Chapter 776

My Lord, My Billionaire Master1,662 words~9 min read

- Misunderstanding Lambert once again "I knew you'd think I'd been shot. That's why I came back so fast." William hugged her and said arrogantly: "You're underestimating your man!"

Was he that easy to defeat?

"Yes, you are the strongest." Alice instantly relaxed. Only then did she discover that her legs had gone slightly weak.

"Did your legs go weak?"

William lowered his eyes and looked at her, and saw through her mind.

"..." Alice was extremely embarrassed, she stretched out her hand to rub her leg, and said, "Am I too weak?"

If she knew kung fu, she could fight alongside him, but she could only wait now. "How can I be strong if you are not weak?"

Alice nodded her head, but before she could say her approval, she heard William say, "Of course, no matter how strong you are, you are still weak in front of me!"

Well, that's it.

Alice did not bother with his arrogance, "I'll help you bandage your hand first."

"Let's go down. The matter hasn't been resolved yet." William lowered his eyes to look at the wound on the back of his hand, "This is only a small wound, don't care about it."

How could she not care?

Alice worriedly looked at his wound and then asked, "What happened exactly? Why is there a gunshot?"

"It should be an assassin sent by Lancaster. If Lancaster knows I'm here, why didn't they send someone to kill me immediately?"

William said.

Since the very beginning of the engagement, Lancaster already hated him to the bone because of his disgrace as well as the death of Mona and destruction of the Borg Island. If they knew he was here, they would immediately take his life.

"Lancaster?" Alice was shocked, "How did they know we were here?"

"We'll know when we get down."

William said, he extended his hand over to wrap around her shoulder and walked out. Once she reached the stairs, Alice stopped, and saw that it was stained with blood.

"It's the assassin's blood. He wanted to kill me, but I pressed the gun against his body." William glanced at the potted plant behind him. There lay an assassin who had been killed.

Time was tight, he could only drag the assassin to that corner so that Alice wouldn't see him.

"Mm, it's good that you're fine."

Alice nodded as she carried William's injured hand and walked down, avoiding the bloodstain.

When they went downstairs, Alice found that the entire Mansion was still extremely quiet and lifeless. There were traces of fights in the hall, but not a single servant cleaned it up.

"Alice, are you alright?"

David's concerned voice sounded.

"I'm fine." Alice replied as she looked forward, only to see David standing there in pajamas and a jacket, while Lambert was sitting on the sofa.

More accurately speaking, he was tied to the sofa, his hands were tied behind his back, and a rope was tied around his knees. He was dressed very neatly, his sleeves were torn off, and there were two bruises on his cold face.

"What's going on?"

Alice looked at David in confusion. "Why did you tie up Dr. Lambert?"

"Who else would leak out my whereabouts other than Doctor Lambert?" David stood there and looked at Lambert mockingly.

"How is that possible, Dr. Lambert wouldn't do that."

For some reason, Alice was willing to believe in Lambert. If Lambert was truly such a person, he could have done so from the very beginning.

Lambert sat there without saying a word.

David sat down on the sofa and said coldly, "He won't do that? Then what about the killer? What about the sudden disappearance of a bunch of servants and bodyguards? Doctor Lambert did not sleep at night and was dressed so neatly?"

Lambert remained silent.

"If William had not noticed it earlier, if I had taken you down first, you would probably have disappeared just like those servants and bodyguards." David mocked.

Lambert sat there in silence with a cold expression. The bruises on his face were dark green, and his injuries were somewhat severe.

The servants and bodyguards had all disappeared, but at one o'clock in the morning, Lambert was fully dressed and did not look like he should be resting at all.

But she could not believe that he would betray them.

What was going on?

Alice looked at Lambert as she asked, "Dr. Lambert, don't you want to explain?"

Lambert sat there without even raising his eyes as if he couldn't hear her question. He just sat there coldly without saying anything.

"What else can he say? There are still assassins outside. Who knows, maybe they'll break in the next moment to kill us." David sneered. He looked at Lambert's face and said, "Lambert, we are friends, yes, I admit that I've misunderstood you, and that my words are unpleasant to hear, but betraying me is enough! How my brother and Alice offended you?"

