Alice smiled bitterly, "Do I look like I have no future like this?"
She had been careful when he was ill; now that he was well, she was still careful.
"It's not that serious. It's just that you put your self-esteem too far away. This will affect your charisma as a woman." William said in a low voice.
Put your self-esteem too far away.
His mouth was so venomous that it hit the nail on the head.
Alice looked at him, and drank a mouthful of milk and said, "You also know women now?"
"What are you hinting at?" William raised his eyebrows, and looked at her with his sharp eyes, "Relax, you're the only woman I have, and the only person I, William, want to live my entire life with."
"I didn't mean that."
Alice frowned, she just continued with that sentence, she really didn't think about it too much.
William's thoughts now were more complicated than before. Did his EQ become higher as well?
"I'm going to the office. Are you coming with me? " William stood up from the dining table.
"Sure."
She was going to the gallery, too.
Alice nodded, she put down her cutlery and stood up, the food on the table had almost not been touched.
This was a scene that she had never seen before.
"My schedule for New Year's Eve is also full. I won't be able to accompany you during the day, so wait till night. At night, I'll celebrate the New Year with all of you." William said as he walked out.
"Alright, we'll wait for you."
Alice said, other than saying this, she did not know what else to say.
"When the new year is over, close the gallery. Painters should keep it a bit mysterious." William's tone was full of formality, as if he was instructing his secretary about something.
"Close after the new year? Why so fast, I like the gallery."
"Isn't it better to stay home and be a young mistress?" "Can we wait a bit longer?"
"When N.E. gets on the right track and our wedding will be on track, I don't have much time to prepare for it, so you might want to keep an eye on it. You'll have time if you close the gallery." William spoke even faster than before.
Alice followed behind him in silence.
His illness was cured, but his desire to control her was much stronger.
William turned around and shot a glance at her, pushed her against the wall, and pinched her chin, "What, you don't want to marry me? You don't want to have a home with me?"
He was extremely close to her, and his black eyes stared into hers, giving her the illusion that they were on fire.
Alice met his gaze, "Yes."
Why not?
How many years had she been waiting for him?
"Then close the gallery." William lowered his head, covered her lips, and gently kissed her. "After we get married, you will take care of the twins."
Hearing that, Alice's eyes lit up, "Would Cullen Family be willing?"
"You have been waiting for me for four years. Wait until the whole world knows that, if they still don't let me marry you, my reputation will plummet." William stuck to her lips and said, "They won't stop us from getting married now, and as long as I'm willing to inherit the Cullen Family, they have no reason not to let us take the twins back."
"Reputation?"
These words sounded strange.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Alice pushed his chest away, "Let's go, to work, I'll help you tie your tie."
"No need, it's not like I don't know that you only know how to do simple ties like that. I have to receive more guests today, so I need to be more serious." William said casually, his tone was flat, with no intention of detesting her, he only stated the facts objectively.
He turned and took a tie and tied it around his neck.
William looked at the mirror beside the door, and did not notice the lonely look in Alice's eyes.
Alice tried really hard to get closer to William, but it seemed like William didn't need it.
He had plans for their future.
He clearly divided their roles. He was in charge of earning money for the family. She was in charge of taking care of the family and being a young lady who lived like a prince.
It was a natural thing to do. Just like every couple, just like many normal couples.
Very normal.
He was so normal that she couldn't find anything wrong with him.
As she and William interacted in such a manner, William became normal. Their relationship also became more normal.
In the blink of an eye, it was New Year's Eve. It was a sunny day.
Alice stood in the shop, wearing thick clothes as she removed the pictures on the wall and placed them into the package.
The gallery should be ready to close.
She needed to collect all of these paintings as well.
Holy sat on the floor in the center of the gallery. There was a small table in front of him, with a brush in his hand, he was copying the simple calligraphy with no expression on his face.
"My flowers are going to wither again."
Kathy knelt on the chair in front of the table and hugged the glass bottle, looking at the floating flowers with a depressed expression.
"Kathy, do you need me to teach you how to take care of the flowers?"
Mr Palace asked as it walked towards Kathy.
"Thank you, but I want to see Dad."
Kathy hugged the water jar and sighed.
If she didn't give it away, her flowers would be completely ruined.
Kathy pouted. Suddenly, she remembered something, and her eyes rolled around. Alice was busy hanging up paintings, and Holy was practicing his calligraphy. No one paid attention to her.
Kathy carried the small water jar up.
