Alice leaned on a pillar, raised her eyes and looked at the man, "I made an appointment with a psychiatrist to get to know you."
She wanted the original him. She wanted to know if the normal William was just cold and heartless like this.
"Know me?" William sneered, "Did you do that? Not even half a month after I returned, you broke up with me and stole the Right of maintenance about the twins."
"That's because I saw..."
"It was you who suggested the treatment more than once. It was you who didn't want the old William. It was you who wanted me to appear!" William interrupted her words, coming closer to her, his voice cold and full of reproach, "Now, what qualifications do you have to make me change back? Alice, I am not your puppet." Alice stared into his eyes. His black eyes were so deep that she was confused about them.
"William, in your eyes, you are two people, right?" Alice asked in a low voice, her voice somewhat hoarse. "But do you know, my original intention wasn't for you to become a different person but to control you temper."
Anger hurts the body, doesn't it?
Had she made a mistake? She hoped that he would be fine.
"I'm holding back now."
William said.
"But you have restrained all your feelings. In the past, even if Kathy called out to you, you would still be very happy." But now, he had restrained himself completely inhuman.
"Alice, a person cannot want everything, do you understand?"
Alice became silent, and stared at him dejectedly. Was it because she wanted too much?
"The past and present me, you don't like. Are you the perfect one?" William mocked and sneered, then slowly retracted his hand.
Alice's body stiffened, and her head felt like it had been struck ruthlessly.
William retracted his hand, and turned, staring at the bridal chamber.
"The entire North Bay was created for you by the old William. You're used to this kind of love, you just want to keep on enjoying it, but you also dislike his excessive emotions." William said coldly, "You let me out of that situation, but you also dislike me not holding you in my palm like in the past."
"I never said I was dislike it."
"Alice, you're way too much."
William turned around to look at Alice, his black eyes overcast. "I do like you, but previously, it was due to the paranoid personality disorder that I held you in high regard. But now that everything has changed, I have returned to normal. Normal people's emotions are not as persistent as they thought."
Not knowing why, Alice felt as if a bucket of ice water was falling from the sky, sprinkling all over her body, causing her blood to freeze inch by inch.
The words were familiar to her.
A long time ago, Mona had also said something similar to her.
"Have you ever thought that if you continue to play like this, I will be disappointed in you?" William slowly walked in front of her, hands in his pockets, staring at her pale face coldly, "Not only will the old William not come back, even the current me will not want you anymore."
Alice's long eyelashes trembled slightly, and she was unable to say a single word.
"Alice, do you really want to see this situation? You gave birth to twins for me, and you waited for me for four years. You could be pretentious, and you could be captive, but in the end, you really ended up losing them. Don't you feel that it's a pity?" William asked.
"Do you think I'm being pretentious?"
Alice asked with a trembling voice.
Pretentious?
She actually felt that he was right that she might really want too much. Everyone was not perfect. She could only paint, so how could she ask him to be perfect.
"I'll give you one last chance to think it over." William looked at her and said coldly, "I plan to set Holographic Age's release next month, and I will hold a press conference on the 14th of next month. If you agree to it, we will announce the date of marriage on that day, and if you do not agree, we will be done with it." Was he threatening her?
"No rush to answer me. There's still half a month. Think slowly." William said indifferently, "The twins are still playing by the beach, let's go over."
With that, William turned and left without any intention of stopping.
Alice stood there and watched his back. She slowly squatted down and hugged her knees.
He had been seen through for the purpose of the lawsuit.
His reaction was really fast. He saw through her so easily, and he found a way to deal with her so quickly.
He knew that she was the one who can't get out of the relationship, so that he would not change it. He wanted her to make a choicethat she would accept him as he was, or lose him forever.
Heh.
No matter if it was the William of the past or the William now, they would always make her unable to breathe.
Half a month.
How could she choose?
Alice was confused. She did not understand what was right and what was wrong, nor did she understand how she and William would continue on their path.