Hearing that, Lambert finally moved. He turned over with a cold face, ignoring David.

David clenched his teeth and stood there with a gloomy face.

William glanced at them but did not say anything. Alice sat down on the sofa and without thinking too much, she picked up a tissue to wipe the blood on the back of William's hand, then went to get the medicine.

Having lived in the Mansion for such a long time, she knew where the medicine kit was.

Alice carried the medicine kit over to treat the wound on the back of William's hand. The wound was very big and the flesh turned outwards, shocking her, "No, William, you have to sew up the wound."

"It doesn't matter, just give me the gauze and bandage it."

William said.

"We can't go out now. Lancaster definitely don't just send two killers in." David sat opposite of William and said, feeling a headache, "Luckily William discovered it early, otherwise, the killers would have all snuck in one after another, we would have died without making a sound."

The two killers who sneaked in first carried drugged, and before they could even knock them out, they were already subdued by William.

Hearing that, Alice frowned, "In other words, we are still in danger?"

She reached out to take the gauze and bandaged William's hands. William stretched his hands a bit and said, "I'm fine."

"You need to go to the hospital to treat it, or maybe..." Alice looked at Lambert again. Lambert was a doctor.

"You still dare to let him treat it?" David interrupted Alice's words as he turned his eyes to look at William, "William, can you take us and Lambert away from this predicament?"

Hearing this, a cold expression appeared on Lambert's face.

"Losing daughter and losing face, all these were much more important than Lambert."

William said coldly.

"Then how do we break through? The killers were messed up by us, I'm afraid they're thinking about how to get in again." David said, feeling a headache. David and William began to discuss ways to escape. Not far away, Mr Palace and Lambert's newly-bought robot were standing face to face.

Alice stored the remaining gauze into the medicine kit. When she raised her eyes, she saw that there was another wound on Lambert's neck.

She walked over to him and wiped the blood from his neck with a sterile towel. Lambert sat there. When he noticed her actions, he was startled.

"Hey!"

David and William shouted out at the same time. David was dissatisfied with her being so nice to someone who betrayed them, while William was dissatisfied with her treating other men's injuries.

"He's hurt." Alice said.

"There's no need for you to treat him! Come here!"

William reached out and pulled her to his side, staring at her hands in dissatisfaction, then gripped her hands tightly.

Alice sat beside William, and the two brothers began their discussion once again.

She quietly looked at Lambert, who had an indifferent expression and he did not resist.

She saw his bloodshot eyes.

"The people from the Cullen Family will be here at least two hours later. Let's go check the doors and windows to design some traps so that they won't force their way in." William stood up from the sofa and turned to face Mr Palace: "Mr Palace, protect Alice."

"Yes, Mr. William."

Mr palace bowed its head respectfully.

William and David spoke as they walked towards the windows. They did not have any weapons on hand right now, so there wasn't much that they could do. Alice sat on the sofa alone, looked at Lambert's cold and indifferent face, and asked softly. "Dr. Lambert, I don't believe it was you."

Hearing her voice, Lambert's eyelashes trembled. He stiffly turned his head to look at her. "Why do you believe me? Don't you think that David's reasoning is sufficient?"

His voice was filled with resentment.

It sounded reasonable.

Alice glanced at the direction William and the others were leaving in, then opened up the medicine kit and used a disinfectant towel to help Lambert clean his wounds, and said, "Dr. Lambert, although your temper is a little strange, you are a person who remembers favors. I believe that this kind of person will not go back on their word."

"Heh." Lambert sneered sarcastically. "Even you understand me. He kept saying that he didn't believe me even if we are friends."

When he was in the room, he heard the sound of the door being pushed open, but before he could react, David had already pressed the dagger against his neck, he remembered that cold sensation.

David came up and controlled him without saying anything further, then reprimanded him.

Hearing this, Alice couldn't help but let out a sigh, "Big bro was just too nervous this time. William is his most beloved little brother, so it's normal for him to be nervous, don't take it to heart."
