâll wait for me.â He pleaded.
I nodded my head. âOf course.â
Only after hearing my answer that he released his hold on my body and walked towards Siji who was waiting so patiently.
âIâm ready.â Tom stood in front of Siji.
Siji reached out and widely spread his fingers. His thumb and point finger touched Tomâs forehead while the others were covering Tomâs eyes. Seconds later, I saw Tomâs transparent body disappeared bit by bit. My heart thumped loudly and painfully as I watched him disappeared.
When he was finally no where to be found, I found Siji frowned slightly.
âWhat is it?â I squinted my eyes. Donât tell me you send him to a wrong place, I said in my mind.
âNothing, Milady.â Siji bowed slightly. He looked calm but somehow I felt that he was hiding something from me.
âSiji, you better donât hide anything from me.â I reminded him.
â...I donât dare, Milady.â He lowered his head. âItâs just... I detected something from him, an aura not belong to him is in his body.â
I frowned. âIs it harmful?â
âI have no idea, Milady. I didnât have any chance to look into it before he went. Seeing the way the owner hid its aura so well, I could only guess the owner is powerful.â
My frown got deeper. I was worried that it would bring trouble to Tom even before he returned to his body.
âIs there any other way to know where his body is?â
Siji shook his head, but then he stiffened. âActually, there is one way to know it.â He looked at me with serious gaze in his eye.
âSpeak.â I really hoped I could hear good news from him.
âBy following the thread of one of his family member. The closer the member to him, the clearer the thread is. It means, it will be a lot easier to follow. As long as one is still alive, the thread will not be broken.â
âI didnât know such thing exists.â I exclaimed. Finding a close family member of Tom was not a hard one. I could either choose his mother or Uncle Ben.
âBut...â Siji stopped talking hesitantly.
âWhat?â
âHow you do it, you need to learn it from Sir Sadewa.â Siji seemed restless.
âWho is this Sir Sadewa? And where do I find him?â Seeing his expression, the problem must lay in the way I could find him.
âHe is an elder, well-known in our dimension. You canât find him. He will appear in front of you if he wants it. Thereâs no way to find him either way.â Siji smiled apologetically.
I sighed. Of course, there was no easy way to it. âIâll think of a way. Thanks, Siji.â
âMy pleasure, Milady.â With that, he disappeared.
I crawled back under my blanket and laid down silently. As I glanced at the clock on the grey wall, I saw it had passed two oâclock in the morning.
I sighed softly. Too many had happened in this past months. I needed to set my mind straight before I was consumed by this weird power in me.
Finally closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and breathed slowly. My body started to feel the flow of energy around my body. With the white-clothed army standing on guard, the energy around me filled with positive vibes, creating a cool and soothing sensation in me.
I felt safe.
With that feeling inside, I finally fell asleep again.
ââââ
I heard noises.
There were many people talking at one go. Were they debating?
I opened my eyes slowly. The blur image slowly became clearer.
A frown formed in my face as I realized the odd around me.
Could someone, please, tell me where I am now?