Returning to the beach, Alice and William pretended as if nothing had happened. They were with the twins.
William still called several times in an hour. Alice taught Kathy and Holy how to paint.
"Mom, I don't know how to draw the sea." Kathy said.
"You can draw whatever you want. Painting has no rules. It's not a round a round." Alice squatted between the two children and said softly.
"Alright."
Kathy used a brush to draw on the Draw.
"Don't define the sea in your own mind."
A deep voice sounded.
Alice turned her eyes, only to see William walking over from the side, and half- squatting on the other side of Kathy, "sea is over there. Whether you like it or not, don't twist it with your brush. If you want to draw it, you have to accept what it looks like."
William said to Kathy, but he was looking straight at Alice.
Alice didn't understand that was she really wrong, but she had nothing to say.
"Hm."
Kathy looked at Alice, and then saw William.
The two of them squatted beside Kathy.
Kathy didn't know how to make her move, so she could only speak in a tender voice, "Can you two go and help me pick up the shell, please? The uncle said there were a lot of shells here."
"Alright, I'll go pick it up."
Alice stood up and walked forward as the steady sound of footsteps came from behind her.
William followed her.
The two of them stood on the beach and picked up the seashells. The entire North Bay was closed to the outside, and only people were left to clean it. There were still many seashells left by the sea.
Alice picked up the shell and placed it into a small basket at the side. William stood at the side and did not squat down to pick it up.
When she was tired, Alice sat down on the beach and pressed her hands on the soft sand.
The sea was calm. The color of the sea reflected the blue sky. Time passed peacefully.
When she was young, she was jealous of her adoptive parents who brought Mary to the beach and stepped on her footprints. At that night, William carried her on his back and walked for an entire night.
William seemed to be able to do anything for her. Of course, it was the old William.
He made it clear now that he would not change anything for her.
Alice quietly looked at the calm sea surface, her eyes reflecting the sea. William, maybe I was wrong, but I really missed you. I really missed you who carried me on your back and left footprints on the beach.
"Have you made up your mind?"
William sat down beside her and swept his black eyes across her.
"Didn't you say you'd give me half a month to think it over?" Alice looked at his handsome face, but couldn't find any traces of the past.
"Just asking." William brushed off the sand in his hands, turned and looked at the two children, and coldly said: "Carrying children is boring."
"It enhances parentage."
She had lost this process since she was young.
"This is called improvement? It just waste of time." William said in disdain, "I can ask a nanny, a maid, a bodyguard, and a teacher. Staying here is demeaning to me, but in court, I insist on having some sort of kinship."
"Because to most people, parenthood is very important. How can one develop feelings without being together?" Alice said, "Children all need the care from their parents."
"Is love so important? Is it not enough to give them a superior environment?'
William stared at her.
"It's important. It's very important." Alice said as she looked at him with a determined gaze.
William met her gaze, then he turned his face to the sea and skipped over the topic, "There's still half a month, think about it carefully."
"I need an answer from you before I can give you an answer." Alice looked at his handsome face and said.
"What answer?"
"How did you spend the past four years? Why didn't you contact me at all?" Alice asked, "I want to know the answer."
Hearing this, William's gaze darkened slightly, "All of these are already past, there's no need to investigate further."
"But I want to know."
"What's the point of being a patient? Take medicine, exercise, and stay away from the crowd." William said.
"Then why didn't you contact me?" Alice looked at him and asked, "I was just wondering, if I had accompanied you by your side to treat your illness, would you have developed to such a state?"
If she had been with him, perhaps his situation would have been much better.
But he never gave her any information.
Hearing this, William stared at her coldly, "I know you dislike my current appearance. You don't need to say it again and again, and even try to change me."
Alice didn't speak. Anything she said now would be viewed by him as an attempt to change him.
The sky suddenly darkened.
The sun was gone. The clouds were coming in from the distanc, and the sky to the east was dark.
