"Bruce..." Malik whispered, he waited a few seconds for the man to respond, which he didn't, "bruce?"

He shook the sleeping mans arm

Bruce groaned, "Malik? It's..." he looked over to his alarm clock which read 4:09 am "it's 4 in the morning. What's wrong?"

"Err...I might've...accidentally...uh"

"You wet your bed?" Bruce asked softly

"Yeah.." Malik replied

The tall, slim man took his glasses from his bedside table and put them on, before getting out of bed.

"Alright, take those wet pyjamas off and hop in the shower whilst I sort the bed out." He told the boy

"Okay.."

Bruce stripped the bed and put clean sheets on before taking the soaked bed sheets to the washing machine. He then grabbed clean boxers, pyjama shorts and a t shirt and took them into the bathroom, leaving them on the side for Malik to change into once he was out the shower. He took the wet pyjamas off the floor and added them into the washing machine.

He knew he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep now, besides it was nearly daylight outside, so he decided to make himself a coffee before sitting at the kitchen table with his laptop and starting work early.

Malik got out of the shower and dressed himself, he also decided not to go back to sleep. Partly because he wasn't tired anymore due to being woken up in the shower and partly because he didn't want to wet the bed again.

"Morning" Malik said as he walked into the kitchen.

"Morning" The man replied, not looking up from his laptop.

Malik watched as he sipped his coffee.

"Are you mad at me?" He asked

"What?" Bruce looked up confused

"For wetting the bed...again" the boy said

"Noo no no no, of course not Malik, you can't help it"

Malik fidgeted in embarrassment.

"Hey, you know I'd never be mad over something that was accidental." Bruce told him.

"Yeah...but it must be annoying"

"Not really, it's like having my own little baby to look after" the man teased

"I'm NOT a baby." Malik frowned

"Totally not a baby. Even though you did have an accident on yourself in my car like one..." Bruce mumbled.

"YOU SAID YOURSELF THAT WASN'T MY FAULT! IT WAS YOURS."

"Well maybe if you didn't drink so much coke you wouldn't have had to go so bad" Bruce replied

"Well maybe if you let me go in the coke bottle i wouldn't have been forced to go all over myself and the seat!" Malik argued

"You wasn't forced." The man said

"Was too. You wouldn't stop for me"

"Because there was nowhere to stop! And that's not my fault" Bruce defended himself

"You could've let me go behind a tree" the boy rolled his eyes

"That's illegal. Plus, I thought you'd be able to wait till we got home, I thought you weren't a baby?"

"I'm not! But I was really desperate, I told you I couldn't wait"

"So therefore it's your fault. You drank too much and couldn't keep it. Now you know your limit for next time" Bruce laughed

"What do you mean limit?" Malik questioned

"Now you know not to drink so much, especially before we get in the car. Looks like you do need me to remind you to go use the toilet after all"

"Do not" the boy argued

"Do too" Bruce argued back, sticking his tongue out at him

Malik rolled his eyes, "whatever"

"Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!" The man teased

"No, you're just annoying"

"You wanna talk about annoying? Try having to wash and dry someone else's urine saturated bed sheets every morning" bruce chuckled

His smile quickly faded as he looked over at the boy who'd become unusually quiet, after he'd expected him to scream and shout in defence of himself. His cheeks where burning red and his eyes where filled with water.

"Boy, I was joking, I didn't mean it really"

"You still said it" Malik replied quietly

"I know, I shouldn't have, I'm sorry"

The boy didn't reply, Bruce watched as he ran back upstairs. He got up to go after him, but decided it was a better idea to leave him to calm down for a while.

Upstairs, Malik had had enough. He was sick of waking up to a wet bed some days - but not others, and with no explanation. He had the exact same routine every evening; dinner was at around 6pm, with a glass of water, then he'd chill and do whatever for a few hours before he started getting ready for bed at around 10pm, he'd go use the toilet, brush his teeth and then wash his face, and then go to sleep. So what was he doing that was causing him to wake up dry some days and wet other days?

As much as he wanted it all to stop, he was determined he would not be going anywhere near a doctor or a hospital anytime soon, he hated them, especially after he'd only just gotten out of hospital too. He decided he'd fix this himself.
