Dance with me||Human! Alastor X Reader3,704 words~19 min read

4 years later, 1912

I heard branches moving, leaves rustling. Hm, could he..

Ah! The trees, why didn't I think to look up?

"Alastor..I'm going to find you! You better have found a good tree to hide in~" I called out, I know that he heard me. If he was around, surely i was loud enough for him to hear me.

I walked and looked up into the trees. He wasn't there, hows that possible? Did I not look hard enough?

Something, or someone, grabbed my ankle. Hmph, I even fell and tripped. Who's responsible for doing that?

"Hey!-Alastor? I thought you were hiding in a tree? I heard twigs and leaves moving." I said, it turns out that the culprit for my fall was the little brunette, who I was playing hide and seek with.

"Nope, you guessed wrong~" He was taunting me. I hopped up and back onto my feet.

"I was in that bush." He said while pointing.

"Well..Game change! Tag you're it!" I said, I touched his shoulder as I ran away before he could fully realize what I had said.

"Hey that's no fair! I'm still gonna catch you though~" He said with a laugh as he chased after me.

We were playing in the forest that was behind our houses. He even had a small fort that he said that he built himself in there. It wasn't very large but we could both fit in there. The fort wasn't the best either but I mean, he's only twelve. How good could a wooden fort get? It was pretty good by my standards anyways. He only just showed me the fort a month or two ago.

"Yeah. You can try!" I yelled back at him.

Even with my head start though, he was still better at tag. And he was wayy better at running, he was much faster than me. I felt like a fool thinking that I could outrun him. It's not like i've ever been able to, not yet at least.

"Got you." He said as he tapped me.

"How are you so fast? You beat me every single time. And I even had a head start this time!" I said, I crossed my arms.

"Not too sure." He said with a smug grin.

(Alastors pov)

I spotted something, a flower to be exact. It was so pretty, it was even beautiful. It was f/c, Y/n's favorite color. It's odd though, it was a single flower. It was just sitting there all by itself. Of course there were other flowers nearby but none of them were the same color as this one. It was the odd one out of the bunch.

Its strange, but intriguing. I stepped away from her which made her a little confused. I plucked the flower and walked back over, holding it up and placing it gently in her hair.

"Awe, thank you." She said with blush on her cheeks.

That was a week ago, if only she knew what would happen to me, what would happen to my parents. Last night, I killed my mother and father. I didn't want to kill my mother, no, not at all. I regret doing it. If I could take back my actions, believe me, I would. I would take them back in a heartbeat, I know it's only been less than a day that she's been gone but I miss her, I miss her so, so much.

I want her here with me, i've never cried this much before. Well, last night I was crying my eyes out. Right now I just feel empty, I think I drained my eyes. I don't even think I can cry at the moment. But if I hadn't been so-if I just hadn't dropped the gun, she would still be here. She always did know how to make me feel better but now I have to pull myself together. So much happened just last night.

Last night:

"I cannot deal with you anymore!" My father yelled, he had broken many things in the house. He had broken several plates, cups, a vase, and even the radio.

"Darling! P-Please, just calm down. We can sort this out, please stop." My mother said as I stepped down the stairs.

"Mom?" I called, they both turned their attention towards me.

"It was for that brat, wasn't it?" He yelled at my mother, she didn't say anything. So in turn he walked over to me and grabbed my arm, pulling me further down the stairs. Even making me miss a few steps and almost fall.

"Do not hurt him again." She said, sternly.

'Again' Yes, he has been well, hurting me recently. Sometimes it would be something minor, like a beer can thrown at me, but other times he would hit me. Sometimes even leave bruises. Bruises that I would have to cover up in order to look presentable. A few years ago I feared the possibility that he might start hurting me too and sadly, my thoughts came true. After she said that though, he let go off me and walked back over to my mother, he grabbed her neck.

He was choking her. No, strangling her.

I ran back up the stairs. Instead of going into my bedroom-what he probably expected me to do, I ran into their shared bedroom. He kept a gun in the nightstand on his side of the bed, I took it and went back down the stairs. Her face was beginning to turn blue, she couldn't breathe. She tried to warn him, maybe if he wasn't hurting her and choking her he might have been able to avoid this.

I shot him in the head. He fell backwards towards where I was standing, it was clear to me that he was dead. You don't usually survive a shot to the head, not like I was expecting him to. But why was she crying, why was she crying over him? Maybe it was just because someone was now dead in front of her. If that wasn't the case, then I don't know why she would be crying over that man. Hm, perhaps they were happy tears?

I mean, he did deserve it. After everything he put me through, after what he put her through? Things took a turn for the worse when I dropped the gun though, it went off and shot her in the chest. This wasn't what I wanted, not at all.

"D-Dear.." She breathed as she placed one hand on her chest. She was slouched over on the floor.

"N-No mom. I'm so sorry I-I didn't mean to hurt you, only him." I said, tears were falling from my face every few seconds. Now I felt like the one who couldn't breathe, it was hard seeing her like this.

"Please, Alastor. I-I i'll be okay.." She said as I sat down on my knees, she grabbed one of my hands.

