Madi decided it would be best for her to leave after the conflict between her and Malik has spiraled out of control.
Malik's problems with wetting the bed disappeared after a few months of him staying with Bruce,
However, he now had a new problem..
"Get up! You're going to be late!" Bruce opened the curtains, allowing the September sun to shine brightly into Malik's room- and eyes.
"I'm up, I'm up." Malik squinted whilst using his hand to block the sun out of his eyes.
"Aren't you excited? First day of college!"
Bruce was being way too loud for a Monday morning.
"What's there to be excited about? It's  just school all over again." The boy sank back into his bed.
"Oh boy, college is NOTHING like school, just wait till you get there." Bruce chuckled.
"I actually don't feel too well..." Malik lied, not wanting to go in.
"Nope! I'm not falling for this, you're just scared."
"I'm not flipping scared, why on earth would I be scared?" Malik sat up.
"Well what else could make you not want to go...are you going to miss me too much?" The man teased.
The boy rolled his eyes, "you wish mate."
Bruce laughed, "come on, you've got half an hour to get ready."
"Alright alright." Malik got out of bed and started getting ready.
Bruce waited patiently at the bottom of the stairs, "Malik! Are you nearly ready? You don't wanna be late on your first day!"
"I'm not gonna be late...if you're a good enough driver." Malik replied, shoving his stuff into his bag as he came down the stairs.
"I'll have you know I'm an excellent driver." Bruce frowned, lightly pushing the boy out the door.
Bruce pulled up outside Malik's college,
"Right, have you got everything?"
"Yesss" the boy rolled his eyes, "see you later."
"Wait! Do you have your injection?" Malik was type 1 diabetic, meaning he had to inject himself with insulin.
"Yeah it's in my bag, can I go now?"
"Alright, please call me if you need anything, I'll pick you up at 3 okay?"
"Okay, see ya" Malik shut the car door and waited for Bruce to drive away.
He didn't.
So he made his way into college, and up to the reception desk were he received his timetable.
Malik's day moved quite quickly, and everything was working out in his favor, he was in the same lessons and registration rooms as his friends and they all had the same free periods meaning he wasn't gonna be walking around alone at all.
Last period came around and the bell rang at 3 o'clock meaning he got through his first day at college. He remembered Bruce was picking him up but wanted to use the toilet before leaving, so he packed his stuff back into his bag and left his classroom, hoping they wouldn't be too difficult to locate.
He felt his phone buzz a few times as he was walking so took it out of his pocket, it was just his mates group chat going off. Malik continued to scroll through the messages as he walked through the corridor until his phone flew out of his hand-
"Sorry!" A voice squealed
Malik was still looking at his empty hand, where his phone used to be, but he recognised that voice from somewhere and looked in front of him.
"Since when did you go here?!" Malik frowned
"Er, since a year ago, when I finished school?" Madi laughed "you don't look very happy to see me."
"Whatever, where are the toilets?"
"Go straight ahead and then left to the stairs, go up two floors and then right."
"Thanks, Bruce is picking me up if you want a lift, he should be parked somewhere by the big tree."
"Okay, see you in the car then."
Malik followed the directions Madi had given him, but soon realised she had lied when he ended up walking into an after school meditation class. He was too embarrassed to bother asking anybody else so made his way down to the car.
"What took you so long?" Bruce asked as the boy got into the car.
"I asked her where the toilets was and she gave me directions to a bloody meditation class!" Malik turned to look at Madi, who's grin was ear to ear.
Bruce began belly laughing.
"It's really not that funny..." the boy mumbled.
"Maybe not for you, but that's just because you're embarrassed that you had a class full of girls staring at you." Madi giggled.
"I'm not embarrassed, I'm just annoyed that you wasted my time." Malik rolled his eyes.
"Did you find the toilets in the end?" Bruce asked, still laughing.
"No."
"How do you not know where they are? You've been in the building all day, did you not bother to explore?" Madi asked.
"Well no." The boy replied.
"Have you not been to the toilet all day?" Bruce asked.
"No, I haven't, are we done with the questions?"
"Malik, it's not healthy to hold it in all day." The man told him.
"I wasn't holding it all day I just didn't need it until after lunch. Why are we even still talking about this can we just go?" Malik replied.
Bruce started the car, "wait, do you still need the toilet?"
"Yes!"
"Oh, I didn't realise, sorry. I need to stop for some shopping first though, can you wait?"
"Oh my god, obviously I can wait." Malik felt his face getting warm.
Bruce parked up in the car park and turned the car off, "are you coming Malik or do you want to wait here?"
"I'll wait here."
"Alright, Madi?"
"I'll wait too." She replied.
"Okay, I won't be too long." Bruce got out the car and shut the door behind him before walking over to the shop.
Madi was sat in the back of the car and watched as bruce disappeared, she then put her arms around Maliks seat and poked both his sides.
"Get off." Malik grabbed one of her hands.
"Are you ticklish?!!" Madi grinned.
"No!" The boy replied sternly.
Madi brushed her fingers up and down his sides, moving up to his neck whenever he tried to catch her hands.
"Madi! Stop!" Malik begged whilst laughing.
"I thought you wasn't ticklish?"
"I'm not." The boy replied.
"Then what's the matter? Are you going to wee yourself?!" Madi teased.
"No, but I do really need a wee and that's not helping so stop."
Madi continued to tickle him, Malik tried his best to escape her hands but there was not much room in the car.
"Madi please, i can't-" Malik tried his best to get his words out in between his laughter.
"Can't what? Hold it?"
"Are you trying to make me wet myself?" The boy grabbed her wrists and held her arms away from him.
"No, it was just a joke, sorry.." Madi sat back in her seat.
"It's fine, just, no more now." Malik squirmed in his seat.
"I won't make fun of you by the way, if you do have an accident."
"I'm not going to, I don't know why you and Bruce treat me like a baby, I can wait it's just a bit uncomfortable."
"Bruce told me you have bladder problems." Madi shrugged.
"I don't, he just puts me in awkward situations where I can't get to a toilet. And so do you." Malik replied.
"How do I?" Madi asked.
"Well I wouldn't be bursting for the toilet right now if you told me where the toilets actually was, instead of making me walk into a meditation class."
"I didn't realise you needed to go so bad."
"I didn't then." Malik told her.
"But you do now? And that was only like 20 minutes ago so clearly Bruce was right, you do have bladder problems." Madi said.
"No that's just because you were making me laugh so now I need to go a lot more." Malik crossed his legs, "can we talk about something else?.."
"Sure, what do you wanna talk about?"
"Literally anything else, you decide." Malik said.
"Hmm.." Madi smiled to herself. "Do you still fancy me?"
Maliks eyes went wide, "oh er- I erm...oh here's Bruce!"
Madi rolled her eyes, of course he comes back now.
Bruce could feel some sort of tension as soon as he got in the driver seat. "What's wrong?"
"Maliks about to wet himself." Madi said.
"No I'm not! But I do really need a wee so please drive." Malik replied.
Bruce drove and after around 20 minutes they had arrived home, he parked in the drive and Malik quickly dashed out of the car and up to the front door.
"Do you not have your key?" Bruce asked.
"No, please open." Malik bounced from one foot to the other, getting more desperate thinking about how close the loo was.
Bruce unlocked the door and Malik barged through and shot up the stairs.
The man laughed, "how does he barely manage to make it every time?"
