- Let him tell the truth "I'm pregnant."
Alice replied.
William's face turned black, and a single word came out from his throat as he stood there in a daze, "Damn!"
After leaving the diagnosis room, Lambert quickly walked toward David's ward.
"Bam!"
The door to the ward was slammed open.
David was currently leaning on the bed reading a book, and his hand was holding a needle to receive the infusion. Upon seeing Lambert come in, he didn't even have the time to pretend to be asleep. And he could only stare blankly at Lambert.
Why did he come back?
What did Lambert like to be tangled up in?
David's brows furrowed, and Lambert's breathing became a little heavy. He rushed towards with large strides, extended his hand and grabbed his hand.
"What are you doing?"
David frowned and asked. He retracted his arm, but the wounds on it made him unable to move. He could only watch as his sleeves was pulled up.
Lambert stood there and then saw the long strips of flesh on David's arm. During the surgery, he had only paid attention to the wounds and did not care about these old wounds.
It turned out to be a self-mutilation injury.
David looked at him with dissatisfaction. While enduring the pain, he withdrew his hand and asked coldly, "What are you doing?"
"Do you miss him that much?"
Lambert directly asked. His voice was hoarse not cold.
"What are you talking about?" David frowned and put down his sleeves.
"I know you're not here to save me, you're just a release your guilty feelings." His eyes looked at David's face which was covered in many places, and he could vaguely see his handsomeness, "I know that at the moment you charged towards me, disregarding everything else, I was only a substitute for York."
David leaned on the bed. Upon hearing this, his entire body froze as he sat there motionlessly. The blood red on his face disappearing bit by bit, even the color of his lips. "Who told you that?"
"You told me."
David's heart skipped a beat, he clenched his fist tightly. There were signs of blood flowing out of the tube.
After a long while, David finally said, "I told you, how could it be? How could I not remember?"
He knew it didn't matter.
He also knew that this was most likely something that had come out of his mouth, which wasn't surprising at all. After all, he remembered it too deeply.
"There are too many things you don't remember."
Lambert said.
David raised his eyes and looked at him. He clenched his teeth a little and Lambert lowered his gaze to look at his arm.
"What are you trying to say?"
Pausing for a moment, David asked.
"I only realized today that I don't know you at all." "Like this face of yours. I've never seen your true face. I don't know your personality either."
"What are you trying to say?"
David asked.
"Just now, I knew all the stories. Only now did I realize that you are that kind of person. You're accustomed to cowardice and escaping." Lambert said with a profound look in his eyes. "Then, I made a bold guess. That year, did you hear what I said in the turret?"
Hearing that, David's pupils suddenly shrank, and he turned his face away, "I don't understand what you're saying."
He didn't understand.
Alright, then let's get to the point.
Lambert stood there and stared at David's face with both eyes, and after a long period of silence. He said word by word, "David, I like you, what about you?"
This was his confession from all those years ago.
Back then, David had been sprawled on the table and he had sat right next to him, staring at him and confessing.
Now, he finally understood why David would say those drunken words for no reason at all.
David was drunk, but he was more clearheaded than anyone else.
David's face was deathly pale.
Seeing his expression, Lambert closed his eyes in near despair and laughed self- deprecatingly, "Looks like I guessed right. You really like to avoid people. If Alice did not make the thing clear between us, then you would be able to pretend to be stupid for your entire life, right?"
There was already a reproach in his words.
David clenched his teeth, straightened his body and looked towards the self- deprecating smirk on the corner of Lambert's mouth as he said, "So what if you knew?"
What did he want to know? What could he know?
"So what if I knew?" Both of his hands pressed onto the white blanket as he stared at David with urgency in his eyes. His face approached David from a close distance, "Alice said that I do not have the courage, and I think that I am as weak as you. However, I will not escape again and again like you, I know how to correct myself!"
He was so close that David could almost feel his breathing.
"What exactly did you say?"
David leaned back. His face was expressionless, and only his long eyelashes trembled.