I could tell just from her grip that she was weak, and she was getting even weaker by the second. She's going to be gone soon, that much was painfully obvious. There was no way that she would be okay. Even if I were to call someone, how would I explain what happened to my father? And I sincerely doubt that they would make it in time in order to save her. I don't want her to leave me.

"You're lying, please dont lie to me." I said, clutching her hand tighter. I didn't want her to go, not like this.

"I love you, and I don't want to see you cry." She said as she signaled me to lean closer to her, she gave me a quick kiss on the forehead before slouching back down onto the floor.

"Smile, my dear."

Were her final words to me, I couldn't manage to smile though. Not right now.

After what had happened, I suppose the neighbors next to us called the police but that had to have been expected. Sure, I am only 12 years old but i'm not an idiot. No way was I taking the fall for this. No, I knew what I needed to do. I took the gun and placed it in his hands.

When the police came, I told them what happened. Well, my story. The fake one. I told them that they had been in fights for years now and he had gotten sick of it. I told the officers that he shot her, then himself. Of course they believed me.

I was a crying twelve year old, why would I have made that up? The neighbors helped my story, they said that they had heard things breaking and arguing and told them bits of the arguments that they had, along with them saying that they heard two gunshots.

But that was all last night, like I said, they had me sleep at the station.

"Alastor!" A girls voice said, it rang through the station and woke me out of my trance-like state. I had been zoning out.

"Y/n?" I hadn't expected her to find out, not this soon at least. It was only last night that it happened, maybe she saw or heard the cop cars or something. It was now 12PM. Her mother had walked to the station with her.

"Alastor i'm so sorry that happened to you, I can't imagine how you must feel." Her mother said. Well, it's a mix of happiness and sadness. Is it weird? Killing him felt amazing.

I didn't want to talk to Y/n's mom though, and she quickly caught onto that. She finally let Y/n talk to me after I had refused to talk to her, the most I said to her was a simple "Good morning".

"Y/n-" she cut me off, she always knew what I needed. Right now it was a simple hug that I needed from her and she realized that.

"I'm here if you want to talk, don't ever forget that. I'm sorry you had to go through that." She said, her words meant more to me than her mothers.

"I'm just glad that you're here." I said as a police officer walked out of his office.

"Alastor LeBlanc?" He asked as I turned my head.

"Yes?" I asked as he flipped through a few papers that were in his hands.

"You have an aunt, from your mother's side. Her name is Mary. You're going to stay with her, you can still go to the same school you go to now too. She actually lives quite close to your school so you get a short walk there and back." He said as he walked over to me.

"Do you know her?" He asked me as I nodded my head.

"Yes, i do." I answered.

"Great, and also.." He paused for a moment.

"I'm sorry about your parents, I heard what happened." He said, even though I didn't care for what he said, I thought that I should still be polite to him. Maybe I should have been a little nicer to Y/n's mother as well.

"Thank you." I said to him.

I said goodbye to Y/n and her mother before he took me out to his car and drove me to Aunt Mary's house. I had only met her a few times at family gatherings that mother would bring me to but she seemed nice enough whenever I would see her. She had medium length black hair, and brown eyes. She was also a widow, her husband had died 5 years ago in a car accident. Though, I had never met him, she always spoke kindly of him. My mother seemed fond of him too.

When me and the officer made it to her house, she was already waiting outside on her front porch.

"Alastor, awe come here, hun." She said as I stepped out of the vehicle, she pulled me into a tight hug.

"I'm sorry Alastor, i'm so sorry." She said as she pulled away from the hug.

She took me inside of her house and showed me around, it was around the same size as my old home. It was a nice house, I could tell she liked the color red. I didn't mind the red theme because it was my favorite color as well. It turns out, she also had a radio. Aren't I lucky? After giving me the tour, she brought me into a guest room that was right across from her own.

"This will be your new room, and I can buy things so that you can be more comfortable in here." She said as I looked around the almost empty room. There wasn't much in there besides the bed, dresser, and nightstand.

"Can I keep the radio in here?" I asked, she seemed a little shocked at my request but allowed it. She left only for a moment or two before returning, radio in hand.

"If you'd like, keep it on the shelf or your nightstand. Just make sure it doesn't get broken, I wouldn't like having to buy another one because it did." She said, I nodded my head and took it from her, setting it down on top of the nightstand. She left again and came back this time with two blankets and a pillow, along with some sheets.

"Here, please tell me if you need anything else. Like I said, my room is across the hall. So if you need anything at all, let me know." She said.

"Thank you, Aunt Mary." I said, taking the blankets, sheets, and pillow and placing them down onto the bed.

"Of course." She said.

She walked out of the doorway of the bedroom and shut my door. I quickly made my bed and laid down, I was quite tired. It was now 3:30PM. I didn't sleep very much at the station, it was pretty hard to. I was trying to sleep on a chair with those kind of thoughts floating around in my head. I mean, I did kill my parents. Who would be able to sleep after that? I'm surprised that I got any sleep at all there.

