GrumpyÃsunshine
Mr. Perfectà Mr. Troublemaker
______________________________________
Ishan Kishan was a menace.
Not in the criminal sense, but in the "I will give you a headache before breakfast" sense.
He was sunshine wrapped in pure chaos, with a touch of sass that could leave people questioning their life choices.
And Shubman Gill?
He was stoic, cold, and dangerously elegant.
A man who spoke only when necessary and carried himself with the kind of gentlemanly grace that made people respect him.
Which is exactly why he was cursed with the job of being Ishan's bodyguard.
Ishan : Shubman, mujhe ice cream chahiye.
Ishan stood in front of his bodyguard, arms crossed, looking up at him with his big, pleading eyes.
His fluffy hair was slightly messy, and he was wearing a bright yellow hoodie that made him look even more like a human sunshine.
Shubman, dressed in his usual black suit, looked down at him with the same blank expression he always had.
"No."
Ishan gasped dramatically, clutching his chest like Shubman had just stabbed him.
Ishan : How dare you? You monster! What kind of bodyguard denies his innocent, adorable client ice cream?
Shubman : The kind who knows that you've already had two today and that you'll get a sore throat and complain all night. And then, I will have to deal with it.
Ishan pouted, stepping even closer, now almost leaning against Shubman's chest.
Ishan : Acha? And what if I run away? Kya karoge?
Shubman : I'll find you in five minutes. Three, if you're wearing that ridiculous hoodie.
Ishan : Are you grumpy 24/7?
Shubman : Are you annoying 24/7?
Ishan huffed, poking his chest.
Ishan : Tch. You're no fun. Kitna boring aadmi ho tum, Shub.
Shubman's jaw twitched at the nickname.
Shubman : Mr. Gill for you.
Ishan : Oho, Mr. Gill, so formal. But tell me something... do you ever smile? Ya bachapan mein koi aake chhura ghusa gaya tha dil mein?
Shubman : Mujhe kaam karne doge ya nahi?
Ishan : Not until you buy me ice cream.
Shubman looked down at the mischievous brat clinging to his sleeve and sighed.
Shubman : Fine. One scoop. And then, no more drama.
Ishan :YES! I love you, Mr. Gill!
Shubman : I'll pretend I didn't hear that.
Later that evening, Shubman followed Ishan into a high-profile event.
As usual, Ishan was buzzing with excitement while Shubman remained a silent figure behind him.
Ishan grabbed a glass of juice from the waiter and turned to Shubman.
Ishan : You know, tumhe bhi enjoy karna chahiye. Har waqt robot ki tarah mat khade raho.
Shubman glanced around, scanning the crowd for potential threats.
Shubman : I'm working.
Ishan : Haan haan, 'I'm working,' 'I'm serious,' 'I'm boring' tumhare dialogues change kab honge?
Shubman : When you start behaving.
Ishan : Toh phir kabhi nahi.
Shubman resisted the urge to sigh.
Instead, he stepped forward, adjusting the lapel of Ishan's suit.
Shubman : You forgot to fix your collar.
Ishan : Oh? Look at you, Mr. Gill, fixing my clothes like a true gentleman.
Shubman : Someone has to.
('has' hota hai ya 'have' hota hai-)
Ishan : Tum itne serious kyun ho, haan? Life thodi chill bhi hoti hai, Mr. Bodyguard.
Shubman simply placed a firm hand on Ishan's back, guiding him toward their table.
Shubman : Let's go.
Ishan sighed dramatically.
"Bas. Aaj raat ka mission - Shubman ko ek baar hasaana."
Shubman was used to dealing with trouble.
But nothing NOTHING in his training had prepared him for Ishan Kishan.
At 3 AM, his phone buzzed. Shubman groaned, reaching for it with a sinking feeling.
Ishan: Shubh, are you awake?
Shubman: No.
Ishan: Well, now that you are, I need your help.
Shubman sat up, rubbing his temples
He already knew he was going to regret asking, but he typed anyway.
Shubman: What did you do?
Ishan: Why do you assume I did something?
Shubman: Because you exist.
