Just as Alice was about to cut off the surveillance, she heard from Patrick, "Mary, you have really lost all sense of self. Why is it that the Alice can become stronger and stronger, yet you become weaker and weaker?"
"I just love you, Patrick. I don't want to be separated from you." Mary said while crying.
"I love Alice." Patrick said without thinking, "The times I miss are when we were children, you are not included there."
Alice sat on the side of the bed, her eyes dim.
Mary's weak voice floated into her ears, "I got it, don't worry, I won't be jealous anymore. If you don't let me touch elder sister, I won't harm her again. It's the same as before. I'll do whatever you tell me to do, okay? As long as I am by your side."
Alice could not listen any longer and turned off the computer. She reached out to grab a cup of coffee and put it back when she thought about it, feeling extremely disgusted.
She stood up and left the room, opening Beverly's room, "Mother, are you done cleaning up?"
When she went in, she saw Beverly standing by the bed. On the bed, there was a box, and in the box was a white wedding dress. Beverly's hands were touching it, her face was filled with regret, and her eyes were shining.
Seeing her enter, Beverly turned around and secretly wiped away her tears. Then, she smiled as she looked at Alice, "When I was cleaning up, I noticed the wedding dress that your father and I were wearing when we married. I'll clean up right away."
"The wedding dress is very beautiful." Alice smiled and said, "Then you clean up, I'll go check on the private aircraft."
The plane must be inspected before it can fly.
Alice turned to leave, but Beverly called out to her, "Alice."
"Hmm?"
Alice turned her head.
"Your hair looks a bit dirty. Let me wash it for you." Beverly said as she walked over and reached out to caress her long hair.
"Is that so?" Alice scratched her head, "I'll go wash first." "Let me wash it for you. I've never washed it for you before."
Beverly said.
Wash her hair personally?
Alice looked at Beverly with suspicion, then nodded.
Under the big tree in front of the main house, the sunlight fell through the leaves and onto the ground.
Alice laid on the hair-washing chair, Beverly who changed into a fresh set of clothes walked out and pushed her long hair back.
Alice raised her head and just happened to see that Beverly was wearing a slightly yellow female's shirt. It was a very young style, and it made Beverly's face look a little youthful.
"Why is Mother wearing a shirt?"
Alice asked.
"I just saw it. This is the first time I saw your father; did it look good?" Beverly bent her body to look at her, her eyes filled with love, as she placed her long hair into the warm water.
"Pretty." Alice said, "Did you enchant my father with it?"
"At that time, the dog at home bit my book into the dog house, so I crawled into the dog house to take out the book. My face was covered with dirt and dust, and when I looked up, I saw an unfamiliar young man standing there. He was looking at me with a strange expression, as if he was looking at a monster."
Her voice was full of memories.
Alice laid there enjoying Beverly washing hair for her, she could imagine how romantic that scene would be, "Is that father?"
"Yes." Beverly had applied the shampoo on her hair that was as black as satin, "It was only later that I found out that he was the person my father had chosen as my marriage partner, and he had many choices at the time. When we were getting married, I asked him why he had chosen me. After all, my actions were not worthy of being called a lady."
"What did he say?"
The sunlight shone onto Alice's face. It was warm as she quietly listened to her parents' love.
"He said that a woman who dared to climb into a dog house would be brave enough to be worthy of him." Beverly recalled what happened back then and laughed, "I had told him that he guessed wrong, I'm not brave enough." Alice laid on her back, staring at Beverly.
Her father had been born with such a background, so he naturally needed a brave woman.
"And then he said, Oh." Beverly's smile deepened, "He's such a man who doesn't talk much. Even now, I still don't know what that 'oh' means.
"No matter what you look like, we can match."
Alice said.
Hearing this, Beverly was startled, lowering her eyes to look at Alice, slightly surprised.
"Mother, do you believe that father thought so?" Alice said.
How could it be resignation or disappointment?
She could tell how much her father loved her mother.
"'"' Beverly stared at her in a daze with a bubble all over her hands. Then she smiled and said, "It should be."
Beverly was obviously very happy.
Seeing her smile, Alice felt a little better. Beverly continued to wash her hair, "Now that I think about it, if you hadn't been sold, how much happiness our family would have received, in the end we were fated for such a short time.' "It doesn't matter, as long as we are still together, fate will lengthen."
Alice said.