I was exhausted from being up almost all night, so I did eventually fall asleep. When I woke up though it was 11PM. How the hell did I sleep that long? I sat up and threw the covers off of myself and got out of bed, I stumbled out of the former guest room that I was now supposed to call my own. I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, there was a plate of spaghetti that was wrapped up with a note.

"Alastor, this is for you if you want it. I didn't want to wake you."  The note read.

I took the wrapping off of it and grabbed a fork, luckily it was still warm. I took my plate and brought it up to my room, I would have eaten it at my desk but I dont have one anymore. I miss my room, but I still feel as though it was worth it.

I just wish that I could have seen his face when I shot him. On the plus side, I won't need to see Caleb's face for a little while. They said that I didn't have to return to school for a while if I wasn't ready. All I really need is a day or two though, i'd like to spend more time with Y/n but that won't be possible for a little bit. Aunt Mary wants me to stay here and adjust to living with her and living in the new house.

~~~
It's been 3 days now since what happened at home, what I did. Everyone believed that my father shot her and shot himself, only I know what truly happened there but it's not like i'm going to share it with anyone. I may only be a child but I would still face harsh punishments for what I did if the authorities were to find out. I fully believe that man, my father, deserved death. Honestly he deserved more, I let him off easy.
I wish I shot him in the stomach, or his chest. Leave him to bleed out. I wish I did so much more but I just wanted him gone so I didn't think about anything else but killing him right there and then. But my mother didn't deserve it at all, it's all because I dropped the gun that she died. I know that it was an accident because of course I didn't mean to drop the gun, but I blame myself for her death. Even if it was by mistake. There is something thing though, something that i'm glad to have. Her necklace, her brooch pin, and finally, her ring. The police took them and offered them to Aunt Mary to have something to remember mother by, but she gifted them to me instead.
Her necklace was long and silver and had a little charm on it, in which had a red flower on it. It's quite beautiful, it was red with the center of the flower gold instead of yellow with little hits of gold throughout the other parts of the necklace where the flower laid.
Her ring, like her necklace, was also silver. The ring had a rectangular blue gem that was surrounded by round silver jewels. She had always worn it, I had never seen her take it off actually. I could tell that she adored it, she did love the color blue. Perhaps that was why. My father had given it to her for their engagement, before he was an abusive drunk.
And then, lastly, the brooch pin. I never saw her wear it before, let alone even knew that she owned it but I was told that it was hers. The pin itself, had a skull on it. It was pretty to me, I pictured her wearing it in my mind and it would look nice on her too.
Actually, I think I have seen her wear it. Only once before though, I think it was sometime around two or three years ago. They found the three accessories and let me keep them, they offered me my fathers ring that he owned but I declined anything that belonged to him.
I certainly didn't want to keep anything from him. I would like to forget him altogether but of course that isn't possible. Not after what he did to me, what he did to her. How could someone forget a person like that. Especially their own father, though he never acted as one. He only used the title "father" to excuse his actions towards me.
I know that it is a little silly because its women's jewelry but ever since yesterday-when they gave me the items, i've worn her ring. I love the way the light bounces off of the blue gem, the shimmer is so pretty. I could tell why she loved it but, I do wish it was red.
Aunt Mary is letting me go back to school tomorrow, i'm excited to see Y/n again. I'm sure she will be happy to see me too. I wasn't aware until two days ago, but Aunt Mary has a small library in her basement. Her basement is more like a living room than a storage space, like how most people use it. It has a dark oak tiled floor, with a dark red carpet. There is a black couch in there, along with a small table. And of course, the collection of books that are all aligned on various shelves. It's become one of my favorite rooms in the house actually, no it is my favorite room. Sometimes I take the radio down there and even sleep down there or simply just read while tuning into whatever is on the air at the time.
I think Y/n would enjoy it down there too, I don't live too far from Y/n. Maybe a 20 minute walk at most. Maybe if it's okay with Aunt Mary, and if Y/n even wants to, I could have her over sometime. The time that i've taken off of school won't be a problem either and Mrs. Bailey, my new teacher, is already aware that I would be at home for a few days. When Aunt Mary decided that it might help if I take few days off, she notified my teacher about the basic details of what happened and why I would be gone.
The teacher understood and allowed it and said that if I needed the help, she would get me caught up on what we were doing in class and help me understand what to do. She even said that since i'm comfortable with Y/n, that I could ask her for help too. The one person i'm dreading to see is Caleb. Yes, sadly he is still around. I wish that he wasn't, and now since i'm gone from school, he gets Y/n all to himself. I sure call that unfair. I don't want to see him, I wish I could spend an entire day with Y/n. Just to have fun and be silly, that would be nice. I'd like to play hide and seek again too, last week was fun when I was with her.
Well, I suppose I should get some sleep now. Its 10:50. It's almost 11PM. And since I have school tomorrow, I can't sleep in like I have been for the past few days that i've had off. I have to get up early. Something that i'm fairly excited about, is that Aunt Mary was kind enough to buy me some new clothes so I get to wear them tomorrow. She even bought me a new red bowtie, i'll be sure to wear it. Perhaps i'll even look nice enough to impress Y/n hehe..