Mm, I can hold it.
Cautiously, she climbed down from the chair and, using all her strength, wrapped her arms around the small tank as she climbed down.
So tired.
Kathy gritted her teeth as she tried to tiptoe out of the gallery with great effort. Her mother didn't want her to disturb her father's work, so she decided to just take a look and give the flowers to him.
Just one glance.
Kathy walked out of the Gallery and bent her back like a small shrimp, but was stopped by the bodyguards outside, "Miss Kathy, where are you going?"
"Shh! Don't let anyone hear it!" Kathy held the water jar and said softly, "You send me to find Dad, otherwise I will tell Grandma to fire you."
"Miss Kathy."
The bodyguard's face was gloomy.
"Let's go, I'm so tired from holding it." Kathy opened her eyes wide, and looked at him with a sorrowful expression, "I'll give the flowers to Dad, and I'll come back."
"You'll be back as soon as you deliver it?"
The bodyguard hesitated.
"That's right, don't let Mom hear you. Go, go." Kathy said slyly as she carried the small water jar and went to the road.
Startled, the bodyguard quickly followed her.
The gallery was just opposite to N.E. at the other side of the road, everyone knew that the CEO's twins were there. When they saw Kathy coming in, the receptionist naturally let her in.
"Thank you, beautiful big sister."
Kathy said sweetly and carried the little jar into the room. She didn't even want the bodyguard to help her.
I'm going to see Dad.
Dad would love my flowers.
Alice stood in the gallery and packed up her painting. A painting was smashed down, one corner of it had caved in, and she immediately jumped off the chair to pick it up.
"Are you alright?"
A young, cold voice rang out.
Alice turned her head, Holy sat there and looked at her with the brush in his hand.
Care about her?
"I'm fine." Alice smiled, she then picked up the painting and looked at the table.
She realized that there was no longer a water jar on the table, "Holy, have you seen Kathy?"
Holy shook his head.
"Kathy?"
Alice immediately put down the painting and walked inside. There was nothing in the room, she immediately became anxious, she rushed out, and looked at the bodyguard on duty, "Have you seen Kathy?"
"Miss Kathy went to look for Young Master."
The bodyguard answered truthfully.
"What?"
Alice had told her before not to look for him when he was working, as it would disturb his work.
Alice ran out and Alice caught up with her, "I will go with you."
"Alright."
Alice pulled Holy's hand and ran over to the N.E. building. Naturally, the receptionist did not dare stop her.
Pressing the button, Alice and Holy walked into the elevator. Their eyes were filled with anxiety, hoping that they would be able to stop Kathy in time. William was now a workaholic, and hated it when people disturbed him the most.
Stepping out of the elevator, Alice walked towards William's office in a hurry. Before she even reached the office, she heard Kathy's crying voice.
It came from the conference room.
Alice and Holy walked over.
She only saw that the door to the meeting room was closed tightly. At the door, Kathy stood there crying especially hard, an enchanting and lovely figure stood in front of her, it was Mona who was wearing an exquisite and elegant long skirt. She held a bag in her hands and looked at Kathy with a helpless look in her eyes.
There was a broken glass tank on the floor between them, and the water was running all over the floor, full of broken glass, a few flowers on the floor, lifeless.
"Can you stop crying?"
Mona looked at Kathy with a headache.
Mona.
Alice's heart sank, and shouted: "Kathy."
"Mom!" Upon seeing Alice, Kathy immediately ran over to her while crying and grabbed her hands to complain, "She broke my flowers, all my flowers are broken, Daddy won't take them..."
"So boring."
Mona was gloomy.
"Why are you here?" Alice pulled Kathy close to her and coldly asked.
"Of course I'm here to see how William gets used to this society." Mona said, and glanced at Kathy, "This is your daughter? You have to teach her to walk more gracefully as a lady, instead of running around recklessly."
"As an adult, sometimes you need to know how to apologize."
Alice said coldly.
"My sister won't extort people." Holy stood out and raised his head to look coldly at Mona, "Please apologize, this is the most basic of courtesies."
Mona looked at Holy, stunned for a few seconds.
He really looked like William.
"She hit me on purpose. She's a bad person!" Kathy pointed at Mona and shouted, "Bad aunt, bad aunt..."
"An uneducated little fellow."
Mona snorted disdainfully.
Hearing this, Alice's eyes were filled with anger. A few secretaries who had rushed over after hearing the news gathered around, and looked at them with trembling hands.