Ishan: Rude. But also fair. Anyway, I may have... sort of... locked myself out of my apartment.
Shubman stared at the message, then sighed. Of course he did.
Shubman: How?
Ishan: By existing.
Shubman didn't even bother replying.
He just grabbed his coat and headed out.
When Shubman arrived, Ishan was sitting on the floor outside his apartment, wearing his bright yellow hoodie and pajama shorts, looking like a kicked puppy.
Shubman folded his arms.
Shubman : How?
Ishan : Matlab how? I stepped out to take a call, and the stupid door locked behind me.
Shubman : And you didn't take your phone?
Ishan : Of course I did. How else would I text you? Dimag lagao thoda, Mr. Gill.
Shubman : And your spare key?
Ishan gave him a sheepish smile.
Ishan : Inside.
Shubman closed his eyes for a moment, probably reconsidering all his life choices.
Then, without a word, he pulled out a set of lock-picking tools from his coat.
Ishan : Wait, wait, wait are you telling me you know how to pick locks?!
Shubman didn't answer, kneeling down and getting to work.
Within seconds, the lock clicked open.
Ishan : OH MY GOD, Mr. Perfect is secretly a criminal!
Shubman : It's called being prepared.
Ishan : Or, as I like to call it, 'main hoon na bodyguard edition'
Shubman : go inside ishan or you'll catch cold.
Ishan grinned, stepping into his apartment. Then, before shutting the door, he peeked out.
Ishan : By the way, Mr. Gill..."
Shubman raised a brow.
Ishan winked.
"Nice hands."
And then he slammed the door in Shubman's face.
The next morning, Ishan woke up feeling particularly mischievous.
He had exactly one goal for the day < break Shubman's cold, unshakable demeanor.
Step 1: Annoy him at breakfast.
-
Shubman was sitting at the dining table, reading the newspaper, looking as put-together as ever.
Ishan plopped down across from him.
Ishan : Shubh, mujhe lagta hai mujhe pyaar ho gaya.
Shubman : ohh
Ishan : Haan. Ekdum intense waala. Jaan de bhi sakta hoon, jaan le bhi sakta hoon
Shubman : What a tragedy. Hope it works out.
Ishan : Arre, reaction toh do! Pyaar mein jaan de raha hoon!
Shubman took a sip of coffee.
Shubman : I'd prefer if you didn't. It's inconvenient.
Ishan : Uff, tumse toh baat karna bekar hai. Tum insaan ho bhi ya AI ho jo sirf logical answers deta hai?
Shubman : I'll let you know after my software update
Ishan : This is why I need therapy.
Shubman went back to his paper.
Shubman : This is why I need therapy.
(Step 1: Failure)
Step 2: Fluster him.
_
Ishan waited until they were in the car.
Shubman was driving, looking effortlessly cool in his black shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
Time to strike.
Ishan : Uff, Mr. Gill, tum itne formal kyun ho? Kabhi casually chill karna seekho na.
Shubman : I'm fine.
Ishan : Tumhari sleeves rolled-up look kaafi dangerous hai, you know.
Shubman : Keep your comments to yourself.
Ishan : Oh? Toh phir tum itne serious kyun ho
Shubman : Because I'm working.
Ishan : Kya baat hai, Mr. Gill. Tumne same line sirf do baar boli aaj. Progress.
Shubman sighed, clearly regretting every life decision that had led him here.
(Step 2: Slight progress.)
Step 3: Surprise hug attack.
_
That night, as they were walking back from a meeting, Ishan suddenly turned and WITHOUT warning wrapped his arms around Shubman's waist.
Shubman : wha-
Ishan : You work so hard, Mr. Gill. Consider this a free stress-relief session.
For the first time ever, Shubman was actually speechless. His arms remained awkwardly by his sides, unsure of what to do.
After a few seconds, he exhaled and... very hesitantly he patted Ishan's head.
Shubman : Fine. You have ten seconds.
Ishan : Bas itna hi? Tum toh bade kanjoos nikle, Mr. Gill.
Shubman : Mr. Troublemaker.
Ishan : Mr. Perfect.
(Step 3: Success.)