"Alice, you are such a good girl. Your father said that you were actually very smart. You could tell that we only saw you as a substitute for York Brown in the beginning, but you didn't complain at all." Beverly said, "Even if you are sick, you will still greet us every day and let us find traces of York Brown on your face."
Alice listened quietly.
"Your and York Brown's personalities are completely different. I gradually discovered it." Beverly held her long hair and said lovingly, "Our Alice is a good girl that makes people love. She should be able to get a very good one." "Mother, you are trying to brag about yourself." Alice said with a smile.
In her memories, this was the first time she had chatted with Beverly for so long.
"Alice, even if mother took you as a shadow of York Brown at the beginning, I would no longer be there later on." Beverly lowered her eyes and stared at her, "Mother loves you because you're my daughter. Mother wants to give you all the best."
Sensory mother.
Alice lied there, her face turned upside down in her line of sight, thus she saw a smiling face.
"You're the best, I'll take you."
Alice said.
Beverly stared at her deeply, and without saying a word, she continued to wash her hair.
Afterwards, Beverly chatted a lot with Alice, talking about her past with Xavier Brown, her childhood affairs, piece by piece.
Alice closed her eyes, feeling those slender fingers pass through her long hair, gently massaging her scalp.
"When I could wash my own hair by myself, my foster mother didn't wash it for me anymore. At that time, I was really envious of Mary, her foster mother was still washing her hair even when she was eighteen years old." Alice closed her eyes and said, "At that time, I had a jealousy in my heart. She had grown up and why did she still need someone to wash her hair for her? But now I realize that the feeling of having my mother help wash my hair really feels good."
The hand in her hair stopped rubbing, only for a second, then pressed again.
After washing her hair, Beverly said that she was tired. She went back to lie down for a while, and when the private aircraft was ready to take flight, she would call for her.
Alice sat under the tree alone and used a towel to wipe her hair.
She didn't know why, but when Beverly just washed her hair, she felt much more relaxed. No matter how many things happen, if someone truly stayed by her side, she would be filled with vitality.
For her mother, for William, for the twins, she would pull herself together and carry all the burdens herself.
"You seem to be in a good mood today?"
Patrick walked over from afar and squatted in front of her. He raised his eyes and stared at her gently.
"Hmm, not bad."
Alice said lightly.
"Is it because you are leaving this place and leaving me that you are so happy?" Patrick asked somewhat bitterly.
"No." Alice shook her head, "I'm going to look for William." "If William doesn't return for a day, are you going to look for him for a day?"
Patrick asked.
Alice nodded, and said as a matter of fact, "Mn, I will continue to look for him, no matter where he goes."
"Is that so?" The light in Patrick's eyes dimmed, and he reached out to grab her towel. "I'll help you wipe it."
"No need."
Alice shook her head, she then stood up and shook her head, and said, "I think it's about time, I will go call my mother down and get her to board the plane."
She turned to leave, only to see two maids walking out of the main house, holding onto dustbins. They walked past them, and one of them stumbled and fell forward. Patrick and Alice supported her at the same time.
"I'm sorry, Master, Miss, I did not do it on purpose." The maid apologized and bent down to pick up the rubbish.
When the maid picked up the bottle, Alice heard a sound coming from inside.
When the maid finished packing up and was about to leave, Alice became suspicious and called out to her, "Wait."
"Yes, Miss."
The maid turned to look at her.
Alice walked over and extended her hand into the dustbin's body. He grabbed her arm and looked at her in puzzlement, "What are you doing?"
"Let me see."
Alice pushed his hand away, took out the medicine bottle from the dustbin, opened it, and poured it over her hand.
A handful of pills.
Alice opened her eyes wide in shock.
Patrick was also stunned, he snatched the bottle away from her hands and looked at the label on it, "Isn't this an antidepressant? "You guys were too careless. How did you throw away Madam's medicine?"
"We didn't throw it. it was there when I went to get the dustbin."
The maid bowed her head in apology.
Wasn't it carelessly thrown by the maid?
Alice suddenly thought of how every time she went to tell her mother to take medicine these past few days, her mother would always say while drinking water that she had already eaten it.
She lowered her head and counted the pills, the whole bottle. Mother hasn't even taken a single antidepressant? How her mother, with her deep affection for her father, had managed to smile so quickly and to comfort her and talk to her in return.