"The first time you were drunk," I said, "it was my fault. Not this time. " Lambert stood there with his body bent forward, his eyes filled with determination. "David, I like you, what about you?"
David froze. He wanted to get down from the bed, but he couldn't move.
Lambert had no intention to retreat. He continued to move closer to David, his eyes staring deeply at him. David retreated backwards, while Lambert approached him once again.
There was only breathing in the ward.
David kept retreating, Lambert kept approaching him and his nose was almost touching him. David had nowhere to retreat to. The pillow was pushed down by him, looking at the peaceful face in front of him. David stretched out his hand and ruthlessly pushed him, "Lambert! What are you trying to do?"
"Are you angry?" "Then tell me the answer, and tell me the answer clearly!"
Hearing this, David's anger all rose up, and a low roar came out of his throat." Since you know that I have understood this since a long time ago, you should know my answer as well. My answer is always very clear!"
A few years ago, he didn't get any results. He thought he would get one in a few years?
"Tell me!" He wanted to hear it from David's own mouth.
"I do not love men! Stay away from me! A doctor like you wants to get close to me?"
David clenched his teeth and said with a tone filled with intense anger.
"You don't love men? What's about York?" Standing by his bed, he leaned over and shouted even louder than he did.
Rather than saying that this was the scene of a confession, it would be more accurate to say that it was the scene of a quarrel.
"He is York!" David roared, staring at him angrily, "Me and you are different!"
He said it hard. He was York.
He didn't love men, but he loved York.
The moment David finished speaking, Lambert's eyes stiffened as he stared fixedly at him. All of his anger abruptly faded and his face became even more terrifyingly pale.
The sun shone in and the light was so bright that both men's faces were drained of color.
David glared at him not satisfied with his approach.
For a long time.
Only after what seemed like a century had passed did Lambert slowly straighten his body. He stood there and touched the gauze covering his head. Suddenly, he let out a laugh. "See, isn't this good?"
David was stunned.
"Is it so hard for you to say the real feeling of your heart?" Lambert said with a smile. If you had said the truth back then. You and York would not have left so much regret.
David looked at him in shock. "You ..."
'Tm not bad. Back then, York did not force you to speak the truth. I forced it out today. Heh, heh." Lambert said with a smile as he stepped back.
David looked at him, his gaze turning dark.
The truth.
He just lacked the courage to speak the truth. Then, everything changed.
"It seems that we have all corrected our own faults today." "I can finally confess to you when you are awake, and you can speak clearly of what you are feeling at least."
He laughed as he spoke. His laughter growing more and more flamboyant. David felt a thorn in his throat, which causing him to feel pain.
Lambert reached out his hand to open the door, and no longer had the strength to maintain his line of sight on. "David, a person's life is very short. They don't even have the courage to open their mouth to express their feelings. They would be very tired of living. I'm not tired now, and I hope you can relax."
Seeing the smile on Lambert's face, a wave of guilt rose from David's chest. "Lambert, I just..."
"You are very honest. I thank you for your honesty." Lambert laughed and said, "I know that I have never been in your eyes before, and I also know that a person with my identity is not someone that can surpass the eldest son of Cullen Family." The young master of Cullen Family, a person from the clouds.
What did he count as? A person who had no parents and friends. He was not qualified to hold a cloud. Furthermore, this cloud had never stayed above his head before.
"I didn't mean that. I admit I was in a worse mood."
David said, he recalled what he had just said and frowned once again.
"David, I don't need to feel guilty. Really, rest well.
He backed out of the ward and closed the door behind him.
"Bam."
The door closed.
David closed his eyes as he felt a headache coming on.
Lambert walked out of the ward and walked forward step by step, as if he had lost his soul. A voice continuously resounded in his ears.
"Since you know that I have understood it for a long time, and you should also know my answer. My answer has always been very clear!"
"I do not love men! Stay away from me! A doctor like you wants to get close to me?
"He is York! My orientation is different from yours!"
Yes. Just with him alone, he had the right to confess, no? He still has the right to bear all the failures, right?
