Chapter 28 of 33

The world fading away

Poems Of Elegance90 words~1 min read

You stand before me,

Under the twilight sky,

Your gaze unmoving,

Staring into my soul.

A gentle breeze,

Just a whisper between us,

Your hand finds mine,

Entwining our fingers.

Your eyes sparkling,

Speaking a thousand words,

Silently,

Making promises.

Your lips uninvited,

Land on mine,

Our only witness,

The air about us,

The gentle breeze.

Time around us,

Coming to a stop,

Everything quietening,

The world fading away.

But then the moment ends,

Reality setting back in,

Knowing what tomorrow brings,

Knowing the promises made,

Will never be fulfilled.
